My Dog Tiffany and I were lucky to have 15 years together. Tiffany was a tiny Yorkshire terrier that I brought here from New York when I moved to Donaghadee. I knew the day would come when I would have to say goodbye to her and I dreaded that day. When Tiffany got ill I brought her to Dr Michael Watts and he immediately made a connection with her and with me. He is not the "white coat" vet I'm used to and I felt he was the most genuine, honest and down to earth vet I ever met. He was soft spoken, kind and caring. For a week I came every day to his clinic and he watched over Tiffany, evaluated her and gave her medication to ease her pain. When a week went by and her condition started to spiral downwards, Dr Watts was honest and softly told me, " it's time to say good bye" - words I knew were coming but did not want to hear. Although I took her home one last time, I realized I could not let her suffer any more and I called Dr Watts. He immediately cleared his schedule and I came to his clinic. He gave me the time to spend with her and when the moment was right he gave her pain relief and she went to sleep in my arms, like she always loved to do and had done for the past 15 years.
I know the passing of Tiffany was unavoidable, however I felt lucky that her last moments were in the hands of Dr Watts. I will never forget his kind, professional and gentle ways and the sense he gave me that my dog was in good hands and I couldn't ask for a better ending to the most beautiful and loving dog, Tiffany. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU Dr Michael Watts. read more
