A while back I was looking to get the worn-down heels on a pair of mens boots repaired and headed to Russo's in down town Sacramento only to be disappointed and dismayed that they had closed ... permanently. So, what to do? I went on yelp and started reading reviews for various shoe repair places around the area and Sole Provider sounded pretty good to me. It was easy to get to, easy to find parking in the little shopping mall parking lot, and once inside I was greeted pleasantly. When I stated the problem and handed over the boots it was explained to me what was needed and what it would cost. The amount seemed reasonable to me for all new, better quality rubber heels; and he said he could transfer over the decorative metal logos from the original. I was happy to be told they would be ready in just a few days. What could be better? On the appointed day I returned and picked up the boots that now were better than ever, and I was very happy about the whole process. Been going there since I lived in Carmichael five years ago, and even though I now live in 15 miles away it's well worth the extra time to go to Sole Provider anytime I need my shoes fixed. Mike has brought new life to my crippled toes. He has a tool for stretching shoes UP in the toe box rather than out like shoes stores do. After his magic stretching the toe box up my hammer toes have room to wiggle around. He keeps the shoes about a week and it is worth every day. I'm writing this review on behalf of my fiance. She has gone here for years and always has had great work done to her shoes. If you know my fiance, then you know her shoes are her lifeline. He has performed miracles for her for over a decade from reinforcing the heels after the tips fall off to stretching ripped leather from the heel. We recently brought in 20+ pairs (yes, 20+) to have minor fixes done, and it was relatively cheap for that much work. To prolong the life of thousands of dollars worth of heels for a couple hundred bucks is a great thing in my book. And he did them all really quickly. read more

I just recently went here and had some heels that were way too high for me to walk in and needed to be lowered...the guy did an amazing job and was totally honest with me about how he was going to do it. The guy fixed my favorite stiletto pumps, who's teeny tiny heel had worn off and the metal was clacking against cement (super common problem for heels), right on the spot!
