We have had this appointment scheduled for a month. Her insurance hasn't changed. The office has had her insurance information since she made the appointment. They could have called us at any point prior to 9:25am today and we could seek care elsewhere. The front desk staff are completely incompetent and unprofessional. This is a practice that needs to be absorbed by a bigger hospital organization and ensure competent patient care. We wasted our time and my girlfriend now has delay of care in tending to her active medical issues. Completely unacceptable. Do not go here.

When I made the amount, the medical assistant on the phone told me that when I arrive for the appt., park the car, stay in the car and call the office so they know you have arrived & have your phone number. The medical assistant called back after 10 minutes and told me that I could go to the office. There were 3 chairs outside Dr. Layne's office. The chairs were socially distance from one another. The assistant came out of the office & told me to sign in & then she took my temperature which was 98.6. I return to my chair. The wait was about 20 minutes and I was called to go into the examination room followed by Dr. Layne. She wrote down the required information that I gave her. I was weighed & examined by the doctor. She told me that I had irritable bowl syndrome & that I was to keep a 6 week dairy of everything that I ate. She told me the food & beverages that I could not eat or drink. Dr. Layne sent me up to the Northwell Labs for blood work. I was relieved that I finally had taken action & I was in the hands of Dr. Layne who was calm and I definitely feel that both she and I will put an end to my misery.

And with his help, I finally quit smoking after more than 50 years of being a smoker. His staff is great -- the front desk people are somewhat quiet/reserved in style but they are totally professional and helpful any time I call for something or go in for an appointment. And the two Nurse Practitioners -- Sarah and Chenelle - are absolutely wonderful and thorough in their examinations. She has called me back in the middle of night when my children were babies and I was overly concerned. She has come in on the weekend to see my kids when they were sick. She came to hospital at night after one of my children was born to check in. She came to hospital when one of my children had surgery. Her office may need upgrading, but I would rather have her knowledge and care for my child than an office that is modern and updated and have my child be just another number with no care. She willingly answered my questions even the day after my dad's discharge and has been a very responsive ordering-physician to the home care team. When we called to set up appointments, the staff were very friendly and did not rush us along as it would often happen.
