Robby, the owner, is hands down one of the coolest, most genuine, humble, kind-hearted, hardworking, and inspiring people you'll ever meet. He's incredibly talented in the skateboarding world, yet what stands out even more is how much he pours into the next generation. He takes the time to teach, encourage, and inspire young kids to work hard and chase their dreams. That kind of character is rare. Our family stopped in just to browse and ended up walking out with two decks, trucks, and a handful of other items. But more than that, we walked out with an experience we won't forget. Robby went above and beyond to make it special, not just for my son, but for our whole family. He treated us like we belonged there. He treated us like family. He's the real deal. This review is solely on the service. We actually didn't shop inside. We were visiting Solvang and my son loves to skateboard so we had to check out the only skate shop in Solvang. Their business hours says they were open but when we went they were closed. I tried calling. Later that day the owner called me! He explained to me that they had to close early and asked how long we would be in town. I thought this was genuinely kind. We were having lunch at the time and he even offered to run over just to give us some stickers. How awesome is this guy. Super cool shop with an indoor ramp so you can test out your skateboard (or test your falling skills!) and even have a photo shoot. Fair prices, good selection of gear and equipment. Where do I start!? My family and I decided to do a weekend away from LA and came up to Solvang. During our walk around town my 10 year old son saw the skate shop sign and wanted to go check it out. So we did. We walk in and look around and see a half pipe and my son wanted to try it out. We got the ok from the owner Robby and my son tried and fell. (He's ok!) Robby came to him to help, spent a solid 30 to 45 minutes teaching my boy how to skate. We asked him to help build a skateboard for my son and again he spent a solid hour building a proper board. One of the best skate shops I've ever been to! Owned and run by a pro skater, Robby Hargreaves, who is very kind and knowledgeable about all the best gear and has the insight to pair your skill level with what will actually help you. The shop used to have a kind of insane vert wall but now they have a super fast mini ramp that is open to skate on select days. They have a lot of different brands but especially great selection of Powell Peralta stuff at unbeatable prices, and some really cool signed decks and stuff on the walls. There's also a library of old magazines and stuff that you can peruse. Robby also does lessons which I've heard great things about. The shop is also uniquely Solvang vibe and should be an essential stop for skaters in the area. It rips! read more
