I wanted like a natural balayage type highlights which I don't think this place is very skilled in (highlights I mean) and I basically feel like I just spent over 100 dollars for someone to turn all my hair brown, which I could have done myself for much cheaper. The Pinterest picture is the one I showed her. The other is what she did. Not even close. Honestly, just wanting to be done with the place I just left and didn't say a word about being unhappy but I'm literally in tears as I write this review. I went in initially for a balayage type of highlight on my dark brown hair. I showed Bailey a picture of exactly how I wanted it. I left the salon with half my hair more blonde than the other and with almost white streaky highlights it made me look like I had gray hairs( I'm 26). I told her I wasn't happy and went in a second time to get it fixed. I basically just wanted the other half of my hair to be slightly more blonde to match the other side. Just evened out so my ride side and left side match and just darken my highlights slightly. She basically dyed all my hair back to brown. She toned it so dark that you barely see highlight at all. I could have done that for $5 with a drugstore box of hair color. Again, at this point my hair is so processed I'm leaving it be but I would not suggest this place if you're looking to get highlights done.

As a self-proclaimed tomboy, I'm always nervous to work with a new stylist out of fear that I'm going to end up with a hard-to-maintain and style super complicated 'do. However, Katie styled my hair in a way that made me feel more feminine than ever without feeling like I was getting ready for prom. The cut and color both looked and felt so natural and I have never before felt so stylish and pretty! One thing that I TRULY appreciate about her is the fact that she LISTENS. I wear my hair in a ponytail every single day for work and too many stylists have ignored me when I said this. In the past I would too frequently end up with a cut so short that I had this tiny little ridiculous ponytail and hair falling all over the place (including in to my eyes). Katie cut my hair to the perfect length where it looked healthier and fuller but still left a great looking ponytail! (And on her first try, at that!) Most importantly (to me, anyway) is that Katie really took the time to teach me how to work with my hair and new 'do. I never used to spend a lot of time on it but now I look forward to going out so that I can work to replicate what she did when she styled it. I had my hair cut six weeks ago. I wasn't sure if I wanted to update this review but decided to…read morebecause of the bad experience I had. I have straight hair always done in a blunt cut. My hair stylist (co-owner) used a clipper to even out my hair in the back. I kept feeling something sharp and it was painful. I flinched a few times. I just thought my skin was sensitive. I got home and looked in the mirror and to my horror, my neck was nicked the entire area. I put on some antibiotic cream so that I didn't get an infection just in case the clippers weren't cleaned properly. Didn't she SEE what she was doing? Didn't she notice I flinched? Why did she use a clipper instead of scissors to even out my hair? I didn't know what was going on. I posted my story on Facebook, along with the photo. Everyone was shocked. One friend commented, "I was a Hairstylist for 30 years and never have I seen that happen! Those were dull un- oiled blades, you were clipper burned and cut." How can I ever go back Capelli's Salon? I asked for a refund. I was told an envelope would be at the desk. She never came out to talk to me; only a few text messages stating this had never happened before. I had my hair cut with a different hair dresser a few months earlier, and she was excellent, but I won't be returning. I'll spend my money elsewhere.
