I have been seeing the doctors at Somers Point Dental for approximately 8 years. I have a history of dental problems dating back to my childhood. To the point: I have never had a better dentist and dental hygienist! Each time I am there I am treated with kindness and respect. The staff knows me by name. I feel safe and cared for... not easy to pull off when your mouth is wide open! Dr. Ferrar is my favorite dentist. She keeps me in the know and I understand what to expect when and why. The office staff remind you of your appointments several times so there is no way you will forget. I rarely have to wait more than 10 minutes. If you have an emergency they will get you in quickly! The office has the newest of equipment! It is very clean and sterile.., I recently lost the insurance I had for years and rather then going to a new dentist, I chose to pay out of pocket so I could keep seeing Dr Ferrar at Somers Point dental! I went in for my first appointment today, 30 April 2026 at 10am. I went to the desk to check in. The woman didn't greet me, just said "last name?" With an attitude. I gave her my last name and after a few moments she asked if I was a new patient. I told her yes and she proceeded to tell me that I needed to be here 15 minutes ago and that I had paperwork to fill out with the most disgusting attitude. I said apologies, and she told me that I may have to be rescheduled. She handed me my paperwork and it took me about 5 minutes to fill out. I went and gave it back to her and received the most disgusted look back from her followed by her telling me that I would have to be rescheduled. At that moment I had had enough with being treated how I was being treated. I asked her if i had done something to her since I walked in that warranted being treated this way. I told her that she had been nothing but rude to me since I walked in and that my appointment reminder that I received the day prior did not mention or remind me to be 15 minutes early to my appointment. She then proceeded to say that she was sorry if I took it that way. I told her that it was not me taking her tone a certain way, it was exactly how she was being and said that I was shocked that this is the first impression that they would give a new patient. She tried to reschedule me for two months from now until I told them I was here for a military requirement. Fast forward to being taken back to be seen by the dentist, he claimed that I need numerous procedures done including a tooth extraction. When I asked the dentist, I was told that the woman's name at the front desk was either Erika or Megan. Which I think was a lie. Not once did he ask me if everything was okay or inquire why I was asking. I did not make a next appointment and will be going elsewhere. Not once did the office staff try to rectify the situation or apologize on behalf of "Erika's" disgusting attitude or customer service skills. Worst place ever. Was sent reminder which said my appt time was 1130 clearly and I showed up exactly at that time (with proof with the reminder). The entire place was full and I was told I was late since my granddaughter was a new patient and I had forms to fill out. I assume I was supposed to be a mind reader and just should know that since nobody told me and the reminder said 1130. The over scheduling and incompetence of the entire office is unbelievable. Don't go there even if u have to drive a distance to find another dentist that takes ur insurance. I wasted toll money $5 and $6 gas money to be sent away with granddaughter not being seen. I'm glad this happened because even tho I was not happy with the service I went there anyway since they took their insurance and it was close. Very unprofessional. Had an appt scheduled as a first time patient and showed up early and was told that I needed to reschedule as the person was going on leave or going to be out until the following year. Said I should have received a text message or call to let me know. That never happened. I asked if anyone else was available to take me and was told no and that they wouldn't have any available appointments for months. I understand things happen but to not be informed until my appt time doesn't look good. Not sure if I will return. read more

I got a crown a bit back and they were super nice during the process considering the astigmatism of dentists being judgy. Other than that about a year later I found out from another dentist that the didn't seat the crown correctly and made some other minor mistakes. read more

waited 6 months for a cleaning appointment only for them to cancel on me the day of due to the dentist leaving for an emergency which I totally understand things happen but when they went to reschedule the appointment she said the first available was March it's currently October 14th! Office Experience was pitiful. The Manger Samantha is disrespectful and takes no accountability for her action, nor the actions of the staff that work under her. They completely diminish the the feelings of the patient and Stonewall ever complaint and grievance. Everything is swept under the rug. The unprofessional actions of the staff should be an embarrassment to the Doctors and it questions the integrity of the clinic. The over scheduling of patients and the amount of cancelations is disgusting. The manager and staff need to be held accountable for their unexcusable actions. They are all poorly trained and should be let go. And unfortunately their is no other sources to file a complaint to because the manager refuses to allow you to speak to anyone else and absolutely does not pass along the multiple issues and complaints surrounding herself and the staff. There is also no contact for HR and no contact to complain on the website or directly to the Doctors. I hope the Doctors carefully take into consideration the feelings and thoughts of their patients and tend to these issues as quickly as possible. The literal worst dentist office ever and I would absolutely not recommend. Almost the entire staff is the most rude and disrespectful staff that I've ever met in my life. The dentist does not listen to actual patient concerns and brushes them off. Left me with an unresolved issue and would not listen when I said the issue was not resolved. They blame the patient for literally everything they can and don't exactly do the greatest job in the world either. Would never recommend to anybody even for emergencies. Office also takes no consideration to people who have pre-scheduled appointments and prioritizes everybody, but their pre-scheduled appointments and then blames the patient for being upset for extraordinarily long wait times. If I could give negative stars, I would! Somers Point Dental office is a buzzsaw operation that understaffs, underpays its employees and overworks them, over book's appointments, and screws its patients. They cater to section 8 Medicaid recipients while employing their bulldog office manager to squeeze every last penny out of Medicaid and patients. The waiting room is always full of dissatisfied patients and the waiting time for a scheduled appointment could go beyond an hour. The receptionist and office works appear to be disgruntled employees and take it out on the patients. The dental hygienist must work on piece-rate commission because she rushes through your mouth missing a lot of plaque. The dentists, except for the owner, turn over almost regularly getting the experience they need to move on. Caution, there was a female dentist that was brutal on my mouth. Could have been new on the job? Today, I have found a real decent place to have dental work done. There's no crowded waiting rooms, appointment was kept timely, the dentist was the owner, the hygienist was through and friendly, and the receptionist and staff were friendly and efficient. Where? The turnover of dentists is remarkable. The office managers run a tight ship and collect every penny that they can from patients. If you can't pay or your insurance doesn't cover it, they won't treat you. If you have, let's say, a 9am appointment, so do 5 to 10 other people. Your wait can be anywhere from 45 minutes to 90 minutes. They share a dental surgeon. Expect to return there another day at their convenience. Beware of the older woman dentist, she'll butcher your mouth. Really! Their moto: root canal and crown. These dentists may not have the time nor experience at teeth restoration. This place is awful! My daughter had her wisdom teeth out year ago, here they send a bill in my son name of 1,000 come to find out they told me my insurance was covering everything here. I call my insurance company after it's done cause I get this bill now year later they told me that they reached out two times to Somers Point Dental to let them know this one procedure was not covered and the office told me when I got there that day when I asked him. Everything's gonna be covered. They said yes lied right to my face after they knew this would not be covered to leave there and Samantha is very rude. Who deals with the billing very rude. read more

I had an emergency extraction with their oral surgeon Dr.Yoo today. Don't really understand all of the negative reviews. I had no trouble making an appointment. Although it's a busy office, the wait time was very reasonable. The office is very clean and the procedure went well. I would use Dr. Yoo again if necessary. His assistant was very kind and helpful. Lastly, I thought Dr. Yoo carefully reviewed my complicated medical history and the entire procedure took less than a few minutes. The office staff was cordial and I have no complaints. I would recommend Dr. Yoo if you need a dental surgeon. read more

‼**WARNING**‼ DON'T GO TO THIS OFFICE, THEY HAVE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AS THE "FACE" OF THE OFFICE. I called at 11:25 to ask if they took emergency visits and they said they take walk-ins from 9 to 12. I said to the woman that I would come right over. When I walked in the door, they had two separate patients being helped by the same girl and by the time the girl got to me and I explained why I was there, she started shaking her head no repetitively telling me that "they stop taking walk-ins at 12 o'clock and the drs are fully booked." I said "I understand but I've been standing here for more than five minutes waiting for the two people in front of me." She shook her head no again, just kept shaking it. I then continue to tell her that "I even called before I came to make sure it was OK and that the dentist would be able to see me and they told me yes." I told her "my mouth is in extreme pain and I just need antibiotics, the doctor is not even gonna do anything procedure wise for me today" and she still continued to shake her head, very rude, no compassion or sympathy for wasting my time and for the office lying to me on the phone. When a call was made to the manager, after I left, they said that due to me walking in at 12:03, yes, I said TWELVE OH THREE! I could not be seen. Well, unfortunately for them they won't have to see me at all because I'm not going back to a place like that, that doesn't care about their patients time or more importantly health! I will give another office my business. You are not supposed to mess around when you have excruciating pain in your mouth. For all I know, it could be an abscess that could spread to my bloodstream, causing sepsis. Smh. This location has to be by far the worse even down to making an appointment they give you an attitude and talk to you like you're stupid or less than when they need us to keep a job. However, the female doctor is pleasant but be prepared to wait over an hour just to see her, I have never had a pleasant experience here. Every single staff member in the front is disgusting. This place does not have pediatric dentists! The front desk does not know what the are doing. Average phone call I'm on hold for very long times. The dentist is an asshole! My son wanted laughing gas, and the dentist called my 16 year old son a baby! He had no patience for my son, who has anxiety about going to this dentist, because they hurt him years back extracting 6 teeth when he was 10! DO NOT recommend this place. Glen Prager and the oral surgeon have horrible bedside manners. They really told me to "smoke pot and get over my dental anxiety" Not one person explained to me anything that was needed or that would happen. I went in for 1 bad tooth extraction and they tried to tell me they're pulling 4!!! I had papers shoved in my face to sign and wasn't explained what I was signing. I've got severe dentist anxiety and they were not compassionate at all. I felt like a bag of meat with teeth and an insurance card. Needless to say I walked out before my procedure due to all of the horrible red flags and disgusting bedside manners. Unlike I was told the appointment before, they actually DO NOT offer nitrous or anything else but a long needle in my mouth with novocaine going down my throat choking me to the point I had to pull away to vomit. I came in just for a cleaning and checkup (and assumed I'd have to come back to get a filling replaced that was botched by a different dentist). The staff was very friendly, and kind, and I was told they would be able to replace my filling that very day if I wanted. Dr. Combs did an amazing job on my filling - completely night and day from the original dentist I went to! I can't even tell it's there! My tooth broke on a Friday went to dentist same day. They scheduled me for Monday at 3:00 to have tooth pulled. Waited an hour for oral surgeon to turn me away because I'm a diabetic, not before giving me a lecture that I must have an autoimmune disorder causing my blood sugar to be high. So they scheduled me for two weeks later leaving me with no antibiotic scrip, it's causes an infection in my mouth and a trip to the hospital because my sugar went higher. I tried to tell him that my body was responding to the broken tooth and he said that can't happen. All the drs I've seen since said he should stick to teeth and not a diabetic specialist. I had a tooth pulled there before with zero problems. This dr said I was not going to heal, yet I'm a vegan and a fast healer, so fast that the gum has grown over the tooth trying to heal and now it's gonna have to be cut out. I was discriminated because I'm a diabetic and am not new there and they never discussed with me that my sugar had to be a certain level in Oder to be worked on. He just didn't want to ruin his day by any unforeseen problems with me. He dehumanized me by seeing me as a series of medical problems rather than a person. His tone was loud and harsh with me. The only dr there to pull teeth is all about himself and very arrogant. There was zero compassion. I would never let him touch me ever now. You don't want a dr who is negative and lacking confidence. I called to discuss the situation and office manager never called me back. This is an eat 'em up and spit them out facility. People are disposable and they don't care about a permanent client base. I'm going to tell everyone about my experience because diabetes deserve compassionate care just like everyone else. I deserve not to be scolded by a dr when I'm 57 years old, and he was out of line to give me medical diagnosis of autoimmune when I was there for my tooth. He also acted like my endocrinologist wasn't taking care of me when they do a great job. Every diabetic can have a high sugar and I ate two hours prior so that to be expected. They never told me about their policy for diabetes, so I guess it's a fly by decision made by Dr at the time. Had they expressed their policy verbally or on paper then I would have been ready. I sat there for a full hour waiting, in that hour I could have had my sugar to a level satisfactory to them had they just informed me. It's not ok how the dr treated me. I sat in my car in disbelief and felt dehumanized to the tenth degree, he made me feel like shit, and left me to get infected. Even dogs get treated better than that. Shame on the Dr. read more

So I've been coming here a year for my child.The first experience was great and a couple after .The past three visits not so much.I brought her here got her taken care of and the front desk ladies messed up her script.I tried to get them on phone but no answer or call back.Next visit...She had work done but a week later the temp fell out so I called...again no answer or call back.i drove there that same day ,a half hour,they wouldn't even look at her tooth and again rude receptionist so here I am waiting for her to b seen the day after that,appt was 2:30 it's now 3 and the receptionist is slamming the phone and being rude to the callers.I suggest u get new receptionist and don't give appointments you obviously can't see until well after the time!!!Dentist is awesome front desk NOT SO MUCH!! read more
