We weren't really looking for an agent when we attended an open house one day, but when we left…read moreafter meeting Elliot we knew he was our guy. He is truly a rockstar real estate agent, and we are so happy to have had him help us buy our new house. What set him apart from all the other agents we met is that we immediately felt comfortable talking with him. He took the time to get to know us, and made sure we understood the entire process. He also introduced us to his broker Lance King, which made us feel like the entire King Realty Group team was behind us. And as things progressed, it was obvious they were. Elliot is informed, pays attention to details, is easy to communicate with, and most importantly, a good guy and fun to work with. He made sure that we understood all the documentation as well as the issues with the house - there were many as it was a fixer. At no time did we ever feel pressure to do anything, just the opposite. At the end of the day he took a complicated deal and made it really easy for us, and we are grateful for his help. Elliot's expertise goes beyond agenting. We had one issue that we didn't know if it was going to be a problem getting a loan, so he introduced us to Sean Byrne at Wells Fargo, who was also amazing. Sean not only explained all the ins and outs of the lending process, but even got us an exception to get the loan. If you are looking to buy, just call Elliot. He and his team know what they're doing, and you can count on them having your back every step of the way.

Home search with Lance started on 8/22. Contract signed on 9/13. Closed on 9/23. Short and…read moresweet. That doesn't really tell the story, does it? Prior to meeting Lance, I had worked with another realtor for a month and half with little success. So a change seemed needed. I went online, searched for "best realtors in SF", and found Lance King atop this realtor ranking (https://sfist.com/best-real-estate-agents-san-francisco). Two phone calls later, I met Lance in person. I appreciate Lance's knowledge, insight, and resourcefulness. On several occasions Lance would suggest something, not because it's exactly what I wanted, but because he believed that I hadn't thought about something and that I should hear him out. The learning was very helpful and much needed. The experience also tells me that with the right realtor home search doesn't have to be so time-consuming. Granted, as with any house search there still was stress, but Lance and his colleague, Wayne, helped me manage it. Their effectiveness, professionalism, and warmth were truly top-notch, and they have my gratitude and respect.

Giving them two stars for now as the case is still open to be resolved. We bought a home last year…read moreand bought First American Home Warranty. Thankfully nothing major broke down as trying to get our door fixed and re-keyed has been a process. My wife and I put in the claim on July 29th and had a technician assigned to us quickly. However, the business that they sent it too was over 2.5 hours away from us and would kept contacting me to schedule a repair time and then missing the days/ windows with either no call or an excuse that was unprofessional. We live in a city with several local locksmiths and contacted FAHW about getting a new technician. They sent our claim on to the claims department and let me know they would cancel the other service request. The claim has been approved for us to look up our own locksmith twice yet we never have received out approval amount or the steps to get our money back. Each time I have called they tell me "my claim still needs approval and is being sent off to a claims manager". They have missed their own deadlines and the contractor they were supposed to contact keeps letting me know of time slots and that they cannot grantee that they will get to us. They have done nothing that they said they would. I have family that has also went through this same process on their home in our area as well. Save your money and just make repairs as needed. Don't spend the money each year with this company just to be jerked around when you need the service.

After Paying for Over 6 Years, I Would Recommend Choosing a Different Home Warranty Company…read more We have faithfully paid First American Home Warranty every year for more than six years. Unfortunately, now that we actually need the service we have been paying for, they have failed to provide a solution. Around Thanksgiving, our oven stopped working and our stovetop developed a serious and potentially dangerous problem--it would turn on and then would not shut off. First American sent two different technicians to our home, but neither was able to fix the problem. Since then, we have repeatedly called, emailed, and sent messages through their online system. We have specifically informed them that we consider the stovetop issue a safety hazard. It has now been approximately NINE MONTHS, and our oven and stovetop are still not fixed. We have spent hours trying to get someone to resolve this. We have waited on the phone for extremely long periods of time, only to have the calls eventually drop. They do not call us back, and after months of contacting them, we still do not have a working appliance or a solution. What makes this especially frustrating is that we have paid for this warranty year after year for more than six years. When you add up what we have paid First American over those years, we could have purchased multiple replacement ovens--probably five or six--for the amount we have spent on this warranty. We continued paying because we believed that when a major appliance finally failed, the warranty company would be there to help. That has not been our experience. The entire purpose of paying for a home warranty is to have someone come through when you actually need the coverage. After more than six years of paying premiums and approximately nine months of trying to get this single claim resolved, we are incredibly disappointed. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend looking at other home warranty companies before purchasing coverage from First American Home Warranty.
