I requested quote and never heard back, but they came and did the cut/cap. No invoice was sent, no further contact. 4 months later, pool was completed and I contacted to have sprinklers reconnected and adjusted. The 'secretary' made the appointment for the service. When I called the day prior to ask again about a quote, I was told someone would be there to take a look the next day. I was told the appointment was for the work to be done. She then gave a rambling of numbers stating work was by the hour, and by person doing the work. I asked for a specific quote, again. The crew arrived a few days later, still no quote but was told to not be concerned, they would take care of me. The crew spent the day working, digging up pipes, heads, rocks, and placed current heads. They left at 5pm. I called the next day as no one showed back up to finish. I was told they had completed the job. There were pipes, trash, etc all over the yard. I complained and they sent someone to clean up the following day, which amounted to them picking the trash up and tossing it on the vacant lot next door. :( Then, I get an email with an invoice attached with total amount due....an extremely high amount, that is, considering the hourly quotes I was randomly told over the phone. No information on the invoice, just one bottom line number. I called to request an itemized bill, and was met with shock! It took about two weeks, and I finally got an itemized bill, that looked like the work of a kindergartner putting a puzzle together. The funny part is, the totals on the original invoice, $xxxx.84 and the itemized was $xxxx.05 were different! Hmmm. Strongly do not recommend. There are too many other options in SA and surrounding are to deal with dishonesty and avoidance. Do not use these folks!

I had a pool installed last year and at the recommendation of my builder, I hired this company to disconnect and cap my system where digging would take place. The guy that came out said when we're ready to reconnect, all he had to do was connect a couple wires and energize the rest of the motors that were still connected. I called Texas Allied (Sisco) back out to make the reconnection and Rick Neitzel, their VP of Sale and Marketing quoted me nearly $3500. He sent the technician back out when I told him what I had been told. The technician came out and said he would have the office get me on the schedule. 3 weeks later when I called about status, the lady that answered the phone told me that the technician can't overrule the VP of the company. Talk about deceptive business practices. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and possibly the State Attorney General as well.

Really though, as long as you're here and reading, I'll just say frankly: I'm not sure how businesses like "Affordable Lawn Care" exist. If you're looking for values like reliability, professionalism, or trustworthiness from a lawn care provider, you won't find them here or anywhere around these guys. In fact, the "affordable" is even debatable. I wish I could say that Affordable Lawn Care's saving grace is their impeccable landscaping and yard work skills, but unfortunately the only experience I've had with their actual lawn care was an unsatisfactory and half-finished job, despite the five appointments we set and confirmed with their company's owner. We first received a flyer for Affordable Lawn Care by mail. Being that it was our first month in our new home, we were delighted to have a seemingly easy lawn care choice. My fiancé called them to set up an appointment for a cut, weed treatment, and leaf removal, and the owner of the company said he and his team would arrive either Tuesday or Wednesday. Perfect considering we had guests arriving on Friday and wanted to have our lawn in order before their arrival. Tuesday comes and goes, and we figure the crew must be coming out on Wednesday. By midday Wednesday, we hadn't heard from the company and decided to text them to see if they were still planning on coming. They said yes, but they were having mower issues and could still come out to our home, just later than expected. Later that evening, still no show. Eventually they text us to let us know that they couldn't fix the mower and were planning on sending a different crew the next day. Frustrating, but these things happen right? Thursday afternoon and still no word from A-Lawn Care, so again we text them to remind them that we and our yard, in fact, exist. The owner texted us back to let us know that they were coming out that afternoon. Around 6:15 in the evening, Affordable Lawn Care rolls up, does a quick survey of the yard, and tells us they don't have time to finish the entire yard, but they will pull all of the weeds and move all of the leaves to one corner of the yard so they can come out again on Friday morning to remove them. [I should take a moment to tell you that we paid $140 for the shuffling of leaves and weeds around our yard. The company wanted another $65 dollars for them having to come out the next day, which, needless to say, was the company's own fault for showing up after dark. Let me just say that again. They wanted to charge us more money for a job we already paid for because they showed up too late to complete it same-day.] Friday morning and afternoon roll right along and--you guessed it! All to be found in our yard were piles of leaves and weeds. Again we text, again the owner blows us off. Basically this cycle goes on and on. Fast forward to these faux-lawners never showing up, and leaving my fiancé to call their company and complain about the half-finished job. She tells them that rescheduling is pointless given that their track record with reliability is zero to none; instead, we want our money refunded since the job was never actually done. The company owner ends up yelling, threatening, and name-calling my fiancé. He goes so far as calling her a liar and threatening her with sexist, misogynistic statements, including "You don't want to yell at me, lady. I can get ugly." (Is this guy trying to prove to us how horrible he can be at this point? Because we were already #1 advocates of this and need no further convincing). Not only were we dissatisfied with the way this business is being handled, but the company's own workers showed up to our house complaining about their boss' time management and scheduling. When we did complain to the company's owner, he quickly avoided all responsibility and flipped the blame onto his crew. Aside from frequent conflicts with customers, this business also clearly has internal conflicts with its own team. And even if you look past these horrible experiences they've dished out, I think we can all agree that that kind of business does not make for one you want to be dealing with. The conclusion of this tragic story ends with a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, which neither my fiancé nor I have ever previously submitted. However, given the grotesque and truly alarming customer service experience provided to us by this company, and given that there have been several other complaints of this owner threatening women customers who are rightfully dissatisfied with an unfinished job, we felt that no one should ever have to deal with this company again. There are so many better options out there, the list is endless. And if you need recommendations for other lawn care services, I will personally provide them to you just to keep one more cent away from this disaster of a company.

After initially agreeing on a price, the owner then texted me saying he needed $100 more. We bartered down to $50. The scheduled work time was delayed and rescheduled due to rain. They were also 2.5 hrs late on the day the work was actually completed. All of that said, they did a fantastic job. They accomplished exactly what I wanted, and it was done well and efficiently. The guys-coming-to-do-work-on-your-house industry is riddled with broken promises, unreliability, low to no accountability, and headache. It's generally unavoidable. So, for a project that isn't super time sensitive, I will confidently call this company back and expect the same great result.

I did a service request through Yelp and Chandler was very courteous and communicative throughout the whole experience. He offered the best price for the service but could only complete the service on the weekend which worked fine for us. He did an amazing job and even trimmed some extra areas for a minimal cost increase. The space under the tree was left clean of all the debris and his price included the hauling off of all the branches which we greatly appreciated. He currently accepts payment through Cash, Zelle, Cashapp, or Venmo for the services. Overall, I was very impressed with Chandler's professionalism, fair pricing, and quality of work. Our system was not running at all - something electrical it said. Jeremy was very quick to respond…read moreto my request for someone to repair our irrigation system. We chose him because of this. He was even able to come out that same day. He repaired our system and then gave it an overall inspection. In that inspection he found one problem that needed to be fixed right away so he did. This repair required him moving some border brick and the rocks behind it. When he finished that repair you couldn't even tell that he had done that. I loved that he cleaned up after himself and made the repair look like new. He even provided an analysis report and estimate for future work that either he could do or we should do ourselves. I think he did a great job and for all those things we don't want to do ourselves ... we'll have him come and do it. Great job. Great price.
