Hmm. Depends on the gender of the majority of the fans I suppose. Who am I kidding though. Rugby Park actually is home to football... and what a football team it is. This stadium is the only place in the world you can get a "Killie Pie" which sounds lethal but is actually delicious and was voted the best pie at any football stadium anywhere. First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - I've seen Kilmarnock play here twice. Once was against a smaller team from the northern reaches, and once was against an Old Firm team. It was similarly loud and intense and raucous for both games, which really impresses me. Any club can put out a big crowd for an Old Firm game or a big name visitor. But KIllie does it every single week, regardless of weather. I tried the Killie Pie and oh my goodness no wonder it's Britain's best pie. The girl that most recently brought me here (2011) was a little angel and shared my pie with me and made sure I had a great time with all the rough lads. It can hold 18k fans and has artificial grass. It was built in 1899 and then renovated in 1995, before hosting Blackburn Rovers, whose striker Alan Shearer scored a hat trick in that game. The stadium hosted a Scottish rugby game so finally the name came true. Scotland have played football here 4 times, most recently losing to Wales in 1997. The stadium was used in the film A Shot At Glory with Robert Duvall, and Ally McCoist used to play here. It needs to fill in its corners but I'll still give it a 5 for the pies.

The seating is so shallow that you're miles from stage and can see very little unless you watch the big screens. Then there's the toilet facilities - I went with my partner and 2 daughters in what was a predominantly female weighted audience and the queues for the female toilets were 20-25 minutes. Not a surprise really as this is a football stadium which, despite recent events, is still a predominantly male attended sport ! Refreshments - well you had to queue twice, one area for alcohol (and water), the other for food and soft drinks ! Seriously ?? And the choice ? Tennents lager (boggin), cider or wine ???? It's dark ages at Hampden !! Finally, it's location. 3.5 miles from Glasgow centre, it takes an hour to walk from the railway station that serves most of the rest of Scotland. Public transport is limited to buses that crawl through the crowd on leaving and a local train that you'll need to queue for an hour to catch and goes to a different station !! Compared to Murrayfield (20 minutes walk to the city centre and 2 mainline railway stations), Sunderland's SOL (loads of toilets right outside the stadium that can be accessed during the gig) and Tottenham (great selection of food and drinks) Hampden is a dinosaur. How has no one reviewed this yet?! So I've been to Emirates a few time now and seen the basketball…read moretwice (Go Rocks) as well as cycling at the velodrome. I know there's more to Emirates than that, but I feel like I've properly experienced sporting events here and the arena. And wow, it is amazing. It's new, shiny, clean and pretty industrial looking but without an unpleasant cold feeling to it. The events I've been to here are well organised, there are always lots of staff around who are friendly and helpful. On our most recent visit we got a Clyde souvenir for my nephew back in Australia from the gift shop, the guy working there was really friendly and had good chat. I didn't even mind that they don't have card facilities here yet (it's been open at least 6 months) so you get your card put through the old-school manual machines. It made me laugh to be honest, I did feel sorry for him though as he seemed a bit embarrassed. The velodrome has great seating and is a brilliant place to watch cycling - a sport I previously had no interest in whatsoever, but we thought we'd head along to check it out. The basketball is also really good and has great facilities for disabled seating, you still get a really great view even though you're at the back on the top level. The food and drink is reasonably priced too, not like most other sporting events you go to. I can't wait for the Commonwealth Games and will be vying for tickets to as many events as possible, especially here at the Emirates. I noticed when we were leaving the cycling that they had buses to take people back into town. I have no idea if these are free, but they must be quite handy as Emirates could be difficult to get to otherwise (unless by car). Looking at the website, there is also a Glasgow Life gym here and a spa. It pretty much has everything ... apart from card facilities and a cash machine!

The centre is big spacious and modern. Lots of changing rooms and plenty of access for disabled people. I was also lucky enough to get tickets to the velodrome during the commonwealth games (where we saw sir Chris Hoy, I couldn't take my eyes of his thighs ) I was warned before going about the extreme temperatures and wore light clothing and took a fan, which was much needed. It was an amazing experience, I didn't have a clue of the rules but it was exhilarating to watch and believe me the New Zealand team in lycra was an added treat.. Would highly recommend.

Actually, we had friends just outside Clydebank, so after Dad allowed me to stop here for all of 5 mins, I had his friend's son (who was probably around 18) bring me back here and even took me inside. It was a really great memory. We played "tag" on the terraces (I think he let me win) and totally trespassed. I remember thinking the place looked a bit more like a building site. I give it 3 for the memories but I am not surprised at all that it was demolished because it was a death trap. *** return to regular review *** From 1939 to 1996 this was the home of the Clydebank football team, who then ceased to exist and are sorely missed. I won't create a Yelp listing for them, but hopefully they'll come back to life someday and I can put them on the map then. I have visited this place but never saw Clydebank play so it wouldn't be good to review them maybe. It once had 15k fans but usually had 10k. Kilbowie was the first all seater stadium in the UK. The current incarnation of the team is a junior team. The senior team no longer exists. The museum in Hampden Park has some of the rubble of the stadium on display. Vico Properties bought the land, bulldozed the stadium and turned it into the Kilbowie Retail Park.

Broadwood Stadium is located beside Broadwood Loch in the Westfield area of Cumbernauld…read more It is the home ground of Clyde football club, a Scottish first division team, who relocated here from Glasgow in 1994. The ground has a capacity of just over 8,000 and is all seated in three covered stands. There does not tend to be very big crowds at the matches and as with most smaller clubs the atmosphere can be a bit muted. The seats afford a good veiw of the action on the park and there is adiquite leg room. Broadwood stadium can get quite chilly at times so I would advise wrapping up warm. It is easy to get to and has a carpark in which you can leave your car for the small charge of £2 and there is usualy spaces. The stadium also houses five aside piches which can be used by the public as well as a gym. I have enjoyed a few games at this great wee stadium.

Queens Park played here for awhile. It's new and modern and fancy and a lot of people say it has no atmosphere. It's a lot bigger than a lot of Scottish stadiums. It hosted Motherwell's European adventures recently.
