I've been a fan of Sonics for many years. I've had their food in multiple places from Oregon, California, and here in New Mexico. They're named "sonics" because their slogan at one time was they gave service "at lightning speed." The service at this particular location is slow regardless of what time of day it is. It shouldn't take ten minutes for tots and a couple of drinks with 4 or 5 customers max. I try to avoid this location because the quality is not so good either. Leaky, messy shakes, cold tots, and the clencher is, if they missed something on your order--you're lucky to get it at all. Weeks back they had BOGO wing specials. I'd been going there every other week to stock up on my weekend lunches. Well, this time I only received one. I used the intercom to try and communicate their error and was told it would be ten minutes because "we're busy." If YOU made the error, I should be the priority considering I was in line before the other customers. My kids in the car growing just as impatient as I am. I waited 15 minutes and used the intercom again and was told it would be out in just a few minutes. After 5 more minutes I got out of the car and and attempted to get the attention of someone inside since no one was answering the intercom. Inside I saw 2 or three employees with their backs to the windows conversating, water and shake mix all over the floor, and no one paying any attention to the person waving and knocking outside. I was disgusted and furious and left without the chicken I'd ordered almost a half hour prior. God forbid I have to come here--I only order something manageable and if there are more than 4 cars, forget it. I recommend everyone go to Circle T, or Blake's or where ever because this location is not worth it, especially if they're busy. The teens and management aren't paid enough to care. Rude little girl working at this location Jacqueline Acosta needs better training in customer service. Sat in the car hop with a million workers staring at our huge diesel truck not one person answered the speaker. According to the manager the battery died on the headset. Instead of coming out letting us know they just stared at us. Little manager had the audacity to tell me that if no one was in the drive thru I should have went through there. I didn't want to go through the drive thru. I wanted to order through the car hop. But instead of you know admitting wrong she just blamed me the customer. Rude little high school kid need's training in customer service. I will be making this an issue and will be reaching out to her boss, and their boss and everyone up the chain to make sure this little girl knows you don't treat customers like this! read more

Angel is ugly inside and out and should not have the name angel because she does not act like it. Is by far the worst most unqualified manager I have cone across. I don't know who else to contact in regards to my interaction with alleged manager because I can't even believe how bad of an experience I had with her. I don't think she should be a manger not at sonic not anywhere and I'm at this point never ever coking back. Continued awful service...pull uo to stall, even when they are n I t busy..and no one comes over the intercom...EVER. It seems this Belen, NM location doesnt need anyone's business. Wonder if the corporate office realizes how they treat customers all the time. This has been going on years. I swing by occasionally to see if it improves..and it does not. I waited 10 minutes at a drive up parking spot to order. Drove to the drive up window and waited. Please fix your signs so people don't have to rely on you to tell them what's on the dessert menu. That causes another long wait. read more

First thing is the service is horrible! The worst Sonic I've ever been to. You wait forever to order in the first place, Secondly you always have to ask for mustard and ketchup for the corn dogs, they are supposed to put limes and cherries in the limeade drinks but these guys don't! The manager here is a joke! I won't be back to this Sonic even though I live here, I'll drive to Los Lunas or Bosque Farms, it's too frustrating to come to this one in Belen, NM. I love sonic especially the sonic blast! But every time I go there is always a line and it is always slow. I spend 30 minutes in line for an ice cream. It's just really unreasonable. So in short they have great yummy food, drinks and ice cream but just not worth the wait. It seems like even when they are not that busy it still takes long. read more

The only thing Sonic has going for it is the ice, drinks & ice cream but the ice cream is pricey! Very slow service& the mobile app doesn't jive with their current menu! Get it together!! Got a burger & I asked for lettuce & tomato but they failed to put it on there. Waited 30 mins for two fish sandwich combos & got them somewhat smashed & thrown together & wrapper was all ripped. They constantly get orders wrong and then when you call one of the managers has the nerve to question your motives for calling. This experience here was dreadful. We placed our orders verbally because the drive thru speaker wasn't working. We got Tenders and 4 Milkshakes, that took over 30 minutes to receive the wrong Tender order and mixed milkshakes. One of the girls Savannah was so rude in drive thru. The absolute worst service you can have anywhere. After waiting for twenty minutes in a stall after online ordering for a burrito and pretzel I pressed the button and they informed me that they didn't have any carhops available. Ate at drive in, had to repeat order three times and they still got it wrong. Hot dog bun was absolutely stale, and inedible--even the dog turned it down. This experience may have turned me off Sonic forever. On the bright side, it took longer to order than to get our food. Sigh, if only it had been the food we'd wanted and edible, lol. read more
