A bright and breezy shoe store with prices at the lower end of the scale.
Situated bang in the middle of the town centre, this is a large double-fronted shop with a pleasant clean interior, and a wide selection of shoes on display.
For ladies there is probably just about every category you might need, from work shoes to party shoes, sandals to boots. For children there is a reasonable selection of girls shoes although only a modest selection of boys shoes. A fairly basic but cover-all selection for men completes the line-up.
A very useful shop for kitting out kids for school shoes as they grow out of them so quickly.
If you're looking for Designer labels and designer quality then this isn't the place. It's inexpensive - although to be fair the quality is quite respectable for the price. Indeed I've several pairs of sandals that have lasted several years that cost well under a tenner.
The only critisism is the lack of seating space to allow shoes to be tried on in comfort. At last count there were only two individual seats to perch on. It's not fun trying to balance on one leg, juggling bags and spare shoes, to try something on. So that's a customer service issue to be aware of, especially if you have younger children, or are an adult with mobility issues.
Keep an eye out for their Reductions buckets inside and outside the store - if they have your size then you could pick up a real bargain. Also, they often have a very quirky and reasonably priced selection of slippers for sale, ifyou like the whimsical. read more
