Re-reviewing because I tried a few more treats from here last Easter. Egg tart bunny was good, and the mango pink pomelo bunny was INCREDIBLE. One of the best things ever. Tasted exactly like dried mango and texture was amazing!!

Truffles were delicious! I loved the Ecuador and Venezuela rectangular ones - so rich and perfect for dark chocolate lovers. Maya hot chocolate was very unique; I loved the blend of spices (it's actually kind of spicy). We had it in the summer, but i can imagine it'd be great to order in the winter. Gelato was also delicious. The banana butter was SO good and truly tasted like fresh banana. The hazelnut was also pretty good. Seating is pretty limited. The interior is really nice and you can see inside their gelato and chocolate labs.

They have great selection of handmade chocolate truffles, chocolate bars, clusters, hot chocolate and other combinations of chocolate and espresso hot and cold beverages. They take orders and also have pre-packaged truffles and chocolate bars. I'm a big fan of their affogato and Bicerin. They get very busy during Christmas market and there's huge lineups to get in. But, the service is fast and the vibe is really good.

We came here around 3pm on Friday. It's a nice open store with gelato and hand made candy. We ordered eight handcrafted truffles of different flavors, affogato and bichiron (Italian coffee drink) Everything was great. The gelato in the affogato - delicious paired well with the espresso. The Italian coffee drink great and the chocolates- stunning. Our server was friendly and helpful. Will definitely come again for the affogato!

We came here for the gelato. It did not disappoint. The pistachio gelato is exceptional, it taste's literally like you are eating pistachio. Best pistachio ice cream I've ever had. The dark chocolate ice cream is very good as well, so creamy and rich and tastes like premium chocolate. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Service is great and first class. There are tables and chairs for you to sit down after strolling around in the distillery district.

Officially ice cream szn y'all!! I'm always looking forward to SOMA's gelato & sorbet flavours! I had their chocolate last year and I instantly fell in love I recently tried their Peach sorbet & Thai Coconut sorbet. These 2 might just be at my top ice cream flavours now I haven't been able to find good coconut ice cream and SOMA's hitsss!!! Y'all gotta get on it We also got the Salted Caramel & a type of vanilla flavour with hints of honey in it Let me know what other flavours you've tried at SOMA! ‍

Maya hot chocolate with oat-milk! Very delicious!

Not a big hot chocolate person but their maya hot chocolate had different flavors that typically isn't in hot chocolate. Like that it's is not super sweet and has a nice spicy kick at the end. Perfect for a cold winter day.

Cute place.Relaxed ambiance. I read that their specialty is chocolate and that their hot chocolate was pretty good. But it was too hot the day we came in so we just ordered Gelato. It did not disappoint. I ordered chocolate and pistachio. And my hubby ordered coconut sorbet. Service was okay.

Affogato with a shot of hot chocolate

Was touring the distillery district when I can across Soma. I already had it bookmarked from reading about great places to get hot chocolate in Toronto. This shop is all about chocolate and offered several forms of chocolate treats. I bought a few chocolate gifts to take back home. Soma was clean and bright on the inside. I ordered an affogato for the first time with a shot of intense hot chocolate instead of expresso. It was a wonderful treat. The thick concentrated syrupy hot chocolate slowly melted the vanilla gelato as I savored each taste. I could eat one of these every day for the winter season. Soma is a chocolate lovers paradise!

This place is a hidden gem in the distillery district. When walking in, it was eye opening to see the chocolate lab as well as the gelato lab. While we admired all of the goodies, I noticed a sour cherry flavored sorbet (very unique where we are from); one of the employees noticed, and asked if we wanted a sample. It was INCREDIBLE: perfect blend of sweet and tart. My husband then noticed the passion fruit, which was equally as delicious! Both were perfectly made. We would highly recommend this for anyone stopping by the distillery district!

While in the Distillery Historic district, we walked past SOMA and we had to go in....The beautiful display of chocolates was just too tempting ! The large viewing windows showcase the chocolate makers busy making truffles, traditional Italian cookies and the shops signature drinking chocolate. It's also ranked as one of Toronto's best ice cream producers! If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place to go...they have three locations in Toronto...hope you can find one nearby....it's worth it....

Cute & cozy chocolate shop in the distillery district. Super authentic and speciality chocolate/drinks that are delicious. Friendly staff & fast service! There are also lots of different items you can take home too. I did think the serving size was small but it was a Holiday special so that may be why.

For drinks, we got hot chocolates, and they had one of the best hot chocolates I've ever tasted, and I'm not exaggerating. It was the perfect drink and taste to eat my dessert. Location: The location is very pretty, but it's pretty casual. The seating is pretty close to other guests in the restaurant or tables of two if I'm not mistaken. This is a perfect place to go with friends or family or on a quick date or by yourself. This place looked like it was located on a main street with street parking, but because I was visiting in Toronto, I'm not sure how the parking works as we took Uber. Service: The service was great, and they were very friendly and answered any questions regarding the desserts on display to help us pick the perfect one for ourselves. They also brought the food to our table, including the drinks. I 100% would go back to this location.

The regular tiramisu has a strong and balanced coffee flavour. The black sesame cake has a great texture and strong black sesame flavour. I enjoy vanilla addition too. I requested to be lighter on the chocolate but there was still a LOT of chocolate on our waffle. The mango smoothie was refreshing and sweet. I started going to Holy Choco when they first opened and their service was really good from some of the owner. Super attentive and caring staff. Unfortunately, it's since gone downhill since they've hired new staff and we had a number of small problems when visiting this time (dirty tables, dirty cutlery, requested if our food could be put in to go containers because they didn't want to do dishes, unfriendly, etc.) I hope they improve upon these staffing issues soon. The interior is nicely decorated with a cute angel photo op in the back, and window bar seats and couches to choose from. Great spot for 2-4 people. Despite the…read moresparse selection, the stale bulk candy and the expired goods, I came here because I loved the idea of an independent candy store. I will never again enter this business. I spent over $50 on a few items. The owner gave me an itemized receipt. As I was leaving the store, I saw that I was charged for the jumbo version of two items I purchased. I went back to the owner and respectfully showed him the receipt and the items. He was incredibly defensive, scanned the item and showed me the item was marked at the price it should be, but still showed as 'jumbo.' I asked him to scan the jumbo item so I could see I was not being charged for a jumbo and it truly was a system error. He scanned it and nothing was showing up. I'm not entirely sure on this point - but I feel like he was trying to enter a higher price for the jumbo as I stood there so he could justify the incorrect price. I asked for either a refund or to be given the jumbo item since that's what I was being charged for. I don't care if there's an error in your system. Fix it - it's not my problem. The real problem was how this was dealt. The owner wouldn't let me get two words in. He spoke over me for a solid 5 minutes. I kept asking if I could be given the courtesy of explaining what was wrong since he clearly wasn't understanding. I said 'I've been shopping here for ten years. Can you please just let me explain what the problem is without talking over me?" And he said "I don't care. This store's been open for 25 years. It doesn't need you." I was floored. Just a verbal barrage of condescension and abuse. It's a shame. Ten years of patronage out the drain. It's funny that he wrote a review on here asking patrons to give the store another chance. After that display, I'm making it my mission to spread the word on how you shouldn't. The service was the worst I've ever experience in my life. Half the items I purchased are literally expired. Everything is insanely marked up ($10 for a 180g chocolate bar, $3.29 for a regular sized push pop that's not imported). You can also find most everything elsewhere. Bulk barn has a great selection of Jelly Belly's. Also - check your receipts before leaving.
