First, Stockton is very competitive when it comes to carnicerías. I wanted to join the hype I seen on social media but unfortunately was disappointed each time. Chicharrón was crazy dry my teeth would not even go into it, it was almost painful to chew and in the end we had to just give up and put it in a napkin. This was 10/25/25. We see chorizo seco advertised and this is the 2nd time there is none. EVERY good carnicería in Stockton has chorizo seco on the daily. The prices were not competitive at all it was all above average. $8.00 a pound for bola is pretty steep when you can get it at so many others for dollars cheaper. Tall girl at the register gossiping about a customer that had just left wanting her full change, but due to them having a penny shortage she wasn't able to give the lady her entire change. She stated she thought the senior aged customer was going to beat on her ....lol????? Made the vibe feel weird. In today's world money is money the penny shortage is not any customers problem and they deserve to be given their full change even if it is just 1 penny. The only reason this place got any stars was because they do have the 1.5 liter glass cokes. Other than that 4 times visiting was enough to say never again.

I tried the bistec y papa in a burrito and it was bomb! I went back the next day and had bistec y papa and chile verde tacos and they were super yummy and good. I'll be back and this place isn't far from work. South side is lucky to have all these great Mexican stores, taquerias, and cocinas.
