I had gone to another dermatology practice in the Rockville area that proved to be mediocre and their office staff was abysmal. Dr. Yu was a referral from a trusted friend who is also in the medical profession. It has been about four years since my first visit but I was immediately impressed. Dr. Yu is friendly yet professional and his expertise is evident. My examinations are always entirely thorough and he catches even the smallest spots that have ominous potential and they could easily have gone overlooked by a rushed physician. I appreciate his attention to detail and he encourages me to ask questions! I have had to have various questionable moles etc removed and he has always been gentle. I would be happy to give five stars. However, the information required before my exam was a bit excessive. Through the tablet, so many questions were asked, and many answers were not accepted before I could advance to the next screen. I've had surgeries before that never required so much required information that did not pertain to anything I was there are for or planned on being there for. I have been receiving calls and texts for over a year about services that I have repeatedly asked to not have occurred. I have called this office on 39 different occasions over the past year and each and every time I call I'm told my number is removed. Yet today I get another text and call in regards to this. I've had good and bad experienced with medical dermatology but they screwed me on pre-paid laser hair removal. After two sessions, their technician quit and they've been unresponsive in my attempts to be refunded for the 4 remaining sessions. Honestly, they should refund all 6 sessions on account of the waste of time/money the first two were without completing the treatment. read more

The ladies at the reception area were patient and answered all my questions. Dr. Lee is phenomenal. He doesn't miss a thing. He's more interested in being thorough than being shy. I'd rather he doesn't miss a thing. Also, he is extremely knowledgeable in other areas of medicine. I think the girls at reception pay all of their attention talking to one another instead of paying attention to their job. I made an appointment over the phone, but the girl that made it seemed extremely rushed, like she was being interrupted. When I got to the appointment the next week, OF COURSE it wasn't in the computer. They looked at me like I was the idiot. Being a doctor myself, I would never keep staff like this in my office. The front office was super nice when I accidentally booked an appointment for the wrong doctor. When I came in, I only had to wait about 10 minutes at the most to be seen by the doctor. The consultation was professional and quick. She told me what the procedures would be like and she was very knowledgeable. I love the Dermatology Center, but the past few years have been rough. Dr. Lee and Dr. Pillemer are fabulous. Unfortunately, both their Germantown and Bethesda locations are constantly filled with appointments. I called today to book and they don't have openings (even for online appts) until September. I enjoy the knowledgeable doctors but it is always a challenge scheduling an appointment when you're in need. Plan to book an appointment AT LEAST one month out. read more
