I really wanted to write a stellar review for Michael Angelos, but in good conscience I can't…read more After an exciting meeting in a beautiful space, I paid the $300 deposit to have the company decorate and light my Notre Dame wedding. My budget was $4000, which isn't extravagant, but in South Bend, when I am providing my own linens and chargers and even candleholders, should get me what I envisioned. Fast forward to the planning meeting. The designer suggests putting this here, and that there. Everything looks great. All the while, I keep reminding her of my budget and she assures me everything will be wonderful. Two weeks later, I receive her design proposal which was OVER DOUBLE my budget. They also wanted to charge me $2000 solely for set up!! Although she fixed the proposal to be more within budget, the proposed decor and flowers were very plain, completely lacking in any wow factor. As a result of this, I ended up going with merryme events. Cher was able to give me my vision within my budget. It goes without saying that any wedding could be breathtaking if money was no object. However, the mark of a good florist and designer is making a beautiful space within a designated budget. They missed the mark completely. I did apply the $300 for uplighting at my wedding which was fine.

michaelangelos really knows what theyre doing …read more... they do a great job of communicating with you at every phase of the event planning, and the execution is spot-on. i particularly appreciated that they both designed/created elements based on our conversations, and also worked with what we brought them (e.g., items wed ordered from etsy), so it was easy to be pretty free to go with the flow as ideas hit you. one of my fav things, though, was that they were able to do things like string up decorations (something ive never done in my life. im scared of heights + bad at math, so its a miracle i even figured out how to order enough of the papel picado .... ), and they were also able to devise a way to drape a fabric that went with our bright color scheme over the curtains that were in the venue windows (which were a bright red thanskgiving/christmas-like pattern that looked like they were from the 70s (even my husband noticed them/thought they were terrible, and hes color-blind and sartorially-challenged)) to mask them. fantastic mix of professional and artistic -- i think theyre great to work with both if you know more or less what you want and need help executing it, and also if youre a blank canvas :)

She works with so many different vendors, knows everyone and can get you exactly what you want. We had to change our venue MONTHS before the big day. With Angie, it wasn't a problem. She had a backup list ready to go in case something like this happened. We had to set up our own tables. With Angie, it wasn't a problem. Her team brought my dreams to life. Everything was beyond perfect. My family is divorced and I knew there could be drama when the two families came together. I told Angie in advance and she was there, putting out fires, having my back, making sure MY DAY was exactly that, stress free and perfect. I also can't say enough about her assistants. They treated me like a princess. They were holding my flowers, train, anything I needed while making sure I was hydrated, laughing, every hair was in place, make up was flawless, the list goes on. I don't order flowers for delivery often, but I would say that she's actually quite a bit cheaper than using big corporate named websites. It was truly like getting free delivery. She was so kind and thoughtful and gracious. Her flowers are gorgeous and fresh. Her design looked straight out of an expensive catalogue. The venue is affordable and well worth more, the lights and swing are such great picture points. The gazebo is a amazing ceremony location and lights up at night.
