Since I placed my child with East End Academy, I have seen a big difference in his behavior. Ms. Eley and her staff have a genuine interest in assisting the students and want to see them grow and become productive adults. Whenever I call or have a concern, they are always available. I appreciate a school that is willing to work with students that the world will often write off as a lost cause.

He's amazing! He knows how to find the perfect student for each part. He showcases their talent and makes them shine. He instills confidence in his students and they exude poise on stage. He creates a family environment among the students where their talents are celebrated. One can see the hard work and hours of toil he puts in each performance, all the while, humbly behind the scenes encouraging these fledging actors and singers to be their best selves. And they love him too! His positive spirit explodes in the classroom. If you get a chance to go to one of Mr. Stone's performances, don't pass it up. You'll be in for a treat, it's like watching mini Broadway! The playbills are professionally designed, the costumes and sets are on point, the auditorium is clean and comfortable. There are snacks at intermission! Applause applause for Jamestown High School and Mr. Stone! I'm looking forward to the next show! Break a leg!

And if you think your child and athletic child is going to do great at the school, they will make sure that he or she will not. They do not have your child in mind. They do not have your child to protect them. They do not have the correct education for CPR. Menchville high school is one of the worst high schools in Newport News, Virginia. Many families have transferred their children due to complications. Everything you see that says four stars are lies. This is the truth from a parent who had one graduate. While my child was in school, they had one child die on their watch because they thought that the child was lying when in fact, the child had an emergency. Not a single security, guard teacher or administrator came to help child the child was pronounced dead once the ambulance got there. I don't know about you, but this school is more a prison than what it is a safe Haven for our children.

Nestled away in a corner of Williamsburg sits Walsingham Academy.  Why did this hit my radar?  We…read morewere visiting Williamsburg one week before Easter and they were hosting a free easter egg hunt!   The grounds are beautiful!  It also helped that it was a beautiful day.  The sun was shining down on the grounds.  Spring flowers were blooming, the green grass was inviting and easter eggs galore!  It was a simple event.  When approaching the grounds it was cordoned off with tape separating areas for age groups 0-7 years old.  Each area had plenty of eggs for hunting and one Golden Egg.  We were lucky and got our hands on a golden egg!  The winning basket included sidewalk chalk, candy, bubbles and an Easter coloring book.  Thank you Wilsingham Academy for a nice event and a memorable experience.

However, I took a star away due to the availability of concession items. This game took place after work so there was really no time to grab something to eat. Wishful thinking, I thought the concessions would offer something at least to get me through the two games. Oh well, I made it work and was OK. There is plenty of parking here and the ticket line moved pretty swiftly. We were not able to purchase tickets online - this was a cash only event and it helped to have the exact cash. I am not sure how the school is - but congrats to the Varsity Girls Basketball Team for winning the championship! Well deserved. Have fun and enjoy life ;)
