The waiter / owner spoke just enough English and I just enough French for me to choose a smoked duck cake for my starter. I had that with a glass of white wine. Both to die for. I ordered a casserole with Strasbourg sausage and mushrooms for my main course and asked the waiter to recommend an appropriate glass of wine. He brought a glass from the same winery - again sensational. The owner told me he loves running a small place where he can make people happy because he can ensure every meal is excellent. I was so full by the time I finished them that I had a bit of trouble making my way through my Lamb Shank entrée. It was lamb roasted with shallots, root vegetables, and a wine sauce, but the meat was a bit over-cooked, salty, and dry. I probably should have chosen a lighter dish. They have four tables total, two for two people and two for groups of ~5. The menu is pretty limited. Their specialty is fish and chips but, it is NOT like the American fish and chips. The fish are fresh. The chips are not potatoes. Everything was delicious. My friend ordered the fish soup/stew and fell in love. The waiter is super nice and friendly, he brought out all the different types of fish that they were serving that night. At the end of the meal he serves a shot of captain morgan with lemon covered in cocoa powder and sugar... which is SO good and on the house! Again, the restaurant is super tiny and the bathroom is right next to the kitchen. So that part was interesting. The food is so good and super affordable, the waiter was so nice and warm and speaks English well. Definitely recommend.
