This is a proper, massive pet supermarket and it's delightful to see dogs walking their owners around the store - if only more businesses could be as animal friendly! Plus with their loyalty card scheme they post discount coupons out, addressed to your pet by name, which is cute. Staff are also very knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. However it drops a couple of stars for the following reasons: ~ A lot of items you buy from Pets at Home you'll find at the same price or cheaper in your local supermarket. So shop around. ~ I believe it unethical to support the breeding, buying and selling of animals as pets especially when sanctuaries and pounds are filled to overflowing with unwanted pets. Stores such as Pets at Home, which sell animals, just exasperate this problem.

'You need something small and furry to cuddle,' he opined as he parked, really quite badly, in the massive car park. 'Apart from me, of course.' Well. I'd never thought of getting a rabbit, but when I saw Bailey, lop-eared and twitchy-nosed, in one of the glass enclosures, I became a bit childlike. I bounced on the balls of my feet a bit, tugged at the other half's sleeve and batted my eyelashes in an alluring manner. (Hang on, that last one's just creepy.) The other half went to find a staff member, while I lurked jealously by the bunny's enclosure, shooting filthy looks at anyone who came near. Especially kids. But he was back within a minute with a very impressively knowledgeable sales assistant, who told me everything I needed to know about rabbits and what to get them. (I wasn't listening by this stage because she'd taken the rabbit out for me and I was cuddling her and cooing into her fur [the rabbit, that is, not the sales assistant, because that would also have been creepy]. But a general sense of really-knowing-her-stuff came through the haze of love.) The shop in general is very well equipped with everything you could need for all types of pet, and the prices are really reasonable, with a budget range of essentials like feeding bowls or doggy poop scoopers starting at a quid. So we duly got all the equipment we needed for the new member of the household, which included a special starter deal for the cage, food, feeding bowl, bottles and toys. Then we very gently took that wascally wabbit home. Jolleys isn't just a pet accessory shop, it's a shop that sells pets - think small though, hamsters, fish and birds were on show yesterday. Price wise I think Jolleys is a little bit cheaper than chain stores like Pets at Home. Yesterday I was able to pick up a huge bag of puppy food for £3.99, having paid a few quid more a few weeks back in Pets at Home. As other reviewers have said it's a great lay out - the warehouse set up makes it easy to navigate and the isles are well labelled. There are bigger items on the second floor! All in all a great shop - shopping local at it's best!

The staff are very helpful and always available to give advice . There are good in store offers and for owners of a mature age there is a 10 per cent discount on a Wednesday which can help towards the cost of looking after your pets.All that is needed is a loyalty card to obtain this. The store is easily accessible and has its own car parking with disabled parking . This store does not offer any dog grooming but they do allow dogs in store if kept on lead.

Their in house vet was fantastic for giving advice and really put us at ease. Plus their store is well stocked for all manor of puppy requirements. Their staff are friendly and knowledgeable and happily spend time giving a comforting wee cuddle to your dog to put them at ease. They sell a number of domestic animals, fish, hamsters and v cute rabbits, we wanted to take one of those home too but thought the the puppy would be enough! If you are looking to get your pet settled quickly and satisfied, this is the place to go to sort it out. My only gripe would be the groomers everything happens in a back room and you don't get to see the process, me being over protective would like to know what is going on, I could hear my pup doing a lot of barking, he was probably fine, and he was certainly in no distress when he came out looking all shiny and unsmelly!

The staff are really knowledgeable and always on hand to offer advice or answer any questions. They also have a vet on site who used to work at my local veterinary practice, so I can vouch for the fact that he is fantastic!

Oh yes, screw those fishies...this pet shop had a real life dog. Mmm hmm. A dachshund to be precise, and a friendly mutt it was too. I'm glad that my sister walked into the shop first, as it ran up and greeted us as soon as we were through the door. In fact, I didn't even see what it was my sister was talking to, namely because a) there wasn't a whole lot of room, and b) the dog had raced up to her so deftly that I was unaware of its presence. A couple of seconds later and I realised that the deft dog was now playing dead dog, and had decided to perch itself on my sister's feet. I then took a slight detour to the cat section (I'm not gonna lie...give me a cat over a dog any day of the week), whilst my sister gave doggie a rub. I then realised that the shop assistant was sitting right in front of me, and got ever so slightly embarrassed at my comments to my sister ("get out of the way", "shift that dog" sort of thing). He was evidently very amused at the ongoing shenanigans, and had to stifle a laugh at the comedy unfolding before him. Glad to be of service, sir. I did manage to pick up some food for the cat, but that wasn't before my sister got super excited at the discovery of a yellow and blue budgie. [Don't ask where the dog had gotten too...I haven't a clue. Both of them (sister and mutt) had moved on, so it longer mattered anyhow]. I like to see a locallly owned and ran pet shop, it has a nice feeling about it and isn't as corporate as the bigger chains and I always think the wee animals must be better treated. In this place you can pick up everything you need for small animals from rabbits to guinea pigs to fish and snakes. The prices always seems good to me and the staff are always friendly even if I did only call in to say that all the animals were cute and didn't actually spend any of my hard earned cash. A local business that is well worth checking out, if only just to see some wee animals - if that is your thing.

The staff were so so lovely on arrival. They were extremely friendly. Same when I went to collect him. It cost about £30. They thought he may have needed shaved but the girls spent time brushing all his knots out and he came home extremely fluffy, smelt amazing for ages after and he purred all the way home. I have never met more friendly staff anywhere. They were fab. And genuinely caring. If anyone is looking for a dog groomers I always recommend this place. It may not look like much from the outside but it is fantastic.
