Hiring 5starr Movers was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. Within the first 30 minutes,…read morethey managed to shatter my mirror, break my media console, and scratch multiple furniture pieces. The damage was just the beginning. Only two movers showed up instead of the three I was promised, and they spent a good part of the move arguing in front of me, trying to blame each other for their mistakes and poor service. They were late on both days, careless with my belongings, and--unbelievably--caught smoking in my building twice, which resulted in a $250 fine that they initially agreed to cover, then backed out two months later, leaving me to deal with it. Getting reimbursed for my broken media console was a nightmare. I had to send endless reminders and was paid back in piecemeal $30 increments over weeks, despite clear proof of damage. I had to fight tooth and nail just to get what I was owed. Absolutely unprofessional, unreliable, and unapologetic. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from 5starr Movers--they are anything but 5-star.

They did a great job this time, the 3 guys worked hard almost none stop for about 8 hours and without any slack time, which mean they were there doing their job and not just buying extra time. They also where very careful with our stuff, so far we have only found 1 thing that was a little damaged, but nothing major to do a claim or make it a big deal, something is bound to brake in a move. Their price has gone up significantly since we last used them, but when compared to others they were still a good price. Next time I will probably get 4 guys instead of 3 to save moving time so it's a little cheaper. I recommend them for local moves, have never used them for inter state moves. One comment to the owner was that when I got the call to confirm the quote I was surprised that the lady in the phone did not know the price list for the extra material fees when I asked her, for example how much is each tape roll. She seemed savvy about everything else except the extra fees. BTW be aware that for them to make sure everything is packed correctly they will have to wrap things here and there and use lots of tape. For example for my 3 bedroom apartment where I used about 50 plastic totes they still have to wrap furniture and other stuff and used about 14 rolls of packing tape. Imagine if you have stuff that it's not packed properly. My advise with this company or any other is for you to get plastic bins or storage boxes, makes your move so much easier and safer than used cardboard boxes.

With less than a week until my wedding, I tried on my welcome party dress and discovered a makeup stain along the side -- left over from my hair and makeup trial. The kind of discovery that stops your heart. I called Sudsies the next morning, explained my situation, and they told me to bring it straight to the Biscayne Boulevard location. I drove over from Brickell in twenty minutes. The moment I walked in, I was genuinely taken aback -- the energy inside is warm, vibrant, and immediately calming in the best way. I met Jason (the owner) and Luis (the president), along with their entire team, and was treated like I'd known them for years. They spot-checked the dress on the spot, removed the stain completely, steamed it, and sent me home with brand new garment bags -- all within thirty minutes. Thirty minutes. I was having a slight headache from Uhaul but Move Kingz fixed that! I worked with EJ over the phone to coordinate everything. He was extremely responsive. I reached him with ever phone call and is receptive to text. He even called when something went wrong from the Uhaul side (that we weren't informed of yet). Jean (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was such a wonderful person to work with and was the one helping us the actual day. He went above and beyond our initial request. He was very knowledgeable about moving even though he has only been with the company for 6 months. Jean handled all our items and boxes with care. He was also very pleasant company and had a positive attitude (making our move so much better). The pod was delivered 30 minutes late from our asking time, but we knew something like that would happen so we had already planned accordingly.

I had a UBox at uhaul so all I needed was to be unloaded and some things to be picked up from an apartment that was two blocks away. They came in this broken down pick up truck, used my Ubox to get my things from my old apartment. Obviously my couches a queen bed and dresser are not going to fit but the kids told me that the owner too the truck. We get to my building and these kids can't even park the truck!!! They had to ask the maintenance guy to do it for them!! Not just once but 4X. I paid for two trips not several so that was on the owners fault. Second he sends these jail birds to come move my things. I gave them a chance because times are hard and everyone needs a job at the moment. They ruined my dresser, ripped my couches, I live in a BRAND NEW building all the other residents had no problems moving in. these low cost movers put a hole in the wall and door. The owner had the NERVE to say this is common on every move. Wrong if you're a professional this definitely doesn't happen. When I got my furniture from the room place yes it comes in a box but they take off the box before coming up the stairs or elevator. That's how you know the owner is unprofessional doesn't know what he's doing he hires these poor kids just so he doesn't have to pay them as much as he would to someone that knows what they're doing. I was better off getting some guys from Home Depot and renting my own uhaul truck. Then the owner decided to call me trash to the personal in my building, everyone laughed at him. For even thinking it was ok to leave his shitty business cards, which btw went right in the trash like the trash you really are because your whole business is TRASH , YOURE NOT REAL MOVERS STICK TO MOVING PEOPLE THAT DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR THINGS NOR LIVE IN BRAND NEW BUILDINGS! Pictures don't lie of what kind of job you really do. Keep telling friends and family to post good reviews lol smart people would read this review, and know you're trash. This is actually my fault for not reading and doing my own research. People pay a little more to get your things done professionally, this is the first and last time it happens to me.

Due to closing issues, I had to push my move date Back 2 days. He said he'd be able to do it in the afternoon and that he would be there between 2:00 and 3:00pm depending on how the job before mine went. Unfortunately, it was a rainy day, and they didn't get to me until 6:00pm. They wanted to push it to the next day but I insisted we had to do it that day because literally all of our stuff was packed and ready to go. I ordered one truck and two movers for our two bedroom, one bath duplex. My fiance and I did a lot of moving before they even arrived, essentially just leaving the furniture for them and some boxes. Their attitude seemed Brusque but it was probably because they were just tired from however many moves they had that day. They wrapped most of my furniture carefully with blankets, but I must say I was not pleased with the way that they moved my grandfather clock. The second mover, Alex, said "well this is fragile" when looking at my clock. I was like yes that's why I hired Movers. They didn't even know you had to take the pendulum out of the clock when moving it. They refused to take my very small TV off of the wall, and told me they would have to charge extra for that which I have never heard before. That was frustrating. They made a dent in my baseboard and scratched a lot of paint in my newly painted residence, and then gave me attitude when I asked when they were going to fix it. He then begrudgingly said that he would send somebody over Saturday to fix it. That guy was nice and did an okay job. They worked very hard but I think it would have gone faster with three movers. It would have been nice to have a discount since they were over 3 hours late also. I'm not sure if I would use them again, but I'm glad that we are finally in our new place with the damage fixed (aside from the clock).
