Dr. Silberstein is great. He was funny, helpful, and did not hesitate to answer any of my questions. My issue is with one of his receptionists who's an older woman. After my initial consultation, she told me she will submit a request to have a surgical procedure be approved by my insurance and she will reach out to me soon. This was in February. It is now the middle of March and I called the office a couple days ago to see what's up. I did not see any pending approvals on my insurances profile so I thought it was strange. I called the office on Tuesday and she told me she will call me back Thursday. I had a gut feeling that this woman never even submitted my claim to begin with. It is now Thursday. No call from her so I called her myself. She is claiming that her initial request "didn't go through" and she submitted a new one a couple days ago aka she never would've realized she failed at her job had I not called her a month later. She then makes it sound like I'm being a burden to her and she told me that she will follow up w me later. I guess we'll see how long this claim takes. *shrug* read more

Dr. Silverstein is a G R E A T doctor! This was my first visit with Dr. Silbertein and all I can say is he is a wealth of knowledge. He has been in practice for some 40 years and was easily able to diagnose a condition that I have concerning my hearing. He explained some of the side effects of my condition and encouraged me to ask any questions. If you're looking for a great year nose and throat doctor I would highly recommend a visit with Dr. Silverstein. I found the waiting room area and the front desk receptionist area to be very messy and unorganized. I didn't like it that I had to pay eight dollars for parking and there is no validation. I also do not like the voicemail recording when you call to schedule an appointment. It does not give the time that his medical offices open and close. The front desk receptionist is not very computer savvy and asked me to bring a copy of my medical authorization for my visit. When I asked if I could just email it to her she said no faxing would be better. Who still uses faxes??? read more

Currently in the waiting room for my grandfather's appointment. It is now 5:45 and his appointment was scheduled at 4:15. He was referred to this place by his primary care doctor for an issue with his ear. It seems like overbooking is their policy here. Everyone in the waiting room is in a shitty mood because they've been waiting here for...e...ver. Thankfully I'm salaried at my job, but I feel bad for folks who had to take work off and lose pay for this. Update: Finally saw Dr. Silverstein around 5:55. He's a nice man and seems to actually care about his patients once they're in the exam room. But please, do something about the scheduling! read more

Dr. Silberstein is terrific! He really took the time to understand my symptoms and explain what was going on with me. Ear and nose examinations can be uncomfortable, but he was very careful to explain what was going on and that it wouldn't hurt, but would feel uncomfortable. The only problem is that I waited close to three hours past my appointment time to see him. Probably the personal care and attention I loved so much are what he gives to everyone, and that takes time. So if I were you, I would make sure to see him for the first appointment of the day. read more

Recommend him without any reservations. Office was great as well, though I was not told the copay had to be in cash (necessitating a trip to the ATM across the street) and it took me almost an entire month's wait to see him, which I totally understand as he's truly excellent at what he does. read more

I strongly recommend this doctor...he takes his time with his patients and explains and checks everything before jumping into just giving you antibiotics... I have so many mixed feelings about this review and I have to agree with a previous reviewer regarding rating the staff versus the doc. I went to Dr Sol after being referred there by my insurance for the cauterization of a nose vain. I found Doctor Sol to be sweet and knowledgable and other patients in the waiting room talked about how good the doc is as well. The doctor didn't necessarily explain what he was doing or seeing or planning to do with nose surgery during the examination but when I asked he was very thorough and I learned so much from him. I think a major downside to his practice is his office management. Esther, an older lady who answers his phones doesn't seem to be the most organized and they're obviously overbooking patients since I've had at least a 1 hour wait each time I've visited the office. Very annoying especially when taking time off work for this. I'm 3 weeks out or my outpatient surgery (done at St Vincent's hospital down the street) and I've had no complaints about the procedure. I was back to life after 3-5 days and I'm looking forward to life with no more nose bleeds! read more

Truly awful experience. I was sent to Dr. Silberstein by my medical group. I had an active infection, and receiving treatment was time sensitive. On my follow-up appointment, Dr. Silberstein demonstrated very clearly to have no understanding of my history or condition, even openly acknowledging it. And even in the face of that, formally made a diagnoses anyway, and refused to explain why the diagnoses was being made. When I asked about the test results that had been obtained, Dr. Silberstein acknowledged not being familiar with them, and then began to yell at me. Dr. Silberstein aggressively told me I was not to question his medical practice. Even as I continued to ask for explanations of the diagnoses, Dr. Silberstein continued to badger me and offer no assistance in understanding the diagnosis that was being levied. I had to seek a second opinion, and my next ENT knew immediately what my actual diagnoses was and that the one I had been given by Dr. SIlberstein was flat out wrong. A doctor who doesn't understand conditions, and insists on treating them anyway is a dangerous person indeed. A doctor who responds to a patient trying to understand their condition by yelling, arguing and demeaning is not one who should be practicing. read more

Doctor Silberstein Sol MD Doctor in my opinion is a great Doctor. He takes time to check carefully his patients, he is very kind and professional. Anyone who needs a Doctor I highly recommend you come here. On the other hand, the first time I walked in I saw two hispainics I believed and they do help, they are respectful and I have no complains with them. There is an Older lady I think she is asian I don't know but she is rude when answering the phone, she is rude in person and she won't help when you have a question. I recently had a surgery and doctor asked to be back in two weeks after the surgery and I will be back this week. Hopefully I don't get for my service that rude lady. From all the staff she is the most rude staff and won't show professionalism. Besides that, l like the clinic except that lady. I hope she can change the way she answers calls, and the way she treats patients because we don't go there for free we pay and I demand respect just how I've shown respect to everyone in there. read more

My first visit to Dr. Silberstein's office was pleasant and I was satisfied with the service the doctor provided. I just had my second visit and I recommend everyone to stay away. An older woman at the front desk who turns out is the doctor's wife is extremely unprofessional and has no idea what the term "customer service" means. This woman lacked respect and treated me like another name on a list rather than a patient who is seeking help. This woman had to call my insurance provider and after being told that I was not responsible for paying a copayment, she refused to let me see the doctor until I paid her out of pocket. I had absolutely no problem with them accepting my insurance the first time. The only reason I complied was because I need my ear pain to go away. This woman is THIRSTY FOR MONEY, RUDE and should stay away from her husband's practice. I will not be coming back and will talk to my general doctor about no longer referring patients to Silberstein's office. read more

It' so hard to rate doctors vs. staff because they are inextricably intertwined. Dr. Silberstein is just amazing. And he had great staff the last time I visited in December 2013. Buit I called again today and the person handling the calls was just absolutely unwilling to do anything to try to help patients. She would not even take down my number to call in case there was an opening for an emergency procedure. Really disappointing. So if you need a good doctor it may very well be worth dealing with her, but I have to go elsewhere. read more

Dr Silberstein was knowledgeable, patient and made me feel very comfortable. It was my first visit with him and an ENT in many, many years. He assessed what was causing my symptoms and made sure to fully explain it to me so I had no questions once I left. I only gave 4 stars because it is very tricky to get the office to answer the phone to arrange your appointment. That said, everyone in the office was very pleasant on the phone and in person. For anyone that is having trouble making contact, they are open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10am-4:45pm. read more

Dr. Silbertein seemed to me very caring and knowledgeable. It was nice to finally have a doctor look at me instead of a computer screen. He asked lots of questions, he took enough time with me, did not rush, and explained the diagnosis very well. He seems to be old school (in a good sense), from a time when doctors could arrive to a conclusion without having to go to an online symptom checker (YES, many doctors do this right in front of the patient!) The office is old school as well...decor is arghhh, all paper files...oh well. I don't mind as well as the doctor is good. read more

When we call to check appointment, we were told we didn't have an appointment, then when we came in they miraculously found our appoint. They have done this a couple of times already. The Doctor is kind and good. However, the staff is not good. They will give you a schedule only to learn later on the very day you show up on that schedule that you have an expired authorization and that is after an hour of waiting. Then you will hear the staff trying to retrieve an MRI results which was done many months ago on the day they are supposed to discuss the results with you. And this issue on scheduling didn't happen only once which gives an impression that they don't care. On top of that you called off work so you could be there on that appointment schedule. They should realize the ripple effect of what their doing on the lives of their patients. read more

Please save yourself the headache of dealing with her and find another doctor office. She has bad attitude and customer service skills. This review is for the staff and appointment process as I have not seen the doc yet. My appointment was set at 4pm today, got to the dr.'s office at 3:48 and was welcomed by the disorderly waiting room and 7 other patients sitting shoulder to shoulder waiting to see the doc. Obviously I will be here awhile. The old receptionist told me they were running behind by about 45 mins to an hour, but 2 hours is more like it. So to kill time I'm sitting here writing this review as I wait. Guess I should have consulted with yelp prior to this visit because I would then learn that the long wait isn't unique and the staff's attitude sucks all around. This Doctor is extremely under-qualified to hold a knife let alone constructing surgery on anyone. He's an elder gentlemen that I unfortunately had the displeasure of meeting, and regret it immensely. His bed side manner is horrible. He's too old to know anything new happening in medicine today, he can't diagnose you properly, he doesn't listen to your issues and yells at you if you disagree. His staff is beyond horrible. The older woman I believe is his wife (manager) is extremely rude and doesn't speak very well English. I'll make it short and sweet I had surgery performed from this man and he ruined me! He didn't use pre work to diagnose problem! No Ct scans. He scorched so deep in my throat I have issues with my voice box, it's damaged. Also swallowing and severe ear pain! I have to see another doctor in hopes they can fix me. Im being told I have nerve damage. Be warned! CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENTS DO NOT WALK, RUN!! read more
