Just finished a spring tour of Japan with my elderly aunt. If a 6-star rating is possible, I would wholeheartedly give it. The tour was packed with must-see excursions, and we stayed in wonderful accommodations. We had an outstanding local guide named AJ who was extremely knowledgeable and generous in sharing his wealth of knowledge with our tour group regarding every aspect of Japan. I certainly learned more about Japan than I ever expected from just one trip. Sona is a very experienced tour coordinator as evidenced by the seamless and efficient manner we traveled as a group. The Italy and France tour 2023 was a lot of fun! We saw so many places and traveled well as a group. It was a truly memorable experience! We had such a good trip organized for our 6th grade graduating students and their parents to Fresno/Sacramento with Sona tours. If I can give zero stars I would! Don't trust your loved ones with Sona tours because she books over seas trips with elderly's and charges allot of money and the second they land at the destination she calls family members at 3am and starts screaming at them saying "why did you let your mom come on this trip when she can barely walk! Send me money so I can send her back home!" When she was the one that went to the elderly apartments and booked with them directly. She is also very rude! Not only to the family members but to her guests that book with her too! I would never recommend her! Unfortunately we weren't the only ones she called and harassed at 3am. She gets over 5k from each individual and as soon as they get to the destination she tries to send them back home and keep the money! Disgusting! read more

What an unforgettable trip! Sona Tours is extremely reliable, organized and best of all extremely fun. They were able to accommodate a group of teenagers and parents and keep both groups engaged and happy which in of itself is a talent. They did it exceptionally well. Had such a memorable and positive experience with Sona Tours during this past Switzerland/France trip. Genuinely and truly Ms. Sona, Ms Jacqueline and Marina went above and beyond to make this trip unforgettable for myself, my parents and the other group members. Yes, there was lots of walking involved but that's expected with the destinations we were traveling to. Ms sona made it a point to assure that those who weren't able to walk long and far distances were safe and had cafes they could sit and rest at. As for everyone being sick, as read on another review, Ms Sona and team provided services to those who were sick and took us to nearby pharmacy, and made sure all of us stayed safe with masks and hydration. She even went above and beyond to accompany a group member to the hospital even when it was something she was not obligated to do. I was surprised to read a few of the comments about issues that arose during the trip one being the number of steps? I would image it is a given of you are traveling and going on tours to expect to be walking. When we went to the meeting prior to the trip that was addressed to make sure you had comfortable walking shoes as the trip would entail a lot of walking. If you have health issues and are not able to keep up I would think that would be on each individual to know that if they are capable of doing such a trip or not. As far as no internet we had them at all the hotels I am not sure why that was an issue in fact Sona had specifically asked everyone if she could assist anyone because one of the people traveling with us did not have an email address and she assisted them and if anyone else was having issues to let her know. Overall I had a wonderful experience with Sona and will definitely travel with her and her team. I had first hand experience and was there as I believe unlike the other who wrote the reviews were not the person who were actually on the trip. read more

Awful experience. My mom traveled with them to Europe and returned yesterday. During the trip we had no news from her because the hotels they picked were so "great" they had no wifi. I emailed the tour and asked if they can help these elderly folks connect to wifi, since company's Facebook had no activity for me to see if they were fine or not. I received a very impolite email from them. I replied back and said I was asking about the whereabouts of the group and didn't understand her frustration. She replied back with all caps on saying: "WHO THE HELL ARE THOSE FOLKS YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT? WHO IS YOUR MOTHER? IS IT A SECRET???" and a few more sentences with 4-5 question marks, basically yelling in the email. This is harassment, Sona! Long story short very rude response from a business who's in service of customers. When we were finally able to get hold of them, we learned that the entire crew got sick and the tour owner didn't bother to provide them with basic COVID testing service, while they collected fees for health insurance in case it's needed during trip. My mom returned yesterday and tested positive this morning. Sona's negligence has created safety issue for clients, specifically that her tour clients are elderly folks who 100% have underlying conditions. Well done Sona! read more

I was reluctant to use a different travel agency because I have been so spoiled by my agent but when my friend suggest Sona I decided to give her a try and I'm glad I did. This company has been in business for several years and the professionalism showed when we booked our trip. Me, my wife and some friends wanted to plan a getaway so we set an appointment to speak with Sona because we needed an agent that was familiar with what we were looking for. Sona planned, scheduled, booked and delivered well above out expectations. We were very happy with Sona Tours. I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of group tours but sometimes I just don't feel like doing all the work and this was a nice little break that fit into our plans nicely. Sona tours management are shockingly bad. Booked paid and confirmation invoice accommodation for two separate rooms. On tour I'm forced to share with a stranger because they haven't booked an accommodation and asked me to pay additional if I want another room. Management are ignorant by confirming the invoice is not something to look at nor is confirmation booking. I'm so mad. Even the hotels confirmed that I've paid for two accomodations. Sona tour tried to bunch people to eat your money. On first day send confirmation that everyone gets breakfast, we all arrive and there is no breakfast, again they say an error on their part and they can't do anything about it. Yet 30 grandparents children are now waiting to have breakfast but no allowance made to have breakfast. A complete sham of a tour. Never ever will I book with these again read more

I am very disappointed the way this facility handled our recent tour. We were a group of 50 plus individuals signed up to travel to Greece and Israel . Due to Covid 19 the tour was cancelled. The facility refunded some of the payment however deducted 10% and refuses to refund the full amount . I understand that these are extraordinarily circumstances, however I do not believe a reputable agency should blame the customer and not fully refund them for their tour cancelations. I have traveled with many other agencies and in these kind of situations the agency eats the costs of cancellation not the customer. I am highly disappointed, will never travel with this agency and strongly recommend for others to be careful Working with this agency and not travel with Sona Tours... The tour was fun and the clients are great. Sona is a thief!! She nickle and dimes you the whole way. She charged us $20.00 a person for the buffet when the real price was $13.00. Keep in mind that large groups always get discounts. She charged $35.00 a person for the statue of liberty tour when the real price is $22.00. She charged $45.00 per person for an Armenian food dinner when the real price was $25.00. She also puts you up in really cheap hotels and motels. She collected $8.00 a day per person (54 of us total) for the driver who worked a minimum of 10 hours a day. We found out that the driver was payed a total of $350.00 for 8 days worth of work. That's a total of $3456.00. Very unfair. The group I went with was very disappointing by Sona's overall professionalism. We have decided to never tour with her again. Lastly she tries to trick you by saying she couldn't find a roommate for you (in the hotels) therefore you have to pay $400.00 extra for the trip. She played a handful of us that way. I was the only one that put up a fight because I refused to pay extra once the deal was made. Total scam. Once of the girls asked if she could use her phone and her response was "60 cents a minute." She would be better off charging a higher rate in the beginning rather that playing these games. read more

I've gone everywhere with them from Desert Hot Springs, to San Francisco, to the Grand Canyon, and all the way to Italy this past summer, which was one of the best experiences of my life. I recently went on a tour to Spain with Sona Tour and could not have been more disappointed. I come to realize that if you are related in some fashion to Sona you will get the best and preferred treatment and accommodations. Otherwise you are treated very rudely and disregarded. They are very unorganized and unprofessional. The tour guides could not even explain or translate most of the stops on our itinerary. We just rode around on a bus all day. And when we did end up going to a park, most of the group got lost for hours because of the carelessness of the tour guide and improper directions. Worthless trip!
