Dark woods with a squeak to 'em. Just the way I like stores that look like this to sound!…read more I tried. I really did. I looked over the American Apparel racks. I browsed through the guys stuff. I thumbed over a pretty cardigan. I wanted to buy... I had my credit cards out, but every time I went to, something told me not to. Perhaps it was the smell of incense in the air and in the fibers of the cardigan that didn't do it for me because I left without anything in hand, feeling a little blue. Like the incense had depressed my mood and stripped me of my favourite type of therapy - the retail variety.

Simply peering in the window will do your closet a great disservice…read more Go inside and meet Niomi and her fabulous staff. A new addition to the Victoria shopping scene, they've filled the spot between Pig and the entrance to the Atrium. With floor to ceiling windows and a beautiful interior, you'll wish your closet had this lighting, not to mention to the space. While it looks amazing with the shoes set up more like art than those boring old shoe racks you're used to, Head Over Heels has a range of prices and offers. From affordable, sustainable, fabulous TOMS, to handmade Spanish and German brands you've never heard of, and some staples from Birkenstock that you'll never grow tired of. They have a ton of great local and Canadian-made jewelry, and hand bags and are excited to be open, so the service is really great. They are looking to start supporting some local women's groups with shoe donations too, so you'll really be embracing a new business in the Victoria shopping community that's out to do some good. So nice to see a TOMS (I'm a superfan) selection beyond the classics. They have some awesome wedges that will soon be mine. The handmade Spanish numbers have my name on them too. Check it out, you'll love this new shoe shop in town!

Can I Give You My Money? No Thanks. If you're looking for…read moreexceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere, Outlooks Menswear is NOT the place to find it. During a short visit to Duncan for Father's Day, I was excited to spend quality time with my Dad and treat him to some new clothes. We searched for menswear options and Outlooks came up first, so we headed there full of enthusiasm and ready to shop. We walked in smiling and ready for a great experience. I introduced my Father and explained we were looking to outfit him with some new pieces. The saleswoman took one look at him and flatly said, "We have nothing for him." No effort. No conversation. No alternative suggestions. Just a dismissive brush-off and out the door we went--feeling dejected and frankly, unwelcome. Thankfully, just two doors down was Jim's Clothes Closet. Not only did they greet us warmly, but their amazing team, especially CoCo, helped my Dad find pants in the exact size the Outlook's employee insisted wouldn't fit him. On top of that, he left with shirts, belts, a hat, and a great vest--plus a smile on his face. Outlooks Menswear gave us the worst customer service experience I've had in years. If you value your time, your money, and being treated like a human being, keep walking right past this place.

She carries French Dressing jeans, pants and tops (and all sizes). She has plenty of Simon Chang pants and jackets. (She ordered 2 jackets for me). What else can I say? She has dressy wear like Joseph Ripkoff, Frank Lyman, and more. She carries pretty cruise wear like Tommy Bahama and she has petites for us smaller gals. What else can I say? I have been in the store maybe 4x and I have never been disappointed. Her clothing is first quality, pretty and I would say competitively priced compared to what things are priced in Victoria. It is worth the drive!!!!

To my huge surprise, this store impressed as soon as I stepped in. Very bright and stylish and at the same time inviting and comfy. You can see the store owners put a lot of work and love in this place. In addition to the store design, I was taken aback with the clothes selection and how it's tastefully organized on the rack and the shelves. Kudos to Natalie and Maria! And what a service! These girls treated me as VIP and for this short period of time I was given some beautiful choices for outfits and also the style that would suite me the best. It's definitely not your ordinary store. I'll be back for more shopping! Christina

My boyfriend doesn't often shop for casual clothes so it was a nice treat for him to get such attentive customer service. The gentleman working was happy to give feedback and picked out some nice pieces while speaking about the quality of items they bring in. Most of the items are either made local or sweatshop free in the USA. This is the kind of quality I want to spend money on and is generally a deciding factor when I make any purchase. I also wanted to speak about the simplicity of the decor and layout of the shop. Great merchandising as it really draws the eye in. They also sell some quality accessories including footwear, bags, ties and sunglasses. We will certainly be back when we visit the island again.
