This place was so fun with the gal pals. Saw this place online and we bought sessions for 8 girls, a 2 hour pole dancing class and how to twerk class. There were laughs all around. The teachers for both class were so patient and very welcoming. Every staff were accommodating and the place was clean and decorative. For bachelorette parties you can BYOB, and at the end they provide the bridal party with goodie bags. Both classes were not only entertaining, it got a good workout out of all the girls who went. It's been a little over a year, and I still love it here. Since my last review, a number of classes have been added including yoga, pilates, strength, dance. There's always a class for almost every day of the week to kick your butt into shape. It's almost a full-fledged fitness studio instead of strictly a pole studio. I wonder if the owner saw my review, cause she has lowered some class prices and since added plans for attending multiple classes. (yay!) The more you attend - the lower the price. Today me and two friends went to the "Try Me Out" pole dancing class with Contortia and it was SO much fun! She is such an awesome instructor and made us all feel super comfortable. I loved that we each got to pick our alter ego name, and she called us that all throughout the class. We learned a couple of fun moves, and she also showed us what she can do on the pole. She is AMAZING. She truly inspired me and made me want to come back to learn more and to keep improving. I also got to see some of their other instructors and I love how much confidence they have, and how positive they all are. I have taken the Art of Strip class and it was a lot of fun! Took the class with 2 of my girlfriends and learned some new moves and ways to improve some of my current moves. They teach you a choreography throughout the weeks incorporating different clothing pieces. I also liked that they give you a document with all the directions written out. This class really did more than just teach you some cool chair/lap dance moves, it helped me with my confidence and owning it! Another plus is the great music, awesome instructor, and the other lovely ladies you meet in the class. I've also taken pole lessons here from level 1-7 and it was Awesome! The class had women of all sizes and it wasn't as hard as it looks...but then it became as hard as it looked once you got up in the levels. I'm planning on going back to continue my pole lessons, it's so much fun and I miss it!! I never had a chance to try any of the other classes, but I am sure they are great! I did attend some of the parties that they throw, such as Goddess Night Out and you get to hang out with all the other lovely ladies who attend SSM's classes. They also do workshops with well known Pole Athletes, which I think is great! If you've always wanted to try Pole lessons, this is the place to go! read more

I have been attending pole dancing classes with Black Orchid Shimi for the past few weeks for her Level I classes, and I must say that she is a fantastic instructor! The class is small with 8 students, and the classroom is also fairly small but it suffices. There are 9 poles in the classroom, so every student has their own pole to practice on. The studio itself is very nice and held up. I really like the interior design the studio has, it is very feminine and welcoming. In regards to the instructor, Black Orchid Shimi, is very patient with her students and you can tell that she really enjoys her job. The classes run about 70 minutes, and trust me after those 70 minutes, you will be sweating and sore the following day. Pole dancing is a good and fun workout, use of a lot upper body strength. Black Orchid Shimi makes the class fun and interesting, and after taking the class your point of view of pole dancing changes, and you view it as an art, because it really is a skill and art! Plus, pole dancing boosts your confidence and any women can do it! Overall, if you want to have fun, spend time with your girlfriends, workout to build a better body and feel sexier, I HIGHLY recommend this studio. I have nothing but positive things to say about it. I was introduced to ssm through a friend. I have taken one class and I definitely plan on going for some more. The instructors and the owner are just awesome people to be around. There's always a positive vibe in the air. Classes are a little pricey. But there are packages you can buy that gives you more classes for less. I recommend SSM to any and every girl that wants to get some confidence, muscles and have some fun at the same time. =) read more

i came here for a bachelorette party and it was so much FUN!!!!!!! I was a little nervous at first since I haven't done anything like this before but their website is super helpful and answered a lot of my questions. Also, I got lost on the way there - make sure you go to the location on San Pedro in the shopping center with Sawasdee Thai Restaurant (google maps has their old location). Since I went with a private party it was just our group - but our teacher Elekktra was awesome! So sweet and enthusiastic. She made our group feel very comfortable and even had prizes for us at the end! The first part of the party we learned a floor and chair routine, complete with props. After that we had time for a little break - you're allowed to bring your own snacks and drinks, which was super nice! Next we continued our lessons in the pole room and learned basic moves for beginners. Tip - wear shorts! I was wearing leggings and had trouble doing some of the moves. At the end Elekktra also showed us one of the routines she teaches her advanced class. I am now the proud owner of a certificate that says "To a fabulous, sexy, hot as hell party girl!" haha. I learned a lot and left the party feeling great! If you are looking for unique ideas for a bachelorette party or just a fun time with your girls please check this place out! This studio rocks. I came here to challenge myself with pole classes and have been hooked since then. The instructors, the owner and the women who take classes here have made this a supportive, fearless and fun community. The space is pretty, clean and well-maintained and the envy of other pole students across the country. I primarily take pole but the studio does offer other fun, body-positive, sexy fun dance classes. The location is good...not too out of the way and located near some major malls, good restaurants and highways. I can't rave enough about how much I love this place! As a more conservative person, I've only enrolled in the Zumba with Xena class. Ladies, this studio has been amazing. Really, I can't even say how awesome it is working out here. The Zumba class is at the beginner level and Debbie will modify the exercises to your comfort level. But don't be fooled! YOU WILL GET A WORKOUT! I leave her class every week covered in sweat. Debbie's class is definitely a workout and isn't like other Zumba classes you may have tried. I was looking for a women's only class near my home, and I stumbled onto SSM. For $5/class I figured I had nothing to lose. I get way more value from this class than what I've paid for it. The instructor Debbie is one of the kindest people I've ever met. I had never done Zumba before and she's made me very comfortable exercising in a group setting. The camaraderie and fun in this class has been a huge confidence boost! I know a lot of people may be nervous about coming to a pole dancing studio, even for non-pole classes. The studio is immaculately clean and well-kept in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. I've never, ever felt uncomfortable at SSM, even as a more reserved person who would never try the pole. Even if you aren't sure if it's a fit for you, try one of the low-level classes. You have nothing to lose. :) read more

A group of girlfriends and I went to SSM for my bachelorette party, which was hosted by Karla. Although not one of us had ever had any experience in pole dancing, we had so much fun learning beginner moves. Karla was sassy and knew how to modify every single move if needed (one of my bridesmaids was 7 months pregnant at the time, and Karla knew exactly how to keep her safe while still involving her in the class). As for the classes, we started out in the pole room, learning some moves, then we had our "solo acts" where we showed off what we had just learned. After we showed off our beginner moves, our instructor then showed off her moves to us. Then we went to the red room to take a lap dance class, which was also pretty fun. SSM provided all party supplies and even provided pretty awesome prizes. I am so glad we went! I would definitely recommend SSM to anyone and everyone! And we all loved our instructor, Karla! This workout has helped me build upper body strength more than any other workout class I have ever taken! My first class I was a little nervous but the other women were so friendly and I was hooked! It's been about five years and I have taken almost every class offered at the studio. I have even brought my mother to see a showcase!
