My Dog Tiffany and I were lucky to have 15 years together. Tiffany was a tiny Yorkshire terrier…read morethat I brought here from New York when I moved to Donaghadee. I knew the day would come when I would have to say goodbye to her and I dreaded that day. When Tiffany got ill I brought her to Dr Michael Watts and he immediately made a connection with her and with me. He is not the "white coat" vet I'm used to and I felt he was the most genuine, honest and down to earth vet I ever met. He was soft spoken, kind and caring. For a week I came every day to his clinic and he watched over Tiffany, evaluated her and gave her medication to ease her pain. When a week went by and her condition started to spiral downwards, Dr Watts was honest and softly told me, " it's time to say good bye" - words I knew were coming but did not want to hear. Although I took her home one last time, I realized I could not let her suffer any more and I called Dr Watts. He immediately cleared his schedule and I came to his clinic. He gave me the time to spend with her and when the moment was right he gave her pain relief and she went to sleep in my arms, like she always loved to do and had done for the past 15 years. I know the passing of Tiffany was unavoidable, however I felt lucky that her last moments were in the hands of Dr Watts. I will never forget his kind, professional and gentle ways and the sense he gave me that my dog was in good hands and I couldn't ask for a better ending to the most beautiful and loving dog, Tiffany. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU Dr Michael Watts.

What I do like about them is they have several branches, and you can visit any of them, but what I don't like is you never see the same vet twice. I would imagine, like a doctor, if they get to know the patient they have a better understanding of their health? Maybe that's just me. Anyway, I usually go to the Cavehill Road branch and we always get an appointment very quickly. The girl on reception knows all the pets and takes a real interest in them, which is always nice. It's a tiny wee place though, so if you're afraid of any other animals, you could be surrounded by them at close quarters! They have operated on our dog twice and have always taken good care of her. The emergency vet is great too, they ring you straight back and will talk you through any issues on the phone. I would recommend Clare Vet group to look after any pet.

I bring my dog here and although he is a big wimp they really put him at ease - then stick a big needle in him!!! I had him neutered here and they really took good care of him, he was back home in a day and i was able to phone the on call vet for advice later that night. They have special deals for people who are unemployed so they can get animals neutered for free.

Well our little cat Mr Soots passed away here today. He had to be put to sleep because he had…read morekidney failure. We are sad. We were treated with compassion as was he. The vet was a lovely lady. We were offered to take him home to bury him and we were given as long as we wanted to be with him, but he was in pain so it would be selfish and cruel to keep him too long. We were seen quickly too just walking in of the street. Had I turned up sick at our local hospital I'd have to wait five hours. So we really are sad and quite teary. I know some people won't understand this, but we will miss him so much. We were lucky to have him in our lives and we are grateful he wasn't sick too long. Y'know he just strolled in our back door one day - right out of the blue - and he never left us. On the plus side he had a great life, with over eighty years clocked up in human years. We've had other cats but this wee guy was a unique little character who disproved the saying dumb animals. He was almost completely black, save for four little white paws - like little tiny white socks. This little guy could open window locks and pull up window handles with his mouth and get out the kitchen window. He could focus on this task for easily 20/30 minutes, whatever it took. He could knock the front door with his head. I remember hearing the door knocking one evening. I said to my wife someone's at the door. She said it's Mr Soots. I said catch yourself on, muttering as I opened the door and there he was. No humans anywhere about. He looked up, miaowing at me as he went by, tail up. If he was bounding across a field and was called he appeared at the back door quite quickly. One of the most loveable things was when the grandkids called. They could lift him, squeeze him and he would just flop like a rag doll. He was afraid of the kids but no nails, no bites just like a cuddly living toy. So we can smile a little through our sadness today.
