Jade did my…read morenails and the final product was *exactly* what I wanted (short gel-x extensions, light pink chrome finish). My nails looked identical to the reference photo which has never been my experience at other salons. She made a custom color by mixing a few to get the exact undertone I wanted. Not only was the final product perfect, they were the sweetest people! No nail-biting shame and they seemed like they truly enjoyed taking care of their customers. Since all fingernails are done at the same long table, it was a fun conversation between everyone. I will be booking again in the future!

Art of Hair is a fairly new salon to Columbia, and it may be small, but they have BIG talent!…read more The stylists at Art of Hair are fully educated on the latest hair styles, trends, and hair care products. They are all CHI certified, and use only the best products for you hair (and they are very well educated on each product). Each artist has their individual talents and finding the one for you is important to them. Their talents range from funky and unique, to moderate and chique! They have recently also added ONLINE BOOKING! Much easier than calling and playing "date tag" trying to find the right date and time between your schedule and theirs! Additionally, they have great hours to work with many busy schedules. They usually have great promotional offers and discounts for students/frequent clients. They are very much into building and keeping great relationships with their clients. They have a Facebook page which helps keep their clients informed of promotions, as well as, what the staff is doing to keep educated and providing the upmost hair trends and products! Lastly, they offer a WIDE range of products and styling tools to purchase -- and if they don't have something you want, they will usually order it for you and it's there within a few days to a week! Oh and PRICES! Their prices are VERY reasonable, especially considering the experience and satisfaction you get with their services!

I was not impressed with this place: I made an appointment ahead of time and asked for Maja, but…read morewhen I got there she was not at the salon and I had Chrystal give me a haircut instead. I have curly hair, and she started chipping it off with a razor, which resulted in a shorter haircut than I wanted and in split ends soon after. Totally unprofessional, I thought. The place looks nice and clean though, and Chrystal is a nice person, who knows a lot about the food offerings in CoMo. But if you want to get a good haircut, especially if you have curly hair, try one of the other salons, which have a Deva certified stylist.

Tim is the best!! I live in Chicago and don't come home regularly enough to always have my hair…read moredone by Tim (my sister who lives in Manhattan doesn't let anyone but Tim TOUCH her hair), but when the stars align and I'm home with ragged hair or gray roots, Tim gets the first call (from my mom of course, crossing the Missouri state line turns me into an adolescent). I've had such amazing experiences with Tim. Not that he wants this becoming public knowledge and creating a new craze, but when my father passed away and we had to get to St. Louis on a Sunday afternoon for the funeral, Tim came to our house that morning and cut my sister's, mom's and my hair for us. We'd all been spending so much time at the hospital and not any time taking care of ourselves, that small act made us feel a little better that day. However, obviously Tim prefers for people to come into his salon during business hours - I think it's very rare to find someone willing to make an amazing exception like that. I've only ever gotten a hair cut or color at Roots Nouveau, but I will definitely stop in for a facial or eyebrow wax from my old high school buddy Kelly Baer next time I'm in town! I'm confident she's amazing; and positive Tim wouldn't hire anyone not stellar.
