Last year id spotted a cat in the neighbourhood that looked like a stray and it was shaking and fitting and I picked it up and drove it straight to the vets, it turned out it had been poisoned and wasn't chipped , it was a male cat and didn't need neutered. It pulled through and the vets told me to take it back to where I found it and let it go. I see it sometimes about the place and it looks like its looked after. Relived I didn't end up getting a bill for it , they know me from being in every year though with my mums cat. There's a small shop with pet accessories and foods and my last time there was a cat asleep in one of the pet beds in the shop bit, I thought it was a teddy for a while but it is apparently the resident cat.

Anyway, I usually go to the Cavehill Road branch and we always get an appointment very quickly. The girl on reception knows all the pets and takes a real interest in them, which is always nice. It's a tiny wee place though, so if you're afraid of any other animals, you could be surrounded by them at close quarters! They have operated on our dog twice and have always taken good care of her. The emergency vet is great too, they ring you straight back and will talk you through any issues on the phone. I would recommend Clare Vet group to look after any pet.

I bring my dog here and although he is a big wimp they really put him at ease - then stick a big needle in him!!! This includes 2 vaccinations, worm treatments, flea treatments, micro chipping and a free bag of puppy food. All this for only £55. This is a bargain when you consider we were quoted £30 for one injection by another vet. The vet itself is located inside Pets at Home so you'll probably find yourself spending a fortune on animal accessories if you go with this vet. The staff are amazing - really friendly and caring. I am a complete puppy novice so I had a list of questions for them but they answered every single one. Another bonus is that this vet is open until 7pm on week nights so you won't have to take time off work if you're visiting.

A few months after this I took him to get his monthly flea and worm treatment which cost £34 - at that time I didn't think anything off it. I thought that was maybe standard price. I went recently and it only cost £17 for three treatments. The vet had clearly seem me coming and calculated the price in her head. How does it cost £34 for one treatment and £17 for three treatments. Apart from this I don't really have any other complaints with them.

We have been to many vets before we moved to the area. I always felt like the vets didn't care it was all a money racket. They pumped our dog full of expensive medication hoping something would work. This is not the case at this practice. Every vet we have seen managed to keep the dog calm while injecting her or prodding at her. They explain why they are doing what they are doing. They don't jump straight to every medication that could be used to treat similar symptoms. Like you would diagnose a human, they proceed with a process of elimination. We (and our bank balance) like this approach. I highly recommend this practice if you are looking for excellent care for your pet.

They have modern up to date equipment, decent sized waiting room, nice dispensary. Reasonably priced, and very trustworthy. The best vetinary service we have had, and we have tried other practices locally. Cant fault them and the staff all make a potentially very distressing time, easier to deal with. Apart from the tender care and treatment PDSA staff treat the animals with, the best thing about it has to be that they treat pets from low-income families for free. In North Belfast, low income families are common and extorionate vet fees even more so, so this is a much needed service.

My dog has been a member of the practise for a few years now and never ever had an issue to doubt…read morethe work ran in the facility. Recently my dogs health declined and he was back and forth numerous times from the clinic including a stay. Myself being on low income meant I couldn't afford what the set treatments price would be ( total would be in the thousands). The team answered every question and query I had and practised the covid outlines with such care. Every pet i have seen in and out of the clinic including my dog was handled with love and professionalism. My dog passed away on Sunday night at home and I telephoned the practise and due to the nature of covid they were able to help me step by step in arranging his body to be kept overnight in another vets close to my home before his cremation this week. They even went out of their way and telephoned me yesterday morning as a courtesy call to see how me and my family were managing and if there was anything else they could do on behalf of the practise for my family in arrangements. 5 stars is simply not enough to cover the love the practise has for their work ethic and professionalism and more importantly their furry and human clients. My Dog Tiffany and I were lucky to have 15 years together. Tiffany was a tiny Yorkshire terrier…read morethat I brought here from New York when I moved to Donaghadee. I knew the day would come when I would have to say goodbye to her and I dreaded that day. When Tiffany got ill I brought her to Dr Michael Watts and he immediately made a connection with her and with me. He is not the "white coat" vet I'm used to and I felt he was the most genuine, honest and down to earth vet I ever met. He was soft spoken, kind and caring. For a week I came every day to his clinic and he watched over Tiffany, evaluated her and gave her medication to ease her pain. When a week went by and her condition started to spiral downwards, Dr Watts was honest and softly told me, " it's time to say good bye" - words I knew were coming but did not want to hear. Although I took her home one last time, I realized I could not let her suffer any more and I called Dr Watts. He immediately cleared his schedule and I came to his clinic. He gave me the time to spend with her and when the moment was right he gave her pain relief and she went to sleep in my arms, like she always loved to do and had done for the past 15 years. I know the passing of Tiffany was unavoidable, however I felt lucky that her last moments were in the hands of Dr Watts. I will never forget his kind, professional and gentle ways and the sense he gave me that my dog was in good hands and I couldn't ask for a better ending to the most beautiful and loving dog, Tiffany. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU Dr Michael Watts.
