My Dog Tiffany and I were lucky to have 15 years together. Tiffany was a tiny Yorkshire terrier…read morethat I brought here from New York when I moved to Donaghadee. I knew the day would come when I would have to say goodbye to her and I dreaded that day. When Tiffany got ill I brought her to Dr Michael Watts and he immediately made a connection with her and with me. He is not the "white coat" vet I'm used to and I felt he was the most genuine, honest and down to earth vet I ever met. He was soft spoken, kind and caring. For a week I came every day to his clinic and he watched over Tiffany, evaluated her and gave her medication to ease her pain. When a week went by and her condition started to spiral downwards, Dr Watts was honest and softly told me, " it's time to say good bye" - words I knew were coming but did not want to hear. Although I took her home one last time, I realized I could not let her suffer any more and I called Dr Watts. He immediately cleared his schedule and I came to his clinic. He gave me the time to spend with her and when the moment was right he gave her pain relief and she went to sleep in my arms, like she always loved to do and had done for the past 15 years. I know the passing of Tiffany was unavoidable, however I felt lucky that her last moments were in the hands of Dr Watts. I will never forget his kind, professional and gentle ways and the sense he gave me that my dog was in good hands and I couldn't ask for a better ending to the most beautiful and loving dog, Tiffany. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU Dr Michael Watts.

We have been to many vets before we moved to the area. I always felt like the vets didn't care it was all a money racket. They pumped our dog full of expensive medication hoping something would work. This is not the case at this practice. Every vet we have seen managed to keep the dog calm while injecting her or prodding at her. They explain why they are doing what they are doing. They don't jump straight to every medication that could be used to treat similar symptoms. Like you would diagnose a human, they proceed with a process of elimination. We (and our bank balance) like this approach. I highly recommend this practice if you are looking for excellent care for your pet.

A young assistant had lifted Honey and took to the back room to wash her ears and put some drops in. Mr Lavery is very kind and understands how you feel about handing your little companion over. That man who calls himself a vet told us the same exact advice for each one (all had different cases of injury) and we lost all 3; one dog and two young cats. My anger for this place, i can't even express across this review, if you love your pets please for the love of god do not take them here. This man clearly has lost his care/passion for animals otherwise these deaths would've been preventable and he would've at least told us the risks to help them in the end. Collins vet is truly the worst vet i've ever experienced and honestly i think an investigation should be opened about this place because i know damn well other people have similar stories about this horrendous place. The cheap prices aren't worth it, folks.

What I do like about them is they have several branches, and you can visit any of them, but what I don't like is you never see the same vet twice. I would imagine, like a doctor, if they get to know the patient they have a better understanding of their health? Maybe that's just me. Anyway, I usually go to the Cavehill Road branch and we always get an appointment very quickly. The girl on reception knows all the pets and takes a real interest in them, which is always nice. It's a tiny wee place though, so if you're afraid of any other animals, you could be surrounded by them at close quarters! They have operated on our dog twice and have always taken good care of her. The emergency vet is great too, they ring you straight back and will talk you through any issues on the phone. I would recommend Clare Vet group to look after any pet.
