This dr is rude unprofessional and doesn't care about his patients I'm not sure why he is even a psychiatrist He did not help me at all He likes to text while your in his office He interrupts you when you try to tell him how your doing he just wants you to leave and see the next patient He is cold and can't even make small talk He sucks and I'd suggest do not ever go to him it's a waste of time and money I paid $125 to see him for 3-5 min and he texted most of the time or said nothing at all and handed me a script even when I was telling him I was feeling worse and worse each month read more

Drive through pill dispenser! Every month we went in, he greeted us as if he never met us! Instead of addressing my daughter on how she was, he'd ask me, then I'd turn to her and ask!he'd ask me what he thought he should do? Absolutely horrible doctor. Rude, arrogant, terrible bedside manner. He actually sits there and texts while you're in his office!! He spends no more than five minutes with his patients and writes prescriptions willy-nilly without knowing anything about your situation. He never even asked what other meds I was taking, just started writing up the scripts. When I asked him what the side effects were for the drugs he was prescribing, he told me there aren't any. Yet when I went to pick them up at the pharmacy, there were PAGES of side effects! These effects were apparent for me the first day taking the drugs and I felt very sick and anxious. Overall it was just an awful experience and I wish I had gone to see someone else. I will not be returning to his office and I would absolutely not recommend him to anyone. read more

I started seeing Dr. CHEEMA 3 years ago & my life is a life now. He takes the time to listen & makes the appropriate modifications to my medications when I need it. I can tell him anything without judgement & knows he genuinely cares about me. I've been able to make emergency appointments, emergency calls on a Sunday night & he calls back. I truly believe if you are reading negative reviews about this dr it is because he doesn't allow the abuse of narcotics & people get angry if they can't get more drugs because they don't use them appropriately. I have recommended Dr Cheema & will continue to do so. There is nothing I can say badly about him or his office staff. Everyone is always very nice. read more

Linda in his Westbury office is unbelievably rude! I arrived & gave my 1st name & appointment time, which is normally enough for them to know who you are & check you in (how could it not be?) Linda barked, "WHAT is your name?!" twice before I could say, I'll write it for you. I quickly typed it into my phone & displayed it for Brett, who smiled & said, "OK, I got it", but Linda kept repeating - with eyes like daggers - "WHAT is your name? What is your NAME?" Linda's hostile look, authoritative voice, & complete lack of listening skills were the most unprofessional I have ever seen in a medical office. A week later, I had left a message on the office's answering machine and called later on to see how Dr Cheema habitually returns patient calls. (Some of my doctors called when they had a moment between patients, but others had certain hours at the end of the day dedicated to returning calls.) I was going on vacation the next day and might need a change in prescription, so I wanted to be sure I was prepared when he called. Linda picked up. I started to explain what my question was, & she immediately interrupted me mid-sentence, barking "WHAT IS YOUR NAME! YOUR NAME!" in a very nasty tone. I tried to continue my sentence saying that I had already left a message and (before she takes my name & #, stops listening, cuts me off with the standard line that "the doctor will call you back when he can" and hangs up before I can get the information I called up for). Linda refused to listen to a word I was saying, just kept repeating YOUR NAME! YOUR NAME! I then saw she would never listen when in this mode, so I said, "Ok. But after I give my name, I want YOUR name." Linda's angry response: "I ASKED YOU FIRST!" We went back and forth over this several times, then I said, "OK, I'll give my name 1st, then I want YOUR name too!" After I gave my name, Linda shouted, "I remember you! You're that troublemaker who refused to give her name last wee!" I said, I didn't refuse, I was writing it down because of privacy concerns (small waiting room with patients listening 3 feet away). So then I asked for her name. Dead silence on the line now! I asked several times if anyone was there! Then the other assistant, Brett, got on the line. Brett was very nice, listened while I finished my question, and gave me the answer I needed. Because of Linda, I think I will find another medical office where people are treated with courtesy and consideration. All Linda had to do was let me finish my sentence and ask my question. Also, she didn't need my name because the answer would be the same for any of the patients. I had already left my message on their machine earlier in the day so she didn't need to take the info again, but Linda wouldn't know that because Linda didn't let me finish my sentence! Interrupting is rude! So is calling a patient a "troublemaker" for wanting a reasonable bit of privacy. If anything, Linda is the troublemaker. read more

Cheema I wanted to die I didn't want to live I was 45 years of age going through terrible depression due to menopause and this doctor help guide me right back to health gave me the medication that he thought will work for me help me out with any questions or any issues that I have always supportive always kind always willing to listen I would recommend him to anyone he is an amazing, professional and ethical doctor read more

I had the worse experience at this Doctor's office. I notice while in the waiting room, he rushes his patients out of his office. I felt as if this doctor's self interest is based on the revenue he generates and not based on the patients needs. I was rushed out his office within 5 minutes of siting down, I was not given a chance to explain my issues and it was a very unpleasant atmosphere. I hope people know this DR is supposed to have you sitting in his office longer then 15 minutes for him to be able to charge an office consultation. If he rushes you out the room sooner then 15 minutes he is not allowed to charge your insurance and he should be accuse of fraud if he does. I was a returning patient after a few years. First session back he spent maybe 5 minutes with me, wrote me a script and sent me on my way. Every time I returned it was like talking to a wall. He'd ask a few open ended questions, scribble in his notebook, write another script and rush me out the door. Only benefit to this was there was little to no wait time to see him. He runs his patients through like an assembly line. Another thing I found a bit strange was the fact that he never suggested anything further than meds. Didn't recommend therapy, diet change, exercise etc. It took him being away and me seeing his fill-in Dr to suggest I start seeing their IN-HOUSE therapist, who is amazing btw, to go along with the medication. Now fast forward to a bad day I had and even worse night. I ended up in the ER, which wasn't necessary at all, and the ER NP contacted Cheema and gave an exaggerated account of what happened. At first he told her that we would have to modify my treatment when I saw him next but come morning time I was informed that I was no longer welcome to his practice and that I was banned from seeing my therapist again. Just as her and I started proactively working on some issues Cheema ripped it all away from me. He doesn't care about his patients, it's obvious. I took a small step back and he completely abandoned me for it. He's nothing but a pill pusher. Come in, say two words, get a script and GTFO is his method of operation. To top it off, he left me with what remainder I had left of my medication and with no way to steadily come off of it. A medication that has such bad withdrawal reactions it has it's own diagnosis. My advice, go elsewhere, here you won't get any professional "care." It's a damn shame I'm forced to give at least 1 star before submitting this review. read more

First off I did not even get a chance to meet with this doctor because I couldn't manage to make an appointment. I called all week, left messages, gave the receptionist my number and in the end she said call at 10:30 am on Monday. I told her I have work at that time and the she asked me what insurance I have. Once I told her she said well what do you want to see the doctor about? Let me add that she has given me an attitude this whole time. I told her "That's not something I should have to tell you". She responded "Well, then there is nothing we can do for you". I then told her I would be writing this review. I cannot believe how unprofessional this place has been.
