I've had multiple disappointing interactions with the on-site manager, Patty, but the most recent one was especially frustrating. She came by to do a smoke detector check while my baby was sleeping. I asked if she could come back a little later, and instead of being understanding, she texted me afterward calling us "non-compliant." That was completely unfair and unnecessary, especially considering I was just trying not to wake my baby. On top of that, Patty's attitude is consistently rude and unapproachable. She always seems irritated or angry, which makes it very uncomfortable a resident to communicate concerns or even ask basic questions. Solara's motto is "Live Happy," but unfortunately that has not been our experience at all mainly because of how interactions with Patty have gone. It's hard to feel comfortable or supported when management treats residents this way. read more

cleaned after moved out. and still charges these ? $390. ripped off. all tenants pay attention when you wanna move out. and don't live on Anita st, there's no parking for your friends to visit period, and the trash way to far for everyday if you go for a walk just for trash, and way to far for a laundry. and the price so high, including utilities, one room cost around $2550, they will charge u trash, sewer almost another $100 a month, and the lady at the office so rude, i will pay this amount, but my lesson may help all current tenants. thank you! read more

She makes it a nice place to raise a family, and makes sure everything is on the up and up. Truly someone that cares for our community. I love it here! Management is on top of everything. When I need assistance Elaine the Leasing manager is on top of it. I had a previous issue with a former leasing rep but she is no longer here. Been living here going on a year now and I have nothing but good things to say about the staff that run and maintain the property, they go above beyond for their residents and the property itself always looks and smells clean. Any small issue that arises gets fixed almost immediately, so again me regards to Elaine who has been nothing but genuine from the beginning to Rafa who literally is always making sure everything is running smoothly. I've been a resident in Solara Apartments since 2017. There's always pros and cons in living in apartments, but one thing Solara Apartments differs from the others are the amount of friendly, passionate, and dedicated staff that keeps the place safe and clean. Damion, one of the workers, is the best. Not a lot of workers in other facilities would care about the residents, but Damion shows the perfect amount of respect and kindness when he works. He's always greeting everyone about their day and willing to help. There are countless times I'd find myself struggling to carry groceries (having to live upstairs), he takes initiative and helps out. I think a few reasons why my family and I never leave Solara Apartments is the staff that always keep a friendly smile and work hard to keep everything in shape. Thanks to Damion! read more

This was a very beautiful home that I have found. My family and I have lived here for 3 years and we loved every moment of it. I will miss it dearly. Who I will most is one of the staff members Damion. He always was so welcoming and gentle. He has a kind soul that I will miss interacting with. I've lived here for 4 years now, going on 5, and it is such a lovely community. The management team is so wonderful. Not only are they extremely helpful but they're such lovely people. The property always looks neat and well put together and the modern design is very appealing. The apartments are pet friendly so my dog was more than welcome to join me. He's a cocker-spaniel mixed with a Maltese. Along with meeting new dog friends, I get to have nice chats with other dog owners. read more

This review is not about my living experience here since I'm just apartment shopping. I usually don't get weekdays off but my schedule at work fell apart so I was able to make time to apartment shop. If I can give Elaine a million stars I would. She was able to get me in on a same day tour. She was very prompt with responses through email and phone. As a first time apartment shopper, this experience can be a scary and nerve wrecking experience and Elaine made as pleasant as possible. She even went as far as suggesting me other apartments that her company has in a location I desired more. We need more people like Elaine in this world. She was the highlight of a very stressful day. First, we just wanna say that Elaine and Lily are the sweetest, they made the motto "Live Happy" truly feel exactly that. Right when we walked into the office we felt very welcomed. I am writing this review as a tenant of the apartments. I have been here for a year & a half. I felt compelled to write this review because I have had such a good experience with the office staff here time & time again. Specifically Elaine. I can tell that she oversees a lot, & has a lot going on sometimes - but she NEVER FAILS! She is always on top of things, communicates very well & is willing to resolve any issues with a smile on her face. When we moved in, she was training Cindy who I've run into here & there is always welcoming & goes out of her way to say hello & ask about our day. The maintenance gentleman is also very friendly and professional. Any issues we've ever experienced were resolved promptly and efficiently. Even the grounds keeper (who maintains cleanliness) is super friendly. Speaking of which - the property is very well maintained. Has a beautiful landscape & open picnic area for kids and pets to play. Overall - a hundred stars in my book. read more

Formerly known as the Westminster Arms. I fell deeply in love with this apartment. I still love it. I am just disappointed with the neighbors and what the neighborhood itself is becoming. It is a very well maintained apartment complex but the neighbors kids that run around all day trash the lawn, the walkways and your front porch will be littered with trash. Not to mention we live on the bottom floor so our patio has encountered plenty of empty chip bags from the second floors balcony. I think that personally where I am situated is inconvenient due to the fact that the family above us are related to the family directly across our front door. So there is constant movement, noise and stomping from every direction. As much as I want to keep complaining about that, I can't since they've never complained about our parties we've hosted. BUT the main reason why I am seeking to move out once my lease is up is the apartments nearby (and work related reasons). The street parking that is for all residents is near another apartment that constantly gets tagged with stupid graffiti and our apartment barrier is starting to show signs of destruction. I love that we live in a gated community but HATE that many choose to stick napkins, rocks and whatever else they can so they don't have to obtain a key to open the gated doors. What is the point of living in a gated community if I can't have a peace of mind knowing only tenants can enter. Any who, I'll just move on to the pros and cons list: Pros: - 24 laundry (there are two locations. In total there are 6 washers and dryers in the main one, and 2 or 3 in the littler one). - 24 access to the small gym (includes an elliptical, treadmills, an awesome resistance machine and stationary bike) - Pool (infested with kids after 12). Not 24 access - 1 free designated spot comes with the apartment, extra reserved spots are $35 a month - Close to 22 freeway and bus routes - Walking distance to a liquor store/western union - Plenty of street parking usually - Fancy magnetic key thingy, so no one can make a copy of your key like a creep! - Microwave and oven in kitchen Cons: - Disrespectful kids that tend to go unwatched - Graffiti - Unlocked gate doors - Reported cases of theft in the community once or twice - RUDE people at the laundry room. If your laundry is chilling in the washer or dryer, done, and I wait around for TEN minutes, I have all the right to place it on top and do my load. - Roaches...but they have been taken care of with boric acid (muahaha) - No refrigerator in kitchen read more

i have lived at solara apartments for 5 years, from the moment i walked on property to inquire about an apartment i knew this was home... property manager elaine greeted me with the most infectious smile and enthusiastic greeting... elaine explained the property had recently been upgraded with all new floors, granite counter tops, kitchen and bathroom sinks, lighting fixtures are all 100% led, all new oven and stove, range microwave, water saving toilets... as we toured, she showed me the grounds, toured an apartment very similar to the one i could move into... this upgrade includes the grounds, greenery, exterior paint, roofing, grass area and 4 bbq all new... elaine sold me, no reason for me to continue looking... i moved in at the beginning of the following month... elaine and her staff are all very friendly, quick response time... i have to say elaine's greeting was not a sales pitch to intice me, that would change after i moved in... every time i walk in, i get the same infectious smile and greeting, as does everyone else who walks in... she is kind, courteous, professional, always there when you need something or have a question or two or three... i have met the area manager annette, equally professional and friendly, as an area manager annette has a real interest in who her tenants are, she takes the time to get to know who we all are, that is a rare find!!! read more

I came to ask some questions about a notice that I received and she was smirking and laughing while I was clearly upset about my issue. Then proceeded to say that if our car wasn't added on to the lease that we would be evicted. Very terrible customer service. Would not recommend living here since it is extremely over priced and roach infested. read more

I love living here. The apartments are so cute and up to date. They also have fake grass to save water Damion the groundskeeper guy is such a great worker. very friendly too. he always picks up the trash the kids leave behind. I've been living here for almost 5 years and in that time it's been very peaceful here. If I need anything I just asked the management here and they try to accommodate the best they can. I'm coming up on a year of living in Solara and have had a wonderful experience here! The only reason why we are moving is to cut down the commute for a new job to go from a three bedroom to a two bedroom. Currently we have three of us in the three bedroom and it has suited us well. The Apartment: Great for the most part. Most units are remodeled and have "wood" floors in common areas, granite counters, and new appliances, all of which are in good shape. Had to rent a fridge though. The kitchen is huge and there is definitely lots of storage space through out the apartment. The Master is a good size with lots of closet space and a half bath. The only issue is that the other two rooms are pretty small, but its nothing you can't deal with and realistically it was probably designed for families with kids. No central A/C so that was a bummer on super hot days because the box in the wall really only worked in a 5 foot radius. Parking: You only get one spot and it is $50 a month to rent another spot. Pros and Cons to this, but at least we could secure a spot for all of us. There is decent visitor parking at the right times so you can always snag a spot when you see it to save it for your guest and there are several neighborhoods surrounding to park in. Complex: Small clean pool, no Jacuzzi. Fitness center is ok but not great but is open 24hours. Gated (the gates do break a lot but its kind of convenient when you have guests since there's no code, only clickers). Fair amount of laundry stations. Maintenance is helpful and takes good care of the community. It always looks clean and beautiful. Neighborhood: Honestly not bad. Lots of families with little kids who play outside a lot and dominate the pool every now and then which doesn't bug me but has bugged my roommate. Some sketchy people every now and then when you leave the complex, but with in its not bad at all. I feel fine walking to my car or apt at night. Location is conveniently off the 22 which is nice even though the 22 kind of sucks in terms of traffic. The Block/Outlets aren't too far but other than that not too much to do for young people. Target and Ralph's are close. Dining is a little difficult nearby if you have sever food allergies, however. Bugs: We haven't had any issues and you can have them spray if you do. read more

I just moved in here on the first of the month with a couple of friends and we couldn't be happier with everything. The area around the complex isn't the nicest but the property itself is a hidden gem. There are beautiful plants everywhere you look and grass that can never brown, because it's fake! The apartment manager Joell is a sweetheart and we couldn't be happier with her amazing demeanor and how attentive she is to our needs :] There's a pool that's always clean and two laundry facilities so that you don't have to worry about fighting to get to a washing machine. 24 hour access to the gym is also a huge plus! I'd just like to reiterate that we love the apartment, but love Joell even more :] read more

I needed an apartment and I needed it fast. I was looking for something clean and renovated. My unit at Solara was exactly what I wanted. It had beautiful flooring, granite counter tops, a lot of cabinet and storage space, and updated appliances and fixtures. Joell, the Community Director, was so nice and professional from the first point of contact. She made the application process easy and stress free. The community areas were well maintained and the other residents I met there were all very friendly! Circumstances changed and it was time to move. :( But again, Joell made the transition out so easy for me. So much of renting an apartment is the relationship you have with management, and Joell was always a pleasure to work with! I will always remember my little home at Solara. read more

I would not suggest anyone move in here unless you are in a real bind, and I will tell you why. When I moved in, we were given a rent reduction as an incentive, but they added an extra $500 to our security deposit. As we go to move out, they denied us ever having paid the extra $500 that they required us to pay, saying they credited it back to our first month's rent. Um no, sorry, you didn't. Because we had no documentation on this additional charge, we had no recourse. We were forced to eat this $500. Joelle, the office manager, is such a doll - real friendly woman... until you become a resident that is! She will say anything to get you in the door, then neglect you til kingdom come for the remainder of the lease, until she comes back to fuck you when your lease is up. After reaching out to the higher ups at AMC and getting no response, it became apparent that they would make no reparation unless we sued, but who has time and energy for that? I'm also fairly certain our microwave was intentionally damaged (but admittedly cannot prove), so that Jose, the groundskeeper/head maintenance guy could come in and offer to fix it for $160 (off the table) versus the absurd $350 they were going to charge us. AMC - if you value your residents, do something about Solara. Word of mouth is a bitch. read more

We lived here at Solara for a year and if we didn't have to move closer to my husbands job, we would have stayed! We absolutely loved our time loving at Solara. The apartments are very nice and updated. Neighbors are pleasant. Lots of washers and dryers to do laundry and 24/7 gym. The pool is beautiful and kept up well and the common areas are always kept up as well and looking very nice. What we loved most about this apartment though is Joell, from the leasing office, and Jose, the maintenance worker. They are truly AMAZING and absolutely make the experience of living here so much better. They are so kind and helpful and always smiling. They are on top of everything and super quick to help with anything you need and they are great friendly faces when you see them in passing! Also, nota an employee, but the USPS mail lady who delivers to these apartments is phenomenal. She's very trustworthy and very nice. We loved the location of these apartments and really enjoyed living here. We were sad to leave. I highly recommend Solara Apartments!! Go see Joell and check them out! read more
