My journey with Solar Bear has been far from smooth. Despite having their solar panels installed on my roof, with batteries affixed to my home, I continue to pay both my financing for the panels and my regular Florida Light and Gas bills. Six months have passed, and I haven't received any service benefits from these panels. The complications didn't end there. My entire electrical box needed rewiring due to an oversight by their sales representative. Though this has been resolved, the larger issue remains: when I reached out to Florida Power & Light (FPL) about a meter swap application - a necessary step for integrating solar - I found out that no application was submitted on my behalf. Communication with Solar Bear, specifically with a representative named Will, has been evasive at best. Promises to rectify the situation were made but never followed through. To add salt to the wound, I also availed the service of spray foam insulation from Foam Bear, an associated service. The personnel they dispatched managed to damage the main trunk of my AC unit. It took two arduous months, filled with persistent calls from my wife and myself, for them to address and rectify this issue. Their response seemed more a reaction to my negative reviews than genuine customer service. Contrary to our initial hopes of reducing our electric bill by transitioning to solar energy, we've seen an increase by approximately $200. This experience with Solar Bear has been laden with discrepancies and challenges I wouldn't wish on anyone. Solar might be a worthy pursuit, but Solar Bear has shown themselves to be both unreliable and lacking knowledge about electric company policies. Their lack of proactive communication only exacerbates the issue. If you're considering solar, be wary of Solar Bear based on my experience. read more

Solar Bear family, I ran into Jay Ellis at the Hernando County fair, he had a bean bag toss tempting me with a thousand dollars off if I made one. I got one in and we set up a time for Jay to come out and do an power evaluation of my house. The fact is, prior to the fair I had already thought of going solar but always thought it was too exspensive. Much to my dismay, after doing the evaluation the payment for the solar was going to be about ten dollars cheaper then my avaerage electric bill and I was going to be able to sell power back to W.R.E.C. Jay was very honest with all the facts and numbers, not your typical salesman. He took pride in making sure I knew what I was getting and how it was going to work. He fought to get me all the discounts he could, (much more than the 1000.00 bean bag toss at the fair). "Jay, you are a man of your word." The installation crew showed up when they said they would and completed the install. After they left I walked out to see how much of a mess I had to deal with and much to my surprise it was spotless. Absolutely fantastic. We were extremely skeptical when we started but our salesman made us feel a little more secure. We had a terrible experience with two prior companies that left us extremely distrustful of any solar companies. Then Danny came out, went over everything in detail, worked out all the issues that we had and set us up. When the guys came out to install the panels they were great. They were professional and extremely efficient in their work.They did a neat job and cleaned up after themselves.When our electric company came out to switch out the meter and inspect the panels that were installed they were highly complementary on the work that was done. They sent out two inspectors because this is a rather large commercial type installation with 94 panels. They said that the work that was done was excellent. Anytime I had I need to call the office both Mimi and Erica were very polite very friendly, again great to deal with. Even Will, who came out to do the exit survey, was super. He was knowledgeable and friendly. So all in all, start to finish, we are extremely happy and will recommend Solar Bear to everyone. read more

The entire experience went very well. starting with the selling and sizing process provided by Jason Saucier making sure that we had adequate capacity to meet our needs now and in the future. The whole team from Solar Bear was very professional, courteous and timely. The installation went smoothly and everything was cleaned up before leaving Veronica followed up constantly to make sure that we were on board with what needed to be done at the various stages of install and Jason Saucier provided onsite project management throughout the process. Called to find out about Solar here in Florida. Jay came and explained everything to us in a very professional and complete way. He answered all of our questions and we made the decision to move forward. We had a great crew of people come in and work in our attic to remove all the old insulation since we went with that extra option. After they left the actual installation took place and again we were impressed with the friendliness and efficiency they exhibited. Electrical installation took place at that time also and I must say it is a very clean install. Very professional. Insulation was installed and all is great. We had a little bit of a wait for the county inspections, but that is no reflection on SolarBear. All looks great. Today we had Will Garcia come and show us how to turn the system on and monitor it from our phone application. Again everything has been explained in detail. Great company to work with. Today was our final step of installment and system checks. All worked beautifully. Will was a tremendous asset very knowledgeable and very well spoken. He was also very patient as he answered all their questions in detail to our satisfaction. The installation crew that place the system on our roof was a 10 out of 10 they were all super individuals and I would love to have them back at my home doing work for me on a routine basis as required. The administration staff consisting of Erica and MimI were truly a pleasure to work with an extremely knowledgeable about their job and how the system was supposed to work. I could not be anymore please with the person know that I've dealt with or the installation set up and verification process is implemented by Solar Bear. FREE POWER FOR LIFE !!!! These guys are great, I have to say at first I was a little skeptical, but my wife wanted to do it so we took a shot. I have been amazed in level of professionalism , communication and the service is better then anything we have ever experienced with contractors ever. They kept us informed the whole time each step 1 by 1. After the install our power company (Duke Energy) was slow in putting in our meter. Tammy from the office helped push that along as well. Solar Bear - Installation was quick, efficient, and the installers were great and knowledgeable. The one hitch was the wiring was not quite right but in their defense they had not installed panels in Seminole County before and the coding was different. They sent someone out next day to fix the error. Then the waiting game for the city inspector to reinspect then waiting more for Duke to come put the meter in. It took long time from start to finish about 6 months BUT MOST OF THE WAITING WAS DUE TO THE GOVERNMENT PERMIT PROCESS. Go figure, right? The time for solar Bear was about 3-4 weeks for them doing their part from start to finish. read more

Product seems to be of good quality, salesman was awesome in seeing how well the system could work for us. Install crews were fast, polite, and helped us to understand what they where doing and where we were in the process. Exit survey helped me vent a lot of frustration I've had a long the process. Which took a lot longer than I ever thought it should have. I still believe the process will be worth the end result. Most frustrating part of the process was the lack of communication I received. They got better as the process dragged on, and I'm happy to report 8 months later. I finally have a functioning solar system. read more
