I have been seeing the doctors at Somers Point Dental for approximately 8 years. I have a history…read moreof dental problems dating back to my childhood. To the point: I have never had a better dentist and dental hygienist! Each time I am there I am treated with kindness and respect. The staff knows me by name. I feel safe and cared for... not easy to pull off when your mouth is wide open! Dr. Ferrar is my favorite dentist. She keeps me in the know and I understand what to expect when and why. The office staff remind you of your appointments several times so there is no way you will forget. I rarely have to wait more than 10 minutes. If you have an emergency they will get you in quickly! The office has the newest of equipment! It is very clean and sterile.., I recently lost the insurance I had for years and rather then going to a new dentist, I chose to pay out of pocket so I could keep seeing Dr Ferrar at Somers Point dental! That should say it all!! A++++

My experience is a negative whatever the highest number is. Please do yourself a favor and avoid…read morethis dentist at all costs. I am living a real life nightmare and I have been for the past year. It's not something I can hide, like how people hide scars with clothes and some even get tattoos to hide them. Well I can't because it's my face, its my teeth or the lack of. It's one of the first things, if not the first thing that most people notice first on a person; their teeth and their smile. Well they took that away from me. The oral surgeon butchered my mouth. I had deteriorating bone that wasn't too bad but would have been later on in my life so I decided to get my teeth extracted and get false teeth. Before I let anyone touch my mouth I thoroughly went over the plan with Dr. Sarah Ferrara several times and the dental assistants as well to confirm that once my teeth were pulled, I'd get immediate, Temporary dentures and then in one year I'd get my permanents. She assured me that my insurance would cover it. Now mind you, immediate, Temporary dentures are not permanents. They are made with totally different material. Immediates are for cosmetic purposes only until your mouth heals and so you don't have to go back to work with no teeth and your able to live somewhat of a normal life while you are healing. They are very cheaply made and you can not eat with them. So after my procedure, I go back to get them adjusted and a couple weeks later I had a nerve or a bone right in the front that sent a shock through me every time I washed my mouth or tried to wear the denture and they kept telling me it was fine, it was normal. But that wasn't the only thing. I still had pieces of my teeth attached to my bone that I literally had to break off myself eventually because as I healed and the swelling went down, it started to hurt more because more of the tooth parts started to show more. I literally had to dig them out and use a pair pliers for one of them. And this was after what I'm about to tell you happened. So a couple weeks later I went back because of the pain from the nerve that was still in the front and the oral surgeon was so irritated that I was back and was so ignorant. After he numbed me, he took these scissor looking things with two metal round pieces on each side and started grinding away like he was digging for fossils. I heard the grinding and felt the pressure. When he was done jack hammering at my jaw, he sent me on my way. The whole time I kept thinking to myself why is my jaw so stiff and why cant I move my bottom lip without it feeling like I'm going to tear something open. Well when I got home and looked at the butchered job he did, I was so beside myself. He recut open where he stitched the first time and just started digging and scraping at my bone causing nerve damage to the bottom right side of my jaw and here's the worst thing. He took the chunky part of my gums inside my bottom lip right in front where the denture is suppose to sit and he sewed it to where my bottom front teeth used to be. There was also a huge pocket on my right side where he caused the nerve damage. Again, like I said I went back to them twice to get the denture adjusted and Dr. Ferrara & my third visit back within that first month that I can't come back and that I could go get a FINGERNAIL FILER and file it myself. So Fast-forward a year of living hell later, I have an Appointment for June 5th to get things started for my permanents and the uneducated fake blonde that sits at the front desk on the left side towards the back end of the desk tells me that my immediate/Temporary dentures are permanents and that i can't get another pair. I tried to explain to her that they aren't the same vand that they're made with different materials and she is sitting there trying to tell me I'm wrong. She shouldn't be working there. She sounds so dumb trying to argue when all she has to do is literally look it up you dumb ditz. I asked, well then why was I told before I had any work done that I would only have to wait a year. She asked who told me that and I said Dr. Ferrara. So this lil girl goes and gets the doctor and brings her out and she says, did you tell her she would get me dentures in a year? And Dr Ferrara said yes I did why and blondie says well they don't cover for another 7 years. Dr. Ferrara says oh, well I didn't know that, I can't keep up with these insurance companies these days like it's not her friggin job and why are you making a dental plan with patients if you have no idea what their insurance covers and what they are responsible for. You can't just tell patients they'll get permanent dentures a year later unless you're gonna pay for it. Which reminds me, I have contacted a lawyer. I actually talked to several in which every single one I spoke to said that dental cases are hard however I do have a good case. So I called my insurance company and OMG this whole dentist office is a circus full of 's who have no idea
