We have been considering getting solar for several years. The price point was always too far out…read moreof reach. We had several companies come out and give us bids. We had companies bid where we could "lease" the equipment, a bid where we could buy directly from them and install the system ourselves which was supposed to save us nearly 40%. The company where we would install it ourselves told us it would "only take a day or two" to install the system. Luckily, before I pulled the trigger with any of these other companies, I met Patrick with Sovereign Solar. Patrick gave us a bid that was only slightly higher then the bid where we were going to have to install the system ourselves (including the permitting process and working with the local utility company.) Patrick did an excellent job navigating through the licensing and permitting process with both the local government as well as the local utility company. I can tell you this was not an easy process and one that I had no desire to deal with. Patrick and his team (Kyle and Ray) completed our project professionally and in a timely manner. Patrick has always been very responsive to questions and any concerns. I saved enough money that as an added bonus, I had Patrick install the "Sense" monitoring system so we can see exactly what appliances are using electricity and how much. In addition, Sovereign Solar USA and their employees worked with us to meet an installation date before the end of the year, with only a couple of months to do so. Provide explanation about how panels function, how you get credits from the utility company etc. The panels are very efficient too... I was told that the objective of the solar panels is to reduce the electricity bill by 80% to 90%. But I was really surprised when I saw my first electricity bill to be negative. Now, I am getting few more panels installed to offset my gas bill. I have decided to make a small change in my life style. In winter, in stead of using my gas furnace all day, I am also using local room heaters. This will reduce the use of gas furnace and reduce my gas bill.... Energy One also gave me a decent financing offer but I had resources to pay for the solar panels. The financing offer that E1 gave me, was just replacing my monthly utility bill with the monthly financing installment. It was a great option too....

Zenernet, was the only company that was $18,000.00 more then any other company on doing a financing option. I asked Brian the Representative I was working with, why are they $18,000 more then any other company, he stated it was the fees charged by Sunlight Financial. I took the information Brian gave me about why they are $18,000 more and called Sunlight Financial and asked if they charge and fees for financing a solar system through them I was told NO! I continued to ask if Sunlight required any percentage down to finance a loan and again I was told NO! I asded if they offer a 0.99% interset rate for 20 yeas and the answer was YES! my final question was, does Sunlight Financial fund one hundred percent of the cost of the solar system and I was told YES! So, I called Brian with Zenernet, I told him what I found out from Sunlight Financial and asked him to find out from his boss why and how they can add $18,000 to their solar system just because a customer wants to take advantage of a low interest rate. My best recommendation in all my research, DON'T USE ZENERNET!! They won't tell you why they try to take advantage of a Disabled Veteran. They will over charge you, so buyer beware.

We were informed of all the stories that are read online and how this particular company differs. We also weren't put on the spot to make a decision right then. The electricians responsible for the job were respectful of our home and our property. They even enjoyed having our dog in the yard with them. Everything was done in a timely manner and given to us as an understandable play-by-play. To no fault of their own (something to do with how our house was built), they did have to return the next day to finish one small task.
