Robert Somogyi was the guardian ad litem for my disabled son's daughter. My son shares joint custody with the mother but cannot drive because of his disability. After supplying Somogyi with large amounts of evidence showing that my 12-year-old granddaughter was being turned against my son, my wife and myself by the birth mother, he recommended that the court not only allow his daughter to remain in residential custody of the alienating mother but gave my son less time with his daughter. As soon as court was over, my son's daughter told my son to never contact her or her mother's family again. Furthermore, after the court decision, the mother refused to give any viable information regarding my granddaughter to my son. Again, THEY SHARE JOINT CUSTODY! It has been over one year and nine months since my son has seen or heard about his daughter. The school has sent letters that my granddaughter, who was always an "A" student is in danger of failing a required course and has had excessive absences this past school year. Apparently, this is having an affect on my granddaughter too. The Alienating mother is fully in contempt of court. I sent a registered letter to Somogyi outlining what has happened since his decision and heard nothing back. Since he was a major player in this decision- he should be the one to fix it. The courts and lawyers always say they act to protect the best interest of the child. In this case, these lawyers were only interested in the money. My son is on a very limited income due to disability and both Somogyi and my son's attorney knew this. Apparently, if these lawyers can't profit financially from a case, they do the least amount of investigation into it. Had this case been fully investigated and all submitted documentation taken into account, it would have been obvious that my granddaughter was being slowly and methodically alienated from my son and his family; ANYONE can clearly see it now at ONE YEAR AND NINE MONTHS!!! In my humble opinion, my son was not only treated as a TARGETED PARENT by his daughter's mother, the Alienator, but also by the Lawyers and Court System who handled the case. He was discriminated against because he was disabled and could not drive. To sum it up, Alienation of a child is worse than a death because the family mourns a child who is still alive. Laws need to change and lawyers need to open their eyes and get educated on what Parental Alienation is and what signs to look for. When a young child does a complete one-hundred-eighty degree turn from loving both parents equally to fully choosing one parent over another with no apparent cause, you better believe there is a MAJOR cause. I will continue to fight to spread the word in order to bring attention to the matter of Parental Alienation. Somogyi's actions tore my granddaughter's life apart as well as the lives of my son and his family. My son may never see his daughter again. Who knows what the level of emotional damage inflicted by the Alienator towards my son is now, at a year and nine months later! Robert Somogyi did not recognize Parental Alienation in my case and it cost me a year and nine months out of my daughter's life and depending on the damaged incurred to date by the alienating parent, possibly the rest of her life. Somogyi was the guardian ad litem for my daughter. I share joint custody with the mother but cannot drive because I am currently fully disabled and receiving disability insurance by the State of Ohio. Something needed to happen to change the course of my relationship with my daughter, who out of no-where, turned completely against me. After supplying Somogyi with large amounts of evidence including photos and text screenshots, showing that my 12-year-old daughter was being turned against me and my parents by the birth mother, Somogyi recommended that the court not only allow my daughter to remain with the residential parent, the alienating mother, but gave me less time with my daughter. I went from having eight days a month down to four. Even though Somogyi told me that this case is one of the hardest that he ever dealt with, he only visited my home and spoke to me in person once. Due to the fact that I am disabled and have limited income my father, who was very close to my daughter, provided the payments for Somogyi. Somogyi and my attorney were told, by me, that this was the last time I could financially afford to go to court. My daughter's mother knew this also. On the day of the hearing, as soon as I walked into the courtroom, I had a gut feeling that the deck was stacked against me. For example, Somogyi lauded over my daughter's mother for having received her master's degree and then turned to me, in front of everyone, and told me to keep working on myself. Seriously? Who says that to a disabled person? After that statement, it was obvious to me that my disability was being held against me. Everything went in favor of the mother, who turned out to be an alienating parent. My family and I gave documented evidence through emails to Somogyi and my attorney which showed that the mother was trying to take my daughter away from me and that's exactly what happened. As soon as court was over, my daughter told me over the phone to never contact her or her mother's family again. She told me that she would not get in the car with me if I came for her and that she would run away. Furthermore, after the court decision, the mother refused to give any viable information regarding my own daughter to me, including medical and legal information from a police department. WE SHARE JOINT CUSTODY! It has been over one year and nine months since I have seen or heard about my daughter. She was twelve and now is fourteen years old. I don't know anything about my daughter. I recently received two letters directly from her school and that's the only way I know my daughter's current educational situation. Maybe do something about it? I won't hold my breathe. I believe that not only was I the Targeted Parent of my daughter's mother but also by the lawyers and court system who handled the case. To sum it up, alienation of a child is worse than a death because the parent and family is continually mourning a child who is still alive. When it comes to my daughter, there is no closure for me or my family. There is a lot of available information on parental alienation; you would think that guardian's ad litem would not only be knowledgeable on this subject but LOOK for it. Somogyi's decision tore my life apart as well as the lives of my mom, dad and extended family. DO YOU BELIEVE ME NOW, Mr. Somogyi? ONE. YEAR. NINE. MONTHS. NO calls. NO letters in the mail. NO emails. NO photos. NO CONTACT WHATSOEVER. Alienating parent in contempt of court. I HAVE JOINT CUSTODY but have been cut out of my daughter's life by her alienating mother! I TOLD YOU THIS WOULD HAPPEN!
