Ms. Pastoriza (K & 1st) Ms. Wong (2nd) both instructors did an amazing job with thier teaching. my son was comfortable and well educated. Not to mention that at any point in time he fell behind they were quick to let me know. However; for some reason this year (3rd) a lot has changed. They didn't have a christmas showing wich was very dipressing & his teacher whom I still do not know her name because she spends more time absent than her entire class combined. And when she does decide to show up shes late not giving me an opprotunity to speak with her. This isn't the first teacher I've heard who does this thus the one star reduction. But the second star was taken off because of the lack of the christmas performance and parent teacher assemblies. I forgot to mention my son was awarded student of the month for February 2014 and his teacher "forgot" to mention it to me. That was very upsetting! I didn't get to see my boy receive his award. Overall some teachers take thier job seriously, but due to those who simply do not care I gave the school 3 stars.

Four years ago when I moved to Soledad, Ca I never fathomed or envisioned sending my children…read morethrough a public school. Many life experiences have taught me so much about the world since moving there. I can honestly say the staff here has gone above and beyond many times for my children and many others. They are dedicated, devoted, overworked, and still care so deeply. Criticisms of this school probably come from people who do not take into account all the uphill battles teachers face at this little country school. They face language barriers, underfunding, and overcrowding, and yet through their hard work students excel here. The children have also worked hard and this site was nominated as a blue ribbon school. So amazing when you see their past academic ratings!!! The faculty, including office staff work so hard, and try their best to be personable, and helpful. Having moved away I miss the close knit environment, love, and effort shown by the staff at Frank. However, count it as a blessing my children left with life memories, and improved academic abilities thanks to all the staff at Frank!

I have had a long relationship with the School - was a student for 5 years (8th-12th grades),…read morevolunteer there, have worked there, have friends whose kids go there now, and even chose the simple yet elegant chapel for the site of my wedding. Needless to say, I am a fan! The academics are top-notch and I use the skills and knowledge from the classes I took there to this day. Many of the teachers at York outshine the professors I had at UC Berkeley. The school setting is idyllic - on a hilltop in Monterey. And the community is welcoming and genuine. I am absolutely looking forward to the day when my kids can enroll and become "York Dorks!"

As a class agent I have to get my act together and throw a tight 10 Year Reunion and 2008 is the year. Dios Mio. Seems like yesterday I was outside the chapel with my freshman class upset that my Mom forced me to go to York (since a good family friend sent their brilliant son here). After Freshman Overnight Orientation , I realized that my Mom picked the perfect school for me. Nice Work Mom!
