Ah, I'm giving away beauty secrets here. I thread vs. wax because a.) waxing breaks me out, b.) it pulls at your face and can cause wrinkles and c.) a lot of the uh, waxers don't have eyebrows themselves, so how can I trust them to style mine? and finally d.) waxing = lack of precision. I've never had a threader who had penciled in brows, so I'm a loyal convert. Sh** hurts 'cuz I get my lip done too, but beauty is pain, amiryt? Personally, this place is my third choice. Not because of their work, but the sheer volume. Expect long waits here when, at most threading salons, you're in and out in under 10. Buuut this place is open till 9PM, and the freestanding SOI nearby outside the mall is open till 7 soooo... we meet again mall SOI. I was in the area and reluctantly gave this place a try. I was reluctant because I've been going to archbrows salon in keller for years and when I've tried other places I wasn't always happy but I was extremely pleased with my visit here. I got my eyebrows threaded and last minute decided to get henna on my hands. The lady Saa who did my brows was friendly but professional and she wasn't heavy handed with the thread which I appreciate. My brows looked on point when she finished she did my henna and it was so pretty. The henna did bleed outside of the design but once I washed my hands a few times, it was perfect. The henna was 20 dollars and only last about a week but I was still very happy with it. When I'm in the area, I will definetly come back to SOI and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I have been using this location for eyebrow threading services for well over two years. While they are not the friendliest, they are economical and efficient. However, today there was a wait and I was next in line according to the computerized check-in. 15 minutes later, I was still waiting and a group of ladies came in. When the next technician was available the flunkie at the register called the other lady up that came in with a group of friends 15 minutes AFTER me. Because I was the only African American in the unusually large crowd today, I'm left to draw only one conclusion. I'm happy to report I spoke my mind and promptly left and got my 'brows WAXED elsewhere. I will be filing a complaint with the Texas Dept. of Licensing and Regulations. Bad choice, India! I use medication that does not allow me to get any sort of facial waxing (at the risk of major skin damage), so I looked into threading as an alternative to the painful, time consuming, and inaccurate practice of doing my own plucking for hair removal. I was originally attracted to this salon because it's the main service upon which their business is built. I've been to the Fort Worth location of this chain but this weekend was my first visit to the Hurst location. It's located inside the Salons on the Hill building, suite #21 (just inside the front door, off to the left a bit). They have two chairs in their salon suite, and at 10:15 am there was no wait! They took care of my eyebrow and upper lip threading in under 10 minutes. It's also nice that the membership that I signed up for at the Fort Worth salon works at all of their sites! I'll definitely be coming back to this location since it's closer to my house than the Fort Worth one. Good stuff! read more

Good place. Did good brows. Price is $10. I checked in for the $3 off and they said it wasnt valid at this location. Wait, that doesnt make any sense because I CHECKED IN TO THIS LOCATION! I didn't check in at the other location so it couldn't have been valid at the other one. I said um, ok? the two girls started speaking in their native tongue. When they were done talking, one told me she'll take my check in deal. If you don't take it at this location, don't put it up. I've been to other Styles of India locations, and this one has the friendliest staff! They even asked how I wanted my brows shaped- which has NEVER happened! I like that Styles of India is open on Sundays. I tried to go to the Threading Studio in Southlake on Sunday and they were closed - too bad because I'm going to Styles of India from now on. Convient in & out stop for threading. Still have to go a few more times to find the best threader there makes a difference. They accept cash, credit cards & checks. Last threading salon I went to only accepted cash & who carries cash anymore? Only bad thing was their check in deal expired & was not honored when I checked in. I go to the styles of India every other week to get my eyebrows threaded. I like how they do my eyebrows for the most part. There have been a couple times they've slightly been off (but also I'm a little OCD about my eyebrows so it may be an unfair thing for me to say) when I get waxing for my armpits and legs and every time; they've missed sections of hair so I go back and pluck them myself. The people there are very nice I will say that. read more
