I scheduled a tour in advance online, and received a very thorough explanation of the Yardstick difference. There are three different play areas for small, medium, and large dogs. During a regular daycare visit, your dog gets a short break in their own kennel area around midday, before jumping back in for afternoon play. An all-day daycare visit will run you $45, and they do offer a trial day for new guests for $25. The entire facility is cute and clean - but I have to say it's the customer service that stands out most. The Yardstick team sends me adorable (and detailed) photo updates throughout the day, reinforcing that I've left my fur baby in excellent hands. Every time I drop my dog off, they greet her by name and genuinely seem excited to see her. Big thanks to the entire Yardstick team for taking such good care of our pup! We'll continue to bring her by as often as possible for some of the best doggie daycare in town!

Since day 1, Grace has demonstrated genuine interest in getting to know my dog, and making sure she is getting exercised, socialized, and a fair share of mental stimulation. As Kana is my first rescue, Grace has been especially helpful to coordinate with on special training and figuring a good balance between meals and treats. I kind of like to think we "all got to know each other" at the same time, and Kana couldn't be happier getting picked up in the morning, and coming home to us in the afternoon. On top of the personal connection, I have to say that Lucky Dog is reliable and gives me a lot of piece of mind as a full time worker. I know well in advance of holidays, have very reasonable policies, and they really stand out by addressing most of my questions in the same day. Lastly, the Lucky Dog Instagram account keeps me connected with my dog throughout the day. Maybe to sum it up: the last time I moved I based my entire search on being able to stay within Lucky Dog's service range - the quality of life it provides to both my dog and myself is just too good to let go of!

He's a unique dog, and for a while we weren't sure we would ever find someone who could effectively and safely handle him, but Grace was able to not only speak his language - but also safely integrate him into walks with other dogs and help muzzle train him. She quickly became his favorite person and was one of the only people he trusted. Grace went beyond the walks and basic training and would sometimes ask if she could take him overnight to get him used to being around different dogs (hers) and people. He always loves these sleepover and has learned to better read other dogs and communicate as a result. Our boy has come a long way, and we owe so much of that to Grace and Lucky Dog!

He is now 14yrs old and they take him to grandma's house for boarding as she will take small senior dogs. He seems to do great each time and keeps a peace of mind for us when traveling. The great thing is on the boarding they allow your dog to play during the day in the play group with other dogs. They post pictures daily, which is great to see. No extra fees for the playtime. With as many pet owners in the area we have been fortunate to get our dog into the boarding as needed. I would suggest booking in advance to secure your spot especially during school holiday time.

Thus, you have to be careful when grooming them because you could damage their undercoat and fur if you use mechanical trimmers. We picked PPPS because of the positive yelp reviews. We booked our pup for an appointment. PPPS uses text to communicate with you and the communication is excellent. PPPS needed vaccine records and many additional details to make sure it was safe for all the other pups at their location. We dropped off Zoey and spoke with the groomer (Bree). Bree was very aware of how to properly groom an Aussie. We had a brief conversation about what we wanted and believed Zoey was in capable hands. When Zoey was done, we got a text to pick her up. I was greeted upon arrival and Zoey was led out to me right away. Zoey looked fantastic!!! Bree groomed her exactly the way we had discussed. Zoey looked even better than I had hoped. I gave Bree a $20.00 tip. When I brought Zoey home and my wife saw her, my wife loved the grooming. My wife's only complaint was that I should have given Bree a bigger tip. I will fix that the next time we bring Zoey in for a groom.

When issues come up (not eating for a few meals, etc), they're proactive in letting you know something might be up with your dog and including possible solutions. One of the very best parts is that Fitz always smells clean when we pick him up - we've taken him places before and he would come home smelling like dog. I can't recommend Yardstick enough!

So we have been going regularly to get his medication balanced to get him is a better place to be neutered. During the tour we were told, that was ok and they would simply restrict his group play to other little boys. While I understand why they would wish for dogs to be fixed, I hardly see the concern when the dogs are spending the night isolated alone in a suite. So long story short, call and get verified information from a manager before you go tour, and waste time doing the registration process.

This Pet Resorts of America sits on Charlotte Pike in West Nashville and is perched up on a hill overlooking the busy street below. The dogs have to love this view when they are playing outdoors...so many cars to bark at! We usually take our little dude, Tucker, to day care twice per week, so for us it was more cost effective to buy in bulk. We purchased a set of 10 visits and the staff are good at keeping up with renewal times so he never goes without his play days. This location has two sides/buildings...one for grooming and the other for daycare. They are connected, but have different entry and pick up points/times. We have utilized their grooming services, but for us it is a little too expensive for the low maintenance coat that our pup has. So, we now take him to the nearby Petco every few weeks at a discounted price comparatively. For daycare, the price is decent, and becomes better with package pricing. Tucker loves his day care friends and family, and they love him! Even if we are gone for a few weeks, when he walks in they immediately greet him by name and rush him back to the play areas. We also have special food we feed him that requires refrigeration. They made sure to ask if he likes it heated or cold. Heated of course because he is spoiled, but he will eat it either way...and it was nice that they asked! Overall, we really enjoy Pet Resorts for our little dudes day care shenanigans!

Here is a review of boarding dogs insPet Resorts of America in Nashville after some reflection…read more Make sure you differentiate between reviews of day care vs boarding when you read the reviews. To be fair, I will discuss both the positives and negatives. Positives: This business offers an option to board your dogs in the Nashville area that has, at least, a little bit of exposure to the outdoors. There are not many options close to the city. The most positive aspect of the kennel is the quality and friendliness of the staff. Negatives: I think this business is overshadowed by thinly veiled deception. The pictures on the site show dogs swimming in pools or playing in outdoor spaces. One needs to dig to discover that this kennel only guarantees to put your dog in a kennel with two undefined "walks" a day. To have your pet play with other dogs or swim in the pool, you must pay for each experience per day. Be sure to take a walk in the facility before committing your dog to stay there. A walk in the compound will reveal countless unhappy dogs barking at you for attention. This reminds me of visits to maximum security prisons. I dropped my dogs off and they were quickly overheated. This was on a Thursday. On Friday, I wanted an update of their health and a picture of them in the pool or play area. There was no response. If you check the kennel hours and times for staff response, they are highly restricted. The prices for putting your dog in a hot kennel with minimal interaction is $69 per day, per my experience as the base line price. I find this overpriced. Then they charge additional fees for things like playing with other dogs. I found this practice to be deceptive and insulting. I will never return to this facility. I can only thank the kind staff who work in a deceptive, potentially harmful, business model. Pet Resorts of America Nashville should be ashamed to be a business. You have the opportunity to do much better.
