Despite the inconvenience, Brittany and Joe returned without hesitation and generously spent extra time with us during our session. Coordinating a family for a photo session, especially with young children, can so be stressful, and we were admittedly flustered. However, their calm and gracious demeanor immediately put us at ease. They were patient, attentive, and made a genuine effort to engage with our children. Our two-year-old, in particular was completely at ease thanks to their thoughtful approach, including letting her view photos on the camera and accepting the little "gifts" she found during our walk in the park. Really easy to work with - very soothing, calming, friendly, flexible, kind, humble 2. Really cute couple too - happily married with really cute kids 3. Didn't seem like they were driven by money, but more from the enjoyment of photography, weddings, etc.... which comes through in how they work with clients. It means a lot. So many other photographers seem to be driven by price and vanity - and it takes away from both the experience and the art. 4. Gave us all of the photos on a DVD at the end (which was great for what we wanted). 5. Dependable = showed up on time, prepared, each and every session. They were so fun and easygoing, I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful team. We had an incredibly great time, both at the engagement shoot and at the wedding. They got us laughing and silly during our engagement photo shoot, and captured absolutely beautiful pictures during our wedding. Their talent and the quality of their work is spectacular. Their final product arrived much sooner than we thought (about 4 weeks), and the CD cover they made for us with the 700 pictures inside the disc were AMAZING. What a beautiful, beautiful gift. They are really great at capturing all kinds of funny expressions, they have two cameras going and keep snapping shots. Also, they are great people! Easy to communicate with, very creative and nice so it's easy for everyone to get comfortable around them, including the subjects (or objects) being photographed. We also got a couple of shots of our dogs, which are awesome.... It is really hard to get professional shots of animals because where do you take them? Not to the mall photographer.... to the Petsmart photo day? I don't think so .... So Sara and Ryan are also great if you want professional shots of your pets.... since they are nice and trustworthy, the animal get comfortable around them really fast so the photos come out great! I'll be uploading a couple to show you what I mean :) Anyway! My now wife and I are originally from back east, and never really felt at home in the O.C. The vibe out there is, well...not for us. When we started searching for our photographer, we came across many high-end companies dropping names and peddling their celebrity wedding shots. This was the exact opposite of what we wanted for our small, intimate event. We finally stumbled across www.saraplusryan.com (our photos are posted on their blog) and knew instantly they would get it. And us. We video chatted one time, had dinner another, and it was settled. On the big day, they arrived early and made us feel at ease while we got ready. We had a "first look" session before the ceremony that, to my surprise, wasn't awkward AT ALL. I was worried we'd look stiff and posed, but these two make you feel so comfortable you forget all that and just enjoy the moment with your partner. They flew through the obligatory (read: boring) family portraits in no time, which we personally appreciated. Though I'm sure they'd tailor time spent on certain shots to whatever the couple wanted. During the ceremony, they captured so many emotions in such unique ways. And at the reception, you literally don't realize they're even there. This made for incredibly candid, genuine shots of many intimate moments with our families and friends. After the toast, it was time for them to go. I almost asked them to stay for dinner, at least the 1st course! We received our photos in no time (2 weeks, maybe) via an email system that was very convenient to download, order prints and share with others. Going through them the first time, we were floored. Their style is one of photojournalism- capturing moments as they arise with unique perspectives and small, creative touches that make it seem like you're there when it's happening. It told the story of our day without words. They are truly talented. We couldn't be happier with Sara and Ryan's services, and will cherish the memories they gave us forever. In addition, RaShelle and Patrick are chill and very easy to work with -- very important when we were scrambling on our wedding day (we fell behind schedule). We chose the package of 10 hours of on-site wedding photography, including an engagement shoot. They have a day of scheduling guidance where we gave inputs on the people we have to have captured.
