I went with a few of my friends, as well as a few other strangers on the boat. It was my first time ever snorkeling so I was super nervous. The captain and crew were very friendly and energetic throughout the experience, which helped calm my nerves. They were also very patient and friendly and taught me how to put on my fins, my mask, etc. The area we went to was great! The water was absolutely gorgeous and clear, but the creatures under the water were a little mundane towards the end of the hour. I saw some cool fish like parrot fish, and a few nurse sharks, but near the end, it got a little repetitive. Luckily, we only spent around an hour in that area so it was a very short-lived boredom. When we went to the sandbar, I'll admit it wasn't the best. The water was really dirty (brownish) and there wasn't much sandbar to walk on. However, the lily pad attached to the boat was super relaxing to chill on, and we had some stingrays and nurse sharks pass us by. Overall, a great experience with a lovely crew. I wish the sandbar was a bit better, and that the snorkeling spot had a little more diversity in fish, but overall I would definitely recommend read more

My sister's wedding was this past weekend and she was feeling super stressed. I took her over to Sole but they didn't have any available captains, so the owner herself (who is also super cool and kind) literally called all her captains to see who was available right now. We even asked her to prioritize female captains and she started going down the list with women. Truly accommodating in every way. We got an hour and a half ride sort of similar to their sunset cruise but in the afternoon - drank champagne, relaxed on the beautiful water, jumped into the ocean, and did a lap around the island. If I'm ever back in this area, I'll definitely be seeing them again!! read more

Once in a lifetime experience! We did the Trifecta and it was amazing to do so many things in just one day. Our Captain, Nick, was exceptional. Very known about the area and his hospitality and safety on the boat made sure we had a great experience. It is expensive, but we had some amazing memories we wouldn't have had otherwise. Thank you! read more

We booked a private excursion with just our immediate family today, however, they tried to put us on a group excursion with 40 other people, while still charging for the private excursion. During covid, being on a boat with 40 others not wearing masks is terrifying. We instead went and got a refund, after much difficulty. They tried offering us a half refund, even though we canceled before getting on the covid boat. After a long conversation and phone call, we were able to get a full refund. Warning: this place is not safe for covid and poorly managed. Try finding another place, the keys are such a beautiful place to boat around and visit, just not at sole. read more

We had an amazing experience from start to finish today. Booking online was extremely easy. The description and services provided were 100% accurate. The water was a bit choppy today but our Captain did an amazing job and really worked with my family to ensure everyone was comfortable and had a great time. We did the private excursion, snorkeling and sand bar swim. We also got a quick tour of Duck Key. Amazing experience for the family. Highly recommend this company and the memories created were worth every penny. read more

We had a blast with ally and Devin! The whole tour is awesome. We recommend the snorkeling and sand bar day!

Not great this year. Captain minimally talked about the area. Music was not great. Certainly not worth the money this year. Last year was far far better. Much more navigation and comments about the area. Captain seemed tired and just going through the motions. Disappointed!!! read more

Sole Watersports - This is the sandbar - Snorkeling Near Me - Marathon, Florida

We traveled from Lake Mary, FL with two other families. Our Snorkling reservation was rescheduled from Sunday, July 31st to Monday August 1st, due to high winds. We went out on Monday and apparently the winds were still high. So they took us to a sandbar instead. We were told that the kids would be able to still snorkel and see fish. We saw absolutely nothing. They said they had a big water mat. The mat barely held 4 children. We all ended up making the most out of our day, however it definitly was not worth the $560 I paid for 5 people to snorkel. I was refunded $150- but I feel like taking a boat to a sandbar for 2 hours, with no fish- Should have been a lot less than $400. That's ridiculous and we will def not be scheduling again. read more

They canceled on us last minute because they didn't have a captain. Excuse me, but how exactly is that our problem?

We scheduled about a week before our ride out. The morning of the private snorkeling trip we had been scheduled for a 9am tour, I got a call to move to noon because the water was rough. So naturally I'd like calm waters and head out later. At noon we get on with the captain and 6 in our family total. The captain was very brief and highlighted how rough the water was but it could still be worth going out. I reluctantly said yes. I had to weigh the needs of family while also jumping on this rate opportunity we had to be together to snorkel on this trip. We went, and waters were rough. We arrived at the reef, while we pulled into the reef the captain said we didn't get a good spot and all the other boats were crowded into the reef we were not. So we would have to swim toward the reef in the rough waters. Again, we said okay... well we're here let's do it. 4 out of 6 of us were game the younger two, not confident about swimming in rough waters. As we agreed to get the fins out the captain pointed to the cabinet where the snorkel gear is supposed to be** Yes, not there. Then he went on to say his people didn't check the boat before he got on. And he usually mans the bigger boat not the private. The rest of the time he was blaming his coworkers and not making our time smoother. He then had to communicate with the other captain of their larger boat, a hundred or so yards away from us. He sent two of our people to the other boat to swim back gear on their necks so we could snorkel. We 4 out of 6 eventually got in. Barely snorkeled and saw reef because the current was so strong it kept pushing me away from the reef. While I was swimming I was told he was just about shy of bullying the other two for not seizing the moment and jumping in. We didn't stay in water to long headed to sand bar and completed our boat ride for 600. I wondered if our captain was hungover from thanksgiving or if they over booked us that morning or if they could have rescheduled us altogether with better waters. Nothing was offered or mentioned. read more

We jumped on the group snorkel tour last minute. They were very accommodating considering we called in at 8:40am for a 9am trip. The boat was roomy and very clean. Looked very new. The gear was in great condition. The captain was very knowledgeable and the gear assistant (Andrew) was helpful and you could tell he loved being on the ocean. I would recommend doing a tour while at hawks cay. read more

DON'T BOOK HERE We booked a family snorkeling trip with Solé and they canceled us 36 hours before and left us with no other option. We were told to "call someone else". Don't make the same mistake we did, look elsewhere unless you want to be scrambling the day before trying to find a provider. The best part is we aren't even 100% sure why we can't go. We were given so many reasons why... in such a small amount of time that it just seemed desperate that they had to get rid of us. First it was because they couldn't find a captain, then it was because we were the only people that signed up that day (when we called it was the only day they had available) and it "takes 10 people to sell out a trip", then it was because our kids are little and can't handle it (why is a snorkel vendor telling me how to parent) THEN it was because of someone's grandmother?!? We know things happen, but why couldn't they just be honest with us? They could have easily made this right or us and just found another local vendor, but they declined. BEWARE read more

I'm a South Florida resident and have been with my kids on multiple snorkeling tours, but today we went on the most horrible trip we've ever been on. Disgusting attitude n service from the boat guide. Never taking this tour again. Any other tour guide is better, guess having the Hotel sending them clients on a daily basis means no customer service at all.. read more

Solè watersports was the suggested provider from our resort Hawks Cay. We called to book a trip for our stay and were informed that the only available day during our 5 day stay was Thursday 3/18/21. We booked a reservation and then called back with a credit card number when we left the resort pool. We called back with a card number, but through some confusion on their end they submitted my payment information with an incorrect spelling of my last name, thus shutting off my credit card. Not the end of the world, this can happen. I gave them a different card number before calling the card member services to explain and reactive the card. Human error, things happen- cell phone service here is certainly not the best in the Keys. I received a call a few hours later to let us know our trip wasn't going to happen. The manager on the phone informed us that it takes 10 people to sell out a trip and we only had 4 so they weren't going to be able to provide a captain. Then, when I questioned the reasoning of them not filling the trip because I was told I couldn't go on any other trip, the reason then became because we our children are young and couldn't handle 3-5 foot swells. Then, when I informed her my children dive often and are familiar with open water settings the story changed again.. to her son wasn't going to be able to attend his grandmother's funeral to captain our ship. Maybe if they had just come out and said that from the beginning things would have been different, but I was never given that opportunity - it was the run around. I thanked her for her time and told her I would certainly be writing a review, to make sure others don't plan on this being a reliable family entertainment vendor. I asked the manager I spoke with to please help me and make a call and place me on another trip with another outfitter because certainly everything would be sold out a mere 36 hours in advance. She audibly chuckled at me for suggesting that she try to call and help me make this right and wished me good luck. You have choices where to spend your hard earned dollars with your loved ones. Do yourself a favor and skip Solè watersports. I'm glad I dragged our snorkeling gear 1,000+ miles to be COVID safe for a company that doesn't care unless they can sell out a trip, and can't even keep their story straight of why they have to cancel. I wish I had read a few of these other reviews before booking that are all saying basically the same thing, these people simply don't care if they cancel and are managed terribly. I'm certain they will respond to this review with lots reason why they feel justified bombing out on us. I hate writing reviews because it brings me no joy personally to relive and share my experience, but I write this review for the next person - Because you deserve better. read more
