I headed here as it stuck in my head for some reason - it seems to exude quality and traditionalism, for some reason. And yes, that's exactly what I got. Rather older staff than most trendy shoe stores dotted up and down our country's high streets, but still very knowledgeable and friendly. I ended up spanking £80 on a lovely pair of brown leather shoes, and didn't get the job. Ho hum.

Had some free time after having afternoon tea at the pump room and saw this place on the way back to the hotel. Just poked my head in for a sec because I was curious if they had any of the kate middleton shoes and clutches. And I couldn't help but notice the huge sale going on lol. Unfortunately I couldn't bring anything home because my suitcase didnt have any more room (and you can buy everything from russell and bromley online so i didnt fee bad about it lol). But I did want to say the people working inside were very nice to me and I always appreciate good customer service. Maybe because they were old than most people that were working at other russell and bromleys i went to in london. And of course like all russell and bromleys, the quality of every item is great. The sale items and prices were great to.

Imagine having a fine store crammed full of wonderful shoes and boots (Ladies fashion ground floor…read moreGents upper floor) with quality oozing out the door in the breeze only to find your address is Cheap Street. It's not what you think though as the name Cheap Street comes from the medieval word 'Cheap' or 'ceap' meaning 'to sell' and more loosely to 'market'. I got a wonderful pair of quality black leather shoes here that fit me perfectly at size 11. I got them at under half retail price too. The sales assistant was very helpful and pleasant but upselling appears to now be necessary in this less caring society. She endeavoured to sell me the internal wooden shoe shapers with one set around £20 and another £40 waving one at me. I politely declined but next it was a machine that would protect the leather from staining (for 3 months) at £4 so I agreed to this then she tried to sell me polish. I declined and as this point it has become tedious, I just wanted away. I began to think that I was in a Monty Python sketch. This is a chain of shops with an 160 years of history and a company that had a visit from Queen Elizabeth II in 1955. It began in 1857 when an Alfred and Emma Jones opened a footwear shop in Bayswater, London. They were parents to 11 sons and three daughters. Nine of the 11 sons were apprenticed into the trade where each went on to open their own stores trading under the name A. Jones & Sons, and so it began. Interestingly the Joneses were the first traders to install electric lighting into their shops. Who knew.

Staff was super-friendly & helpful & I would recommend a special visit when in Bath - it'll be worth it! You'll thank me later!

For some reason this made the ultimate fashion sense to me, and have even since resigned myself to only buying the best shoes my budget will allow. Sadly, this applies to Kurt Geiger and his work-of-art designs. Some people don't understand the joy of window shopping. Maybe they think it's pointless or redundant but I absolutely love it and Kurt Geiger is my window shopping Mecca. I've only tried on a few pairs of shoes at this brand new shiny shop in Bath's city centre but they fit like a glove. Walking in them is a completely different story. If you have the funds, and an ability to walk in sky scraper heels - Kurt Geiger is the shop for you!

Compared with other shoes they are not that much more expensive - they're not as dear as LK Bennett, for example, and I think they're much much nicer and so much more fashionable. The assistants in the Bath store are as helpful as you will find anywhere - nothing is too much trouble in helping you to choose the perfect pair (or two!) of shoes. I'm not related to anyone in KG or an employee or in any other way connected, except as a very satisfied customer!

Now cue the sound of car wheels screeching and a piano being dropped ... try getting these people to actually help you make the purchase. I was so excited to find what I wanted that I ordered a whopping ten (10) pairs, then came the delivery section of the shopping cart that would not accept my location, the VERY (extremely) unhelpful nameless person at the other end of the six-week email trail who could not have made less effort (had to keep begging them to respond), and the eventual promise to send my order at the dandy delivery cost of £250 (international) ... anyway, having received precisely zero help from these guys, I finally gave up and found another website that has some of the shoes I hoped for, CINDERELLA SHOES in Ireland, where the order was super simple, the response was immediate (despatch notification came within 12 hours of placing the order), the refund for a my mistake was made with no grumbling, and delivery for six (6) pairs to same location was the equivalent of £67. Cinderella shoes is my new favourite place to spend my money. After all, After8Shoes obviously does not want it. Is it irony or false advertising to say on your website that "we REALLY want to help our customers" ... if it were my business I'd be doing a lot of soul searching about where this all went so wrong.
