Some of the good companies I found do not cover Gainesville area. Then one my of neighbors recommended Retex. She had the roof done in August and Retex was the cheapest quote. So I called Retex, and the phone was answered right away (not like some other places I called). Wes met with me over zoom and went over the whole re-roofing process with a powerpoint presentation (what would be replaced and what might be extra). The quoted price wasn't the cheapest, but I liked how Wes went through the whole procedure, so I decided to go with Retex. The job was done promptly, the crew was courteous. Wes was very communicative during the whole process. What I liked the most is that whatever concern I had, Wes would address them until I am satisfied. Looking back, it would be an even better experience if I told them my expectations in detail before the job was done. There isn't much rain yet, but I believe the roof will hold up in heavy rains. Even if there is a problem, I am confident that Retex will come back and address it. I would definitely recommend Retex to friends.

Contracted with Michael Pittman and Son Roofing to replace all of the screws on our metal roof, it…read moreis 23 years old. Due to hurricane Idalia and some strong wind storms recently some of the screws had raised up. Michael Pittman and Son Roofing is licensed and insured, which was very important to me as a customer as the pitch on my roof is very steep. We met with Michael and Son, they reviewed the issue of raised screws, made the recommendation to replace all current screws with an improved, slightly larger screw. We approved the quote for the work and was placed on the schedule. Crew worked very efficiently, cleaned up all screws removed, replaced the roof vent boots and caulked all boots against water intrusion. Communications via voice, email and text to keep us updated on the schedule and work being completed was excellent. Trevor Pittman was on site while the screw replacement was being completed. We feel we received an excellent job with the right company for our needs at a very good value. Would continue to recommend Michael Pittman and Son Roofing to others without hesitation. We prefer to support local companies whenever we are in need of replacements/repairs to our home.

I was in the market for a new roof on my Gainesville home and interviewed 3 different companies. I…read moredecided to go with TMT Roofing because after speaking with Tyler and reviewing the estimate he gave me, I had a good feeling. I had seen some of the work they had done on both commercial and residential jobs and liked what I saw. Once I signed the contract, they immediately applied for the permit. Tyler kept me up to date on the actual start date because it was a tentative date (with all the rain we have in Florida, you just never know). They were only off by a few days. Each day, the workers showed up by 8:00 am (close to 7:30 am) and would work through the 90 degree weather and stay until sundown (after 8:00 pm) each night. They were all very friendly and kept the job site very clean. I have not found a roofing nail yet!! The best part about this company is the fact that throughout the entire process of replacing the roof, they would communicate with me via photos (phone calls too). As they were ripping off the roof and finding various areas of water damage due to overhanging trees, the foreman would take pictures and upload them to a photo app that was shared between me (the homeowner), Tyler (salesman) and the foreman. I was able to ask questions via the app as well as call Tyler asking what steps needed to be taken next. This really was beneficial for me. I was not able to be home during the day but I felt that I was notified of various things through the entire process and could actually see what was going on and what needed to be done. Once they fixed the problem areas, they would take pictures showing the completed work. The price of the replacing my roof was not the cheapest but rather a fair price and priced in the median range compared to other quotes I received. Getting the quote only took a few days which was a good indication to me (other companies took up to two weeks to come out an inspect my roof). Not only did Kilburn Construction repair the Hardy Board and underlying plywood, but they also brought the entire area "up to code." It looks better now than when we purchased our home. Polite, neat, and efficient, they left no trash or debris as they were doing their work. Chris is so knowledgeable he corrected additional problems we acquired from our original builder and gave us solid advice for our future painting project. Trevor was also so very polite and a great worker as well. If truly care about your home and want to maintain it, you need to call Kilburn Construction. Thanks largely to an out of business Orlando purveyor of swimming pool solar heating panels (the…read morecheap plastic kind that I found local squirrels just LOVE to gnaw holes into) a previous saltwater pool chlorinating system variously leaked salt water onto the metal roof installed years prior by Jim Brown Signature Roofing. If not for that leaky system my home would have a perfectly fine metal roof, but alas, squirrels beat me in the arms race and a bunch of spots on the roof suffered from rust and were in some places was falling apart. I decided to try Atlantic to get rid of that messed up setup perhaps in advance of getting solar for either electric or hot water. Atlantic got to work rapidly in removing the old roof and installing the new one. However, once the south side of the house roof was replaced they realized the roof panels weren't quite the right size or something along those lines. At that point they covered the roof in one of the newer alternatives for tar paper, this maybe 1/4" or so thick adhesive sheeting that provides both some cushioning for the roof panels and waterproofs the roof. This was because the COVID19 pandemic with its supply chain disrupting shenanigans delayed Atlantic's ability to get the proper panels. Despite this they ensured the roof with just that sheeting didn't leak, and then after a month or few they got suitable panels and finished installation in I believe under a week or so. The roof looks great and nicely caps my single-family residence. The only reason I'm dinging Atlantic a star is that they didn't clean up the site as much as I'd like. The photo accompanying this review shows one of several roofing nails from the previous roof that lurk among brush and leaves near the house in both front and back yards, along with various bits of nasty sharp metal which was dropped as the roofers sawed to try to adapt the improper sheeting to the structure. Other than occasionally stumbling upon such debris, their work was excellent.

The owner sent in a crew from Gainesville, that had the knowledge to get the job done. There is a transition from the house to the guest house behind the home, that is not a straight line and very challenging. The crew spent an entire day on that one section to make sure we were happy with what was done. Additionally there was a lot of rain between when they started and finished. The crew made sure the tarp was secured and water tight, so we didn't have to worry about the rain. I would highly recommend Atlantic roofing, they stand by their work. Anything along the way we weren't happy with, they fixed. Ed also went to bat for us with the insurance company to get us new plywood and flashing when he wasn't happy with what he saw.
