I interviewed with the director Kim in the summer, and knew that this was the place for my daughter. She told me from the start that they set up an environment where they do not have to say no often. She also mentioned that they try to get outdoors everyday, and if the entire class is having a bad day it isn't unheard of to not do much "work" and allow the children to burn off energy. I like this concept. Preschool doesn't need to be a "sit down, do this worksheet" type of place. Now, don't get me wrong, the kids there learn a lot! My daughter has progressed very well in Mrs. Denise's classroom. She's learned all the basics they teach in preschool as well as things like manners, respect for all living things, love for our environment, etc. It is a Christian preschool, but they do not go overboard with the biblical education.

The Y has gotten crazy expensive everywhere. I think it's great if you have a family, but if you don't, it's hard to justify the cost.
