What have I been doing with my life for the last 30 plus years? Eating fake pizza apparently…read more.. That was my takeaway after eating the most delicious pizza I've ever had in my life at Pizza Pinnochio. Tucked away in an ally in Sanremo, this place is serving up some pizza that can only make you shake your head is disbelief. It's a small mom and pop type of place and they are as a friendly as they come. Even though they didn't speak a lick of English and we didn't speak a lick of Italian, the waitress guided us as best she could through the menu and I ordered a two personal pizzas: one with peppers and one with prosciutto. The pizzas were prepared from start to finish in less than 10 minutes and were very thin crust. The cheese was bubbling and the taste was unreal. It's was the most delicious piece of pizza id ever had. Not to sound cliche, but it was literally melting in my mouth. I enjoyed it so much so that i ordered another pie. If you ever find yourself in Sanremo, this is a hands down must visit restaurant. I promise this will be the best pizza you've ever tasted in your life... Well at least if you're from the US.

We were not disappointed; the pizza was indeed amazing. I ordered the artichoke and grana pizza and was blown away. The wife had the Diavolo and enjoyed it immensely as well. The crust was thin, perfectly cooked, and delicious, with that smoky flavor you only get from a wood-fired oven. The surroundings were standard neighborhood eatery: low-brow and relaxed. No danger of a Michelin star appearing anytime soon. The waitress was quite friendly and the staff seemed capable of conversing in several languages (I heard pretty good English, German, French, and of course, Italian). As a bonus, the restroom, though basic, was clean, fully functional, and well stocked with soap and paper towels. Having eaten in many similar Italian eateries, this was quite a rarity. Check your bill carefully. Whether by accident or design, they charged me for an extra drink that we hadn't ordered. No biggie, but the only blemish on an otherwise pleasant and tasty evening.

I'm quite thrilled to be their first review. We were cruising along the seaside on the motorcycle…read moreinto Italy when I got it into my head that I MUST find gluten free pizza for lunch on our day trip. I knew we would be in San Remo around the noon hour so did some searching from the back of the bike (a big shout out to Rogers for making travel abroad with a cell phone affordable with their "Roam like Home" package that has allowed me to search for safe, gluten free food on the fly in Europe!). Anyway, on to the meal! The service was amazingly friendly and when I said the words "senza glutine" I was given a big smile and nod. We were told that if one doesn't make a reservation, it takes 40 minutes to make a pizza - this is absolutely reasonable because they have a separate wood fire oven dedicated to gluten free that needs to get heated up. We are on vacation and making things up as we go so we were happy to sit on their beautiful patio and enjoy a seafood appetizer, red wine for me and water for my bfriend while we waited. My gluten free friends, it is well. Worth. The. Wait. Incredible pizza!! It is exactly how an Italian pizza should be! Soft, crispy, chewy and charred a little from the oven. Oh yeah - they brought bread to the table with the seafood platter and as it was placed on the table, it was with a big smile and a reassuring "senza glutine". It was crispy like a crostini and a perfect accompaniment along with some high quality olive oil. What a treat. I will be smiling the ride back to France.

Horrible attitude and made you wait forever for your food. The only reason we walked into this…read moreplace is because it was across the steer from our hotel. Not recommended for anyone looking for decent dining experience.
