My friend and I stayed at the Embassy West during Canada Day, which happened to be nearing its last days as a hotel. They were doing hardcore renovations and we were lucky enough to be given one of the newly renovated rooms. We were definitely impressed! The rooms had dark hardwood floors and cabinetry, a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, and sink, a walk-in closet, accessible bathroom, couch, TV with basic cable, visually-appealing art on the walls, and one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in. To be honest, it's much nicer than many apartments in the city, and even though its updated and more contemporary, it's still cozy. I believe some of the staff is still there, and, of course, there is new medical staff to assist in senior care. They have always been very kind and accommodating, and the management is still the same, so I trust that the quality of service meets or exceeds individual, long-term care needs, just the way it met hotel standards.

She was there for about 10 years, during which time she was quite content with the care and the food provided. When her medical situation worsened, she went from independent, to assisted living care. Presently, my husband, who suffered a stroke, is in the same place, and again, I am glad that he is in a place where he is well cared for, and the staff are very attentive to his needs.
