Absolutely horrible service. Horrible attitude from the employee taking our order. Would give zero stars if I could.

“It's cold and for what it's worth, if you don't want to walk out in the cold, they might not be so fond of it either, and an extra tip makes it more bearable.”

They have constantly changing flavors, which they post on Facebook and Instagram. On one of those scorching afternoons, I stopped by and tried my go-to, cookies and cream, along with a flavor I'd never even heard of before: mamey. The cookies and cream was a pass for me. It just wasn't particularly creamy or decadent, which is what I'm looking for with a classic like cookies and cream. The mamey, though, that was unique. I'd never even heard of mamey before, but the flavor immediately made me think of fall. It has this naturally sweet, creamy, almost sweet potato/pumpkin-like quality to it. Honestly, I could see mamey ice cream becoming a fall or Thanksgiving staple based on the flavor alone. It just fits that profile. I normally stick with my go-tos, but this is part of what makes trying new foods an experience for me: discovering unfamiliar fruits and flavors and improving my palate. The mamey was definitely the winner and especially refreshing on such a hot day. For this experience alone, 3 stars. But I can see plenty of room for that rating to go up. Maybe I caught them on an off day, or maybe I just need to find the right flavors for me. Either way, the mamey alone gave me a reason to try them again.

Typically I don't write chain fast food reviews. Tonight will be the exception. It was a late…read moreafternoon lunch/dinner. I ordered the single steak burger with cheese, fries and a drink. The lady who took my order was pleasant and upbeat. The drive thru was running faster than normal and with only two cars ahead of me I pulled up to the window where this SMOKE SHOW asked to verify my name on the order. Ladies and some gentlemen: I have never seen a hotter man at a drive thru window in my life. He was a man's man. He was the kind of man who would build you a she-shed if you had a bad day. I imagine he spends his free-time ax throwing, hunting and cooking extravagant meals on a cast iron skillet in the woods. I feel strongly this man drives a Chevy Silverado, hasn't missed a George Straight concert and trims his nails with a machete. I was speechless. He was so attractive I just stared straight ahead through my windshield like I do when a police officer pulls up next to me. I couldn't bring myself to make eye contact with him again as I sat with disappointment in my car over my chosen athleisure of the day. Suddenly I regretted the My Little Pony t-shirt and glasses. I debated going home and putting on full pageant makeup, swinging by Dry Bar for a blowout and returning for a Turtle Sundae. I won't make that outfit mistake on my future daily trips to Freddy's ever again. The cheeseburger was great. The fries were cooked a bit long, but the experience was 5 stars. Well done, Freddy's. Well done.

They did not get the drinks right either. Again not sure why? Great employees, very kind, maybe training? .....it's a fast place restaurant and it takes some skill to work the drive thru, and I'm certain people have to go back thru to get their order corrected sometimes. Could be better! In time maybe! Frequent Freddy's Connoisseur,

The service by anyone we encountered behind the counter was exactly what one would hope for- kind, homey 1950s customer service to match the atmosphere of an old time malt shop. Honest, clean, vintage vibe that was really nostalgic. The fact that it's attached to Family Tree Furniture and Antiques definitely contributes to the nostalgia. The menu is limited, just as you would expect it to be, as is the inside seating. My husband and I enjoyed root beer floats outside on the bench while my sister got a banana split, and my nephew got a hot fudge sundae. All delicious and less expensive than other area ice cream chain stores.

Lots to look at while waiting for your food or even after eating. I tried the Reuben and while it wasn't my favorite version, it was fine. I like mine with more sauerkraut and a little less greasy (watching the cook, I think it's because she adds the sauerkraut to the grill where it soaks up grease, but loses the sauerkraut flavor). Hubby had a burger and malt and thought it was good. Definitely worth ordering shakes and malts here!!
