I got about a pound of candy for around $14 to try a good mix of everything from chewy and sour gummies to chocolate. They have swedish candy that has the chewy marshmallow textures to tiny gummy bears with different flavors. While I was paying, the lady told me they've been open for 35 years, so they are definitely doing well. A great place to stop by if to indulge on some sweets and treats.

Cacao is such a cozy little chocolate shop in the South End. However, the quality of their…read moreindividual chocolates were so-so. We were a bit disappointed because some pieces tasted stale while others were delicious. For their expensive price point, they all should've been perfect. My favorite was their nougatine, and my least favorite was the almond bark. The main reason I'm giving them a higher rating is because their hot chocolate is so rich + dreamy. Will def need to come back this winter to get it again, but would skip the bonbons next time.

I really liked the chocolate covered oranges in particular! I ended up buying chocolate covered ginger and a tea-coffee flavor set of five. The ginger isn't too sharp when you bite into it since it's been candied, and the earl grey chocolate bonbon (which I wanted to try since I saw it online) was sold out individually but still sold in the five flavor sampler. The jasmine tea white chocolate rose was also delicious and the tea flavor was surprisingly rich. It's not cheap but it's well worth a nice gift for yourself or someone else!

Tick Tock Chocolates is one of my favorite little shops in Belmont…read more Whenever I need a gift for a host, a birthday, a "thank you", or a friend who's letting me stay at their house, this is one of the first places I think of. My default is usually the 9-piece box. If I really like you, you get the 9-piece box (lollll). Walking up to the display case can be dangerous; it's so hard for me to choose flavors because I really just want to try them all. There are rows of beautiful handmade chocolates in every color imaginable, and the flavors are so much fun: Vietnamese coffee, cookie butter (Biscoff), passionfruit, strawberry matcha, lavender, macadamia praline, local honey, salted caramel, and so many more. They also make seasonal treats. Around Easter, there are gorgeous big chocolate eggs that you crack open to reveal candy inside (I was SO close to buying one for myself ), along with adorable little chocolate bunnies. The chocolates are almost too pretty to eat. (I said "almost", mind you.) You admire them for a little while, and then somehow they mysteriously disappear into your mouth. NOMZ! My personal favorites are the Vietnamese coffee (of course) and the cookie butter, while some of my friends swear by the passionfruit and the fruitier flavors. I don't think I've had a bad one yet. But here's one thing that has always stuck with me, it's something that happened when I was in the shop one afternoon. A family was sampling quite a few chocolates, and I remember feeling a little bad for the owner because they were so patient and generous with everyone. I ended up making sure I bought a box to bring to friends that day, not because anyone pressured me or anything, but...don't you just wanna support a small business run by genuinely kind people? I haven't found a chocolate-loving friend who wasn't thrilled to receive a box from Tick Tock. (One of my friends are the 9-piece box in a weekend. I can't blame them, but...) Belmont is lucky to have Tick Tock Chocolates, and I hope they're around for a very long time.

Truly Magical! Worth Every Penny! As a first-time customer…read moreof Not Just Cake, I initially questioned whether the endless stream of flawless 5-star reviews could truly be justified. I had never tasted one of Simren's cakes before, nor did I know anyone personally who had ordered from her, so the decision felt like serious leap of faith. The price point also gave me pause, especially since it is easily twice that of established local bakeries like Konditor Meister, Yum Bunnies, Donnas, Flour, or Icing on the Cake, etc. However, after speaking with Simren, it became immediately evident that her work exists on an entirely different level. Her passion, artistry, and meticulous attention to detail are truly extraordinary. I ordered a Harry Potter themed cake for my child's 8th birthday, and I was absolutely astonished. The cake was nothing short of a masterpiece. The golden snitch, Harry's glasses, the sorting hat, and an unbelievable edible fondant book with the number 8 on top looked cinematic in their precision. The photographs do not even begin to capture how breathtaking it was in person. And then there was the taste. We chose vanilla cake, triple berry mascarpone, raspberry preserve infused with saffron, cardamon, and rose... it was unquestionably the finest cake we have ever tasted. Made with the cleanest, freshest, highest-quality ingredients and just the right touch of sweetness, it felt both indulgent and perfectly balanced. Every guest devoured it and wanted to know where it came from. After 40 years of trying bakeries throughout Massachusetts, I can say with complete confidence that this is in a league of its own. Simren is not simply a baker. She is a true artist. Not Just Cake transformed our celebration into something unforgettable. It is an absolute must-buy!
