It was our first time to dine at Casa del Toro Wonderful Dining Experience at Casa del Toro!…read moreMy wife and I had a fantastic dinner at Casa del Toro in Hayward! From the moment we arrived, everything was excellent. The food was fantastic, the ambience was beautiful, the drinks were spot on, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We started with the Trio Ceviche, which was delicious and beautifully presented. My wife had the Paella, and I ordered the Short Ribs--both were absolutely fantastic. Everything was plated beautifully and served quickly without feeling rushed. We also had the pleasure of meeting Miriam, the restaurant manager, who went above and beyond to take care of us. Her warm hospitality really made our evening special and turned a great dinner into a wonderful overall experience. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the delicious dishes on the menu. Casa del Toro is definitely one of our new go-to places to dine! Highly recommended!

Good BRUNCH Special place, for Special Friends. Pricy , yes…read more!! But, as I have noticed in other reviews, the FOOD is always 'on-point'. Drinks are always on point. When a place is consistently, " CONSISTENT " ! Never been INSIDE! We will have to try that, the next time ... lololol But, when you have/and do most of your time, in the CITY, you have an appreciation for good Hayward, 'Brunch weather. ' In addition, impeccable service! Sometimes ... a lost art, at expensive restaurants. Ambience ... you are dining outside and your menu is not being blown away by the wind ... lol But, it is the perfect time of the day, out there. But We will make it a point to go inside. My friend has been inside each time because she has been to their restrooms. Not I. Handicap accessible Parking Good drinks, appetizers. Bring your special friends, family. But, not cheap. lol

I had dined at the Berkeley location but not at this location. The dining room is a bit smaller but there are three small table out front. After placing our orders at the counter, we were given a number which we placed at our table. Utensils and napkins were on the tables and self-service water station was along the back wall. We all received our orders in around 15 minutes. Yucca Fries with aji Amarillo - 6 fries to an order. Nice crisp to the fries. Tostones con picadillo - crispy twice-fried plantains topped with savory, seasoned ground beef. Baja fish taco - a piece of crispy fish, topped with salsa roja, cabbage slaw and baja crema on a soft corn taco. My favorite taco. Pescado Frito - two pieces of fried fish with salsa criolla with rice, choice of pinto or black beans, organic mixed salad and two plantains. A delicious combination plate. Our friends first visit and they loved the food. Glad that I finally got to the Alameda Cholita Linda.

The atmosphere is colorful and lively, with great music that makes the space feel fun and welcoming. We ordered the fish plate and the tacos, and both were fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned for a very reasonable price. The service was friendly and efficient, making for a perfect late afternoon lunch. We'll definitely be back!

What really killed it: the manager scolding staff in the back, mocking the cook's hearing, and harshly "training" the new waitress -- loud enough for our whole section to hear. Uncomfortable for us, and clearly worse for them. Food needs work. Staff treatment needs work more.

I knew this donut shop was here but had never been before. It was on my way back to the firegrounds, so I stopped in. The shop is not huge and there weren't a lot of donuts on display. I felt kind of bad that I was wiping out most of what was on display. I ordered one dozen each of four donuts, glazed, chocolate covered, and two others. I would have mixed in some crullers and old fashioned but there didn't appear to be any. Personally, my favorite is an Apple Fritter. None of those on display either. The woman who helped me was very friendly and gave me some donut holes on the house. I gave those to a Deputy Sheriff who was working the outer perimeter of the incident. As to how the donuts tasted, I don't know. Some of us need to watch our sugar consumption. I heard no complaints so I'm guessing everything was okay. I apologize for the lack of photos. As soon as I got back to the scene, coffee was poured and donuts consumed!
