Typically get most of my groceries through the pick up service at Safeway offers. I often have to get distilled water because I have a water feature in house. I had the pleasure of meeting Kate and she was so friendly when she brought out my items. She politely asked if I mind if she asked me a question and I said, of course not. She said that when she was packing my order, they told her oh it's that lady who always ordered the distilled water and I guess apparently everyone was curious about what it was for. I told her that by the time she finished putting the items in my trunk I would have a picture to show her. She was so kind and friendly to talk to. I probably kept her out longer than she should've been, but she was very gracious nonetheless. The bakery for custom cakes could've done better. I ordered a heart shaped marble cake for my daughter's 21st birthday. Marble is suppose to look like a swirl mix of chocolate and vanilla mix, right?? That's what they presented as one of their choices but when I had cut the cake, it was chocolate bottom layered and top layer was vanilla‍...not happy. Plus, it tasted dry. We decided to buy our groceries at Safeway on Pacific since we were having dinner nearby. We had a cart full of groceries. One cashier was open and apparently the customer in front of me said the cashier isn't taking anymore customers and she was the last one. So I politely asked the cashier if she could call for another cashier to assist. She said no, she can't do that and I'll have to wait. I asked how long do I need to wait and she said she did not know. She was very sarcastic and did not have any kind of customer service whatsoever. I looked around and found a cashier where only "toiletries and meds" are being processed (apparently there is a separate cashier for these items) but the line was very long. The self check out also had a long wait but that's what we decided to do. Isn't there a manager around at 8:00? No one was overseeing the store? Aren't the store employees noticing that the store needs to run more efficiently? This Safeway is a poorly run store. read more

7/27/23 - I went to Safeway to order a sandwich, their was a real happy, young man making sandwiches today. For the first time in history their was only one other person ahead of me. I decided on my favorite and again for the first time in history they had sourdough bread. So, I ordered a salami with pepper cheese toasted with honey mustard, mayo, lettuces, tomato and red onion, & jalapeños. I also asked for salt and pepper with vinegar. That sandwich was EVERYTHING!!! He said he makes everyone's food the way he would like his and he did just THAT!!!! It felt good walking out of Safeway in less than 30 minutes. read more

I would like to start this review off by saying the only reason this review even has stars is because their curbside staff is ALWAYS so attentive and kind, never have had an issue with them. I do curbside pickup from here every week, since the service is generally fast and efficient, and personally I get anxiety going into stores , so that's why I do curbside pickup. I normally don't have much issues except for the occasional banged up product, which I tend to not make a big deal of, but this time I ordered Parmesan Cheese, which expired on MAY 29,2025, which means this product was sitting on the shelves way before that date, again I trusted the employees at Safeway so I typically don't check for expired products (I'm starting now.) , the only way I was checking the date was because there was mold all over my cheese!! This could be so hazardous and can get people sick if they had ingested it. Employees should be checking expiration dates more often and checking inventory. read more

I am a fourth generation Stocktonian, and I cannot believe that Safeway has denied my legitimate claim. In late June, I stopped by to get some gas in my truck. I brought the nozzle over the bed of my truck to get gas as I have done many times before. The nozzle vapor locked onto my intake and I could not get it undone. I then went into the island to ask an employee to help me out. Not only could he not get it out, but he also asked another employee to also try it... they tried their best jiggling and wiggling and moving the nozzle back-and-forth, but could not get it unstuck. During this process, it cracked my intake housing and also dinged a couple of paint chips around my intake compartment on my truck. As a long time businessman in Stockton and as my forebearers me, I thought this would be a simple process with an allegedly good company as this is an insurance claim on their part. Well, I just received a voicemail that my claim has been denied completely ridiculous... this is not about the money, this is about a basic business principle to take care of your customers. I guess I will have to sue them now in small claims court, which I will do which is completely ridiculous . This will cost them much more money based on my time now. As I left on the Voicemail with the return number , this is also an official notice for Safeway to keep the videos from that day and not delete them as I know that they will receive this review. I came here on Saturday to get flowers for my mom for her birthday and it wasn't busy, there wasn't a lot of people in the flower department. The skinny girl with black eyes glasses in the floral department had just got done with a bouquet when I was looking around. I tried to approach her a couple times to ask her a couple questions and she just avoided me. When another woman asked her for help, she brushed her off right away. I went up to the register to pay, she didn't have any acknowledgment. She was busy chatting with another male worker. I don't know if she was having a bad day but the service here is really disappointing. When I asked to be rung up, I asked if she could put the flowers in a bouquet, she straight stared at me. So I told her, it's fine if you can't but you can you give me the supplies and I will wrap it myself. She was quick to give me the wrapping paper then sarcastically asked me, "What color ribbon would you like, pink!?" I visited this location mainly because my bank branch is inside. But whenever I do go inside , it is always fairly clean and put together. I do find that at time they are pricey on items. But Fridays they do have $5 Fridays on certain things. And they will normally have these items in the front of the stores main entrance. I don't do my regular shopping here, but if I know they have a certain item or sale on something then I will stop in. There is also a Starbucks kiosk inside as well. read more

Great customer service at this store! I went at end of the day and wanted baked goods. The bakery closed as I arrived and the selection was sparse. Guess the baked goods here are popular so I recommend you go early for best selection. Plenty of cookies and pastries on shelves but I was headed there for their infamous Boston Cream pie. There were no pies and only carrot cake and German chocolate cake left. I'm not a huge fan of either so I passed and decided I will get there earlier next time. read more

I mostly come to Safeway for their deli sandwiches. Their selection of bread, meats, cheese, and vegetables is superb. The quality and taste are much better than the typical Subway. I asked if I could have light blue cupcakes and to not air brush the cupcakes because it looks nasty to eat. No one ate the cupcakes at the party and I was disappointed. I couldn't even get a new batch because the bakery was closed. They did it to the cake as well. What was so hard to use food color to color the frosting? Safeway went down hill while in the last 4 years. They're starting to look like crappy cakes. Nothing wrong with the bakery staff just the ones who think airbrushing cupcakes and cakes is the only way of coloring. SMH. This Safeway is mammoth located at the Lincoln Center. Probably the biggest one I've been to. It's located in a very hip area of Stockton I was told. Anywhere along this stretch of Pacific Ave - is considered a very nice area. This Safeway has wide and long aisles. Very easy to get around especially during high peak time. By the way, Trader Joe's is literally, on the other side. Haha.... :) Competion is good. Their produce here has great selections. Very fresh with many organic offerings. They also offer gas at this location which I actually have never experienced until I paid a visit here. Oh.... if there is one thing I'd like to suggest for improvement - they probably need to open more cash register especially during high peak hours. It was painfully slow! LOL :) And that whole experience in itself could jeopardize the great experience and shoppers may go elsewhere (Like Trader Joe's) to shop since there is so much competition in the area. But overall, I give this Safeway a solid 4 star because their service is top notch. Cheers! read more

This is a pretty good Safeway and their deli food is usually good. I usually get the combo of chicken strips, fries, and broccoli salad that it seems most Safeways have, and their bagels and donuts are pretty good as well. Self-checkout also seems to be much faster. They are open late which is helpful, though they close the right entrance in the evening, so be sure to park near the entrance that is open. read more
