I have been going to Solara Sol for about 19 years or so. Sheila is my technician and does an amazing job. The quality of service can't be beat and the attention to detail is amazing. About three years ago I had to go to a couple of other salons as there were changes going on with Solara Sol. I was never satisfied. One tried to upsell me all kinds of stuff that I did t want, including pedicure spa treatments that are always part of a pedicure at Solara Sol. The technicians were very professional and provided great customer service. They did an awesome job with my pedicure and nails.

As I am sitting here with my party of four, only two were able to get pedicures because they said we were two minutes late so they started someone else. However, looking around there are not enough nail techs to have done us anyway. 2 minutes late? Really? What an excuse. On our last visit here we had appt for two and t!hey only started one and put my feet in water. I waited 25 minutes before someone started on me. I will not revisit this place. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Extremely rude and passive aggressive. Horrible customer service. When I gave different ideas of what I wanted done after waiting 20 minutes (had an appointment and still had to wait) they told me they couldn't do it and basically looked at me until I left. Once the technician started working on my pedicure, I was told that if I planned to return I needed an appointment. He had 3 other technicians sitting on their phones not busy at all. Have you ever come across an old gift certificate, unused and forgotten? I was so excited to find one to this place, gifted to me on my birthday 5 1/2 years ago!!! How did this get by me? I assumed it would still be honored as most business do not have an expiration date on them, as this gift card didn't. I called to be sure and was not only RUDELY laughed at, but also told in no uncertain terms the gift card would not be honored. They charged me $30 for my pedicure and $20 for my manicure and let me tell you its the best service i have ever received here in Gainesville. The salon is decorated beautifully and they always have relaxing music. It is exceptionally clean and organized. My tech is called Tina and she is so calming, gentle, polite and patient. This is my favorite nail salon by far in the Gainesville area. It is quite, elegant and calm. No shouting from station to station. And incredibly clean!! You use hand sanitizer when you come in and wash your hands before they begin. I feel very safe there. And I get SNS and the other salons did not take all the old off before they put the new on and it made my nails do thick I couldn't manage my clasp on necklaces. They are great!!! The only downside is they font have a lot of technicians so you have to make an appointment if you need s as specific time. I will go here until I move away!!! read more

Yeah, I'm done with this place. I've given them 3-4 chances and every time it's the same thing. It's always been a long time in between visits so every time I forget why I don't like this place. They always seem to have a rude stand-offish receptionist but most importantly my main complaint is that they don't know how to properly trim skin from around toes. They are always in a rush. They wanna start your pedicure the minute you sit in the chair and this just doesn't work for me. I need to soak for at least 5 mins so they can truly see the dead skin around my toes that needs cutting. read more

The only reason I'm giving this place a 4 star is because they fixed my nails the next day after I called. I got SNS nails by the nail tech Quincy. During the first visit she was sweet and pleasant, until I realized how uneven they looked. When I came back to get them fixed, her demeanor changed completely. She was a lot more passive aggressive and rude, when she noticed that i felt my nails were still uneven she called in Julie, who was another nail tech, to even then them out. This is my favorite nail salon in Gainesville. The hot stone massage is such an added treat to the pedicure! I haven't gotten a pedicure since before the pandemic and I really wanted to treat myself and stay safe, solara sol did not disappoint. Mask are required, they take temperature, social distance, and the salon is so clean! They still offer drinks and spoil their clients. Le did my pedicure and really took her time and made this mom feel like she was at a spa. I highly recommend to anyone in the area. read more

This nail salon is by far my favorite nail salon. Julie and Tammy are my favorite but everyone is amazing and they all do such a good job. Today I called to get 1 pedicure for my mom and one for me with a set of acrylics,but the receptionist said that they were completely booked and that they would give me a call back if they had any availabilities.I came as a walk in and the receptionist told me that she had only 1 space for a pedicure,but that she could not do another pedicure or acrylics because they were fully booked? So I don't understand she did have one space for a pedicure,but they were fully booked? And I asked the receptionist if she had any availability the next day so I could make an appointment and she told me that they could do both my pedicure and acrylics,but then she said that she wouldn't have anyone available for acrylics.This was the worst customer service ever and I have never been lied to like this ever in my life .I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

It has taken me awhile to write this review simply for the fact that I hate being negative, but my negative experience lingered in my head too long to ignore. For starters, I am an African American woman whose boyfriend is Vietnamese. I understand the language (which I know they wouldn't expect) and heard them make a rude reference towards another African American woman who had walked in 30 min before close. I made them aware that I knew what had been said, but instead of acknowledging the unprofessional and rude comments..they questioned me like they did not believe that I knew what they said. I was appalled. To make matters worse, the young lady that did my nails cut my nails entirely too short after I asked her not to and rushed through my manicure. My nails were different shapes and for the price I would have expected better. It's just not the experience you want after searching for a place to get your nails done. read more
