I contacted this business through Yelp and it ended up being a great experience. Mick responded in a timely manner and set up an appointment to take a look at my existing solar screens. I was initially going to just have my backyard windows re-screened. He gave me an estimate to have those done. He also pointed out what a crummy job the previous company (Southwest Solar Screens) had done. They only put about 75% of the anchors needed to secure the screens, he fixed that. Do not use Southwest, they were horrible. They took down our screens and had the new ones ready in about a week. They did such a nice job that I decided to have the front screens replaced as well. Perhaps the easiest, most painless, transaction EVER with a contractor! Seriously. Mick is the owner. He came out as scheduled, confirming first. He is an easy-going guy but don't let that fool you: He really knows his stuff. As an example, he knew (which I didn't) that the HOA would want vertical bars in the screens to match those on the windows. All I knew was that there was a list of approved colors and that the new screens should be "flush mounted." He knew that, too. He wrote up a contract; I gave him a deposit of approximately half. He told me to call him when I returned from vacation. I had a note to do so but was busy unpacking; he called me. We scheduled the installation. He and his son Chase showed up; said it'd take about an hour. That's about what it took. I closely inspected every screen; they appear to be perfect and they appear to be mounted perfectly. I gave him a check for the balance and off they went. My house looks good from the outside but it is already so much cooler inside. Tomorrow morning, I'll be able to have coffee while sitting at my computer, as I do every day, but from now on, I'll be able to keep the plantation shutters open and see everything that goes on outside. YAY! No more shutting the shutters in order to prevent blindness. I cannot recommend Solar Screen City highly enough. read more
