I really appreciate that SAS sells shoes in varying widths for my narrow feet. I was greeted upon…read moreentry and was helped by someone who really knew the brand's product, styles and sizes. I appreciated the high touch sales experience as I have a hard time with fit. I just wish that the styles were a little more fashion forward. The price point is higher so I hope the quality is also there, but so far I am very happy with my purchase.

Unless you want to set fire to a couple hundred dollars I would avoid this place like the plague…read more Unskilled staff, hard sell and very poor inventory. I have a difficult foot to fit - high instep, etc. I live about an hour and a half away so called ahead of time to discuss fit. I was assured their staff all are fit experts and that they stand behind their shoes fitting properly. I travelled to Victoria on a Saturday. The woman I dealt with ended up selling me a pair of sandals and a pair of ballet flats - somewhere over $400 for the two. The sandal instep strap was quite tight but the fitter advised "it will loosen up in an hour or two". It did not. The flats were fitting large, even with a pair of socks. Fitter did not have the proper size but said if I added heel grippers, they would be fine. I did - and nearly killed myself the first time I wore them as the left shoe is so loose it fell right off. Called to find out what could be done. If I came in they would "work with me" to adjust the fit of the shoes. Now I guess it may be possible to somehow stretch the instep strap on the sandal but in no way are they going to be able to shorten the flat or lengthen my foot. They stand "behind" alright - behind their return policy for the shoes. There is no standing behind their inept and hard sell fitters/sales people. The person I talked to actually indirectly accused me of misrepresenting what the fitter had said.....I have a witness so nice try. All this store wants is to sell shoes, they don't care if they are the right shoes or if they fit properly. I have had SAS shoes before - purchased in a store that actually knew what they were doing. Unfortunately, those stores are not in Victoria. I will NEVER go back to this one and will make sure everyone I know is aware as well. Really really poor customer service.

In August 2016, I paid $100 for a $200 waterproof jacket during a half price sale at the Plenty…read moreUptown location. I have worn the jacket for seven and a half months and it is NO LONGER WATERPROOF. I have washed the jacket a half dozen times and put it in the dryer for several minutes with each washing to remove excess moisture before hanging it to dry. All of the articles that I have read on waterproof jackets recommend washing AND drying the jacket to improve the waterproofing. The store manager told me that I had melted off the waterproofing by putting it in the dryer. I showed her the jacket inside and out, and neither of us could not see any washing instructions. If these jackets are to be treated differently than all other waterproof jackets, then it might be in the manufacturer's best interest to include a care label that doesn't come off with the first washing. For $200, one could probably sew in a proper care tag. I took the jacket into the store today hoping for a refund or to exchange it for a new jacket (of which they had "plenty" in stock). I received neither. I was told that I would be able to get a store credit and pay the difference for the jacket ($100!), OR I could leave the jacket with the employee who would send it away to have it "looked at" after which I MIGHT receive my money back. I left the store without a jacket and was told that I would have to wait for an immeasurable amount of time while they pondered this situation. There is not much to think on. I bought a $200 WATERPROOF jacket on sale, less than a year ago and it is no longer waterproof. For $200, this jacket should last much longer. I can buy a $200 jacket at MEC and trust that it will not crap out on me less than 8 months later and SHOULD this be the case I certainly wouldn't have to get on my knees to beg for a POTENTIAL refund. If Plenty wants to sell poor quality products, at least have a refund policy in place to protect customers from a whole whack of wasted money.
